Votický, Petr ; Duschinská, Karolina (advisor) ; High, Radka (referee)
The diploma thesis analyzes the level of some communication methods of teachers at the second level of elementary school, which should lead to improved and more balanced mutual communication. The essence and goal of the work is to examine the presence of dialogic teaching of selected teachers. The work will offer an interesting comparison of theories with real findings. In the theoretical part, I describe and reflect on the use of communication forms using elements of dialogic teaching. I introduce and explain the elements that, according to the expert, lead to stimulation, engagement of students' thinking, which influence their learning and understanding. Dialogic teaching differs from the classic IRF structure in the teacher-student approach using question work and feedback in the learning process. I am looking for some answers to the questions of what communication factors influence student learning through teacher communication. I describe theoretical principles, selected examples, methods and their subsequent results when used in practice or research. At the same time, I present the advantages and reasons for use. In the practical part, through qualitative research, I analyze audio recordings from classes and interviews with teachers and students. I distinguished between open and closed...
Architecture in the era of housing crisis
Richnavská, Dominika ; Eichlerová, Eva (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Jan (advisor)
The aim of the diploma thesis is to design a residential complex on the territory of the city of Brno, ideally on the site of a brownfield or on an inappropriately used land such as a horticultural land. The design should take into account trends in housing and construction and also offer solutions to current social problems. As the selected area for the thesis I have chosen the gardening complex on Žlutý Kopec, which is located at a relatively short distance from the city centre. New studies and projects are already being developed in the area to better use its potential and to make it more accessible. In the project, I am focusing on an alternative way of building - baugruppe, which is better known in neighboring countries but offers us a chance to find interesting housing solutions in contrast to development projects. That gives residents the opportunity to create individual solutions that suit each of them while finding a compromise for living together in peace and contentment. The area mostly consists of flats, but we can find there also smaller premises such as gym, coworking, etc. The addition of outdoor activities, playgrounds and sitting areas completes the whole of participatory living with strong social ties.

The thesis deals with the role of selected associations in the development of the Znojmo region. Furthermore, this part contains the possibilities of participation of the residents in the development of the territory, the most important of which is the participation of the residents in the form of the formation of associations. The practical part consists of an introduction of the area of interest of the Znojmo region and a literature review capturing the activities of associations in the development of the area. Based on the conducted interviews, cooperation with the center of the region (the city of Znojmo) and the role of selected associations in the development of the Znojmo region were subsequently evaluated.

Citizen Mapping as a City-Making Practice
Koncar-Gamulin, Lovro
This paper hypothesises that gaps in knowledge and understanding of our urban spatial processes have been facilitated by a stark emphasis on measurable and simulated data, as well as by the absence of non-measurable subjective experiences in contemporary data collection methods. Therefore, the paper discusses an inclusive way of contributing to city-making in which citizens create as well as add value to, and extract value through their collective efforts. The research aims to deepen engagement between citizens and urban design by discussing an app-based participatory tool through which citizens can identify, record and reflect upon different space-making parameters in their immediate surroundings. This tool provides a novel vocabulary to challenge the exclusionary practices of contemporary data collection, and brings out the strengths of citizen participation within urban design.

Is current social work with the community in the Czech republic a theory or a practice?
Deutschová, Barbora ; Pěnkava, Pavel (advisor) ; Šťastná, Jaroslava (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to draw the reader's attention to the importance and necessity of community and social work with the community, which is not anchored in the Czech Republic by any legislation. The thesis draws attention to a number of ambiguous definitions of terms and different perspectives on social work with community, although many professional materials emphasize the need for functional communities, which are often replaced by social services. My thesis presents a deaf understanding of terms relating to community and community work. The emergence and gradual development of community social work then expands and refines the understanding of community work and its impact on society as a whole. The role of the social or community worker themselves then plays a crucial role in social work with the community, with clarification of their remit and job description being an essential part of social work with the community. The starting point for this work is the national and regional strategic documents that influence the direction of social work. The thesis then turns to research to answer the key question of whether current social work with the community in the Czech Republic is theory or practice.
Public space - the place, where we live?
Janská, Hana ; Spalová, Barbora (advisor) ; Čada, Karel (referee)
This thesis focuses on the concept of public space as a construct which is formed at time and is a subject to the contemporary social conditions. The first part maps the historical evolution of this construct. The changes of content of terms that have been used at different times in the sense which today is understood as a public space are described. This part presents contemporary theoretical basis, their reflections in the society and also their reflection in the lived reality. It describes the key influences that shaped today's "modus vivendi" of public space. Apart from the ancient agora the work focuses on the Czech environment from the 19th century to the present. The second part, the research work describes how the current discourse of public space, represented by the Via Foundation (Nadace Via) and its program The place, where we live (Místo, kde žijeme), transcribed into the social structure of the three Czech villages. In the context of three case studies we focus on how the public space of these villages have changed and which elements from the past survived in this structure.
