The thesis deals with the transformation of perception of vampire in Western culture from early modern period to present. The vampire in modern Western culture is very popular and has an unwavering place. Vampires are now attractive and basically not dangerous. An essential part of how culture perceives certain phenomenon is a belief in it. Therefore I am interested in how the West over time explaining this phenomenon. Work also introduces the Norbert Elias's civilization theory. Analysis of transformation in the perception of a vampire in Western culture follows it's tracks and the results are compared with it with the goal to give answer on question whether this phenomenon is turning into the terms of this theory.
Ethics of Postmodern Subject and Relation of Self to Itself
Homola, Matouš ; Marcelli, Miroslav (advisor) ; Charvát, Martin (referee)
This thesis is focused on ethics and subject in postmodernism and poststructuralism. The thesis contains methods of analysis, interpretation and comparison. These methods are primarily focused on French authors of the second half of the 20th century. In the text, there are answered questions like: "How society, knowledge and thiking of certain period affected the freedom of human being? What mechanisms exist in the language function structures that affect human way of thinking? What are the possibilities for individuals, to emancipate against the influence of powerfull government institutions and their strategies?" The aim of the thesis is to make an ethics rules that will be taken like an alternative to the codified normative morality. It shows the differences between modern universalism and posmodern pluralism. The dualism is interpreted primarily in the way of thinking of J.-F. Lyotard. There is also interpretation of dualism throught Deleuze and Guattari philosophy that is formulated due to theory of arborescent and rhizomatic structures. Cajun French: mirror of the past, of the present and of the future
Bednárová, Jana ; Vacula, Richard (advisor) ; Štichauer, Jaroslav (referee)
The thesis seeks to give an overall image concerning the linguistic situation of Cajun French of Louisiana. This regional variant of French is spoken by a minority group of speakers in this state. Given that the paper was created in the Czech academic community where Cajun French is virtually unknown, it tries to spark more interest in this topic. The first chapter presents the theoretical input to the outlined problem and Czech works dealing with Cajun French. The second chapter shows the basic facts about Louisiana, as well as the key events in its history. It examines the creation of Cajun French and characterizes its specific features. It also includes a mention of Cajun French reference books. The third chapter examines the legal status of the French language in Louisiana. Furthermore, the work sheds light on its French language policy, carried out mainly by a state agency called CODOFIL (the abbreviation comes from Council for the Development of French in Louisiana). The thesis later explains what the adherence to Francophonie would mean for this state. This is followed by an account of the relations entertained with Francophonie. The thesis later outlines the current linguistic situation and describes the possibilities of studying French in Louisiana. The presence of French on signage and in...

The diploma thesis contains two types of research in this direction: quantitative and qualitative.
Hardware for lightweight cryptographic implementation
Jedlička, Jakub ; Cíbik, Peter (referee) ; Smékal, David (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of lightweight cryptography and the implementation of a selected cipher on a field programmable gate array (FPGA). Thesis first deals with the theory, where hardware elements, general cryptography and lightweight cryptography are described with focus on the LBlock and PRESENT ciphers. It then describes the selection of a cipher type and then the selection of a particular lightweight cryptography cipher. Next the LBlock cipher is selected, implemented, and tested as a custom intellectual property (IP) block using a hardware descriptive language for very fast integrated circuits (VHDL). This block is used in the block design to implement the encryptor on the ZYBO-Z7 development board. The input and output data handling is implemented on the Zynq-7000 processing system chip, which passes the data to the programmable logic. Finally this communication and implementation is described where the operational modes used for the LBlock cipher are cipher feedback mode and output feedback mode. For these operational modes, measurements are made to determine the encryption speed of the data stored on the microSD card and the pitfalls resulting from this encryption are described.
Necessity vs Needlessness
Pélyová, Paulína ; Sedlák, Michal (advisor) ; Kafková, Helena (referee)
The aim of the diploma thesis is to define a specific phenomenon bound to the current consumer society, which by its expression considers certain values and relations to the material world as necessary or, on the contrary, unnecessary. At the same time, it examines the boundary between consumer goods that we use on a daily basis and the subjects that have become part of our personality. These findings are demonstrated on specific examples. Telecommunication progress and its impact on today's consumer society in all aspects of nowadays lifestyle has become the starting point for the diploma work. Phone as an artifact has become part of our life with an ever more personal approach. This phenomenon is grasped theoretically, creatively and as an opportunity for pedagogical activity and research. The pedagogical intention is not only suggested but also verified and reflected in praxis.
Power Analysis On Present Lightweight Cipher And Hw Countermeasure
Hirš, David
Power analysis presents the typical example of successful attacks against trusted cryptographic devices such as smart cards or emebeded devices. Nowadays, the popularity of Internet of Things (IoT) is growing therefore, designers sould implement cryptographic algorithms with countermeasures in order to defend against these types of attacks. The article focus on the implementation of ultra-lightweight block cipher PRESENT that using the hardware randomization as a countermeasures technique.
