Rating of gluten-free diet - advantages, disadvantages - in terms of nutrient supply and perceptions of consumers

The aim of bachalory thesis is to find out, which are the most common nutritional differences of glutenfree diet in compering with racional diet. The next aim is to chart how the consumers accept their limited diet. The bachelory thesis called Rating of gluten-free diet advantages, disadvantages in terms of nutrient supply and perceptions of consumers focus in theortical part on indication of gluten-free diet, especially celiak disease. Further the thesis is based on rating gluten-free diet and brief description of racional diet. Practical part was done by applying quilitative research method. The data was collected in form of prospective nutrition records and questionnare. There were 10 respondents involved in reasearch. Their records were fill in preprepared forms. Those 10 respondents were contened from 4 men and 6 women. They were separeted in couples, one on gluten-free diet connected with another on racional diet. The connected respondents were the same gender and similar age. The evaluation of the questionnare was done by analyzing filled in forms, only from respodents on gluten-free diet. The conclusion of prospective records says that 3 of 5 couples has better income of energy and nutritions the respondent on racional diet. There are two couples, where in one couple there is better intake of eaten energy and nutrition by respondent on gluten-free diet and in the second one has similar results by both respondents. Out of results from questionnare it is obvious that respondents on gluten-free diet consider the price of gluten-free products as high. Most of them keep their diet strictly, except one respondent. All respondets feels supported by their families. After the beggining of medication (gluten-free diet) the healt condition of all respondents has became better.
Dietary factors in the development of type 1 diabetes

Type 1 diabetes mellitus is an autoimmune disease which develops in genetically susceptible individuals and whose incidence rapidly increases, especially in developed countries. Type 1 diabetes is believed to be strongly associated with the environment: viruses, stressful life events or the absence of exposition to antigens in early life increase its incidence. Antigens to which we are expressed continuously are food antigens. Gluten, milk proteins or the intake of vitamin D precursors clearly influence type 1 diabetes pathogenic process. This bachelor's thesis aims to describe our current knowledge on the role of dietary factors in type 1 diabetes, their possible immune mechanisms and also interplay with other environmental factors. Health benefits and risks of adherence to gluten-free diet

During the last approximately ten years, an increasing precentage of the world population follow a gluten-free diet. On one hand is the reason more and more frequent diagnosis of celiac disease, allergy on gluten or nonceliac gluten intolerance, on the other hand there is a modern trend to connect gluten-free diet with healthy lifestyle and weight loss or shows gluten as human health endangering substance. Bachelor thesis complies recent data in literature about single nosologic units that require adherence to the gluten-free diet, as well as legitimacy or unfounded exclusion of gluten from diet without any medical cause.
Gluten-free diet - facts and myths.

The aim of this bachelor thesis was to gain a comprehensive view of the gluten-free diet and to confirm or refute the claim that the gluten-free diet became a fashion trend in nutrition. The theoretical part explains the relationship between gluten-free diet and diseases caused by intolerance of gluten. Greater attention is paid to the most serious of these, celiac disease, whose only treatment is gluten-free diet Research of commonly available sources for the general public has produced a list and description of the most common myths about a gluten-free diet that has been confronted with facts emerging from a medical perspective. Anonymous questionnaire survey was carried out on a sample of customers who bought gluten- free food in the Sklizeno shop, in the Czech National Bank's canteen, on a random sample of people who solve healthy lifestyle and clients of private nutrition counseling with experience with gluten-free diet. The questionnaire looked at awareness of the gluten-free diet, the knowledge about it, the experience, the reasons for the decision-making process. Especially for a group of respondents who maintained a diet without a diagnosed disease whose therapy would be GFD. Gluten-free diet ever held in most of the respondents - 72%. Media Reflection of Current Food Trends

(abstrakt) Cílem bakalářské práce Mediální reflexe současných trendů ve stravování je popsání mediálního obrazu čtyř stravovacích stylů (veganství, vitariánství, paleo diety a bezlepkové diety) na příkladu sedmi online médií (iDNES.cz, Novinky.cz, Blesk.cz, Aktuálně.cz, Deník.cz, Lidovky.cz a IHNED.cz), a to v období od května 2014 do května 2016. Výzkum proběhl použitím metod kvantitativní obsahové analýzy a kvalitativní obsahové analýzy. Kvantitativní analýza odpovídá na otázky týkající se tonality mediálních obsahů, komunikace témat v čase a podle médií a tematického zařazení textů i konkrétních trendů ve stravování. Tato analýza je doplněna kvalitativní metodou, která podrobněji popisuje mediální reflexi vybraných trendů ve stravování.
Non-bioptic diagnosis of coeliac disease and following a gluten free diet

IN ENGLISH This thesis deals with non-biopsy diagnosis of coeliac disease and following the glu-ten-free diet in children. The theoretical part describes basic knowledge about coeliac dise-ase, its incidence, clinical presentation, diagnostics and prevention. This part also describes the principles of gluten- free diet, gluten-free labeling and financial demand of this diet.The research part deals with adherence to the gluten-free diet in pediatric patients both with bi-opsy and non-biopsy diagnosis. The aim of the study is also to determine if there are any differences between those two groups. The data were collected through the questionnaire that was mailed to selected respondents.Thirty eight respondents out of fifty responded to the study. The responses were recorded in a form of graphs. It was found out that 24 % of respondents knowingly violate gluten-free diet. No distinct difference of behaviour in both groups was recorded. 58 % of respondents considered the transition to a gluten-free diet as very challenging. The high costs of gluten-free food were recognized by respondents as the main problem. Quality of patients life with celiac disease

This thesis is dealing with the quality of life of patients with celiac disease. In the theoretical part, I am presenting the characteristics of celiac disease and I am describing its history briefly. For better orientation in the issue, I also joined a description of the anatomy of the small intestine and pathophysiology of celiac disease. In this thesis I am also dealing with incidence of disease, etiology and risk factors participating in the development of celiac disease, symptoms and the different forms, which are related to celiac disease, as well as potential complications and prognosis of celiac disease. An irreplaceable is the role of nurses in diagnosis and targeted screening for celiac disease, therapy and prevention, dispensarization and education of patients with celiac disease about gluten-free diet. I am also describing the problems that patients with celiac disease may encounter in everyday life. Last but not least I am focusing on the general concept of quality of life and also on the quality of life related to health and celiac disease. It focuses primarily on celiac sprue, describes the disease, its clinical manifestations, symptoms, complications, methods of investigation, diagnosis and treatment. Part of the thesis deals with relationship of gluten to other diseases such as gluten sensitivity or autism.
