Sons of Smil of Lichtenburk

This diploma thesis will study life and action Smil of Lichtenburk's sons under the reign the last Przemislid kings Wenceslas II. and Wenceslas III., but especially in the context Henry of Carinthia's reign. The first part is devoted to coming the lords of Lichtenburg to the area of the Bohemian-Moravian highlands, which is connected primarily with Smil of Lichtenburg. In the following chapters it maps activities Smil of Lichtenburg's sons in the economic and political sphere of observed period. Study period was indikative defined years 1280 - 1310 with knowledge of overlaps to the period previous and next after the defined years. With regard to death Smil of Lichtenburg's youngest sons, which died in 1313, more precisely in 1329, touch this diploma thesis also John Luxembourgish's reign. There is observating destiny of mentioned descendant. Aim of this diploma thesis is try to bring a new view on the real persons of lords of Lichtenburg and primaly to their signifikance for Henry of Carinthia's reign. To the achievement this aim was using heuristic methody of gathering sources, which relate to this issues, and also relevant historical literature. Based on the study of sources and historical literature we can say, that all sons of Smil of Lichtenburg more or less affected to the Henry of Carinthia's reign....
Education in Austrian aristocratic families from the beginning of 19th century to the 1st half of 20th century

The thesis deals with the education in austrian aristocratic families in the 19th century and in the 1st half of 20th century. The education and upbringing of children had been influented by plenty of factors. The most important factors, which influenced education, were the environment (home or boarding school), specialization of education, the selection of schools and universities and the language of education, too. Parents, nannys and private teachers also had some influence on the upbringing of the children. In the 19th century we can find some common characteristic in some of the noble families (The Schwarzenbergs, the Sternbergs, the Mensdorffs and some others). The 1st half of the 20th century is an essential period for the history of aristocracy. Political changes reflected in its lifestyle and partially in the upbringing and education of the children of the aristocrats. These changes are illustrated on the education of children in the family of prince Johann Schönburg-Hartenstein. The Berka Family of Dubá Under the Jagiellonian Rule

The bachelor thesis deals with the development of the Ronov family and mainly its subsequent branching. In the introduction, the work focuses on the emergence of the nobility and later on its subsequent operation in the Jagiellonian period. The Ronov family is presented, its "mythical" ancestors according to medieval chronicles and subsequently proven members of the family. The work mainly follows the Berka family of Dubá, its influence and property during the reign of the Přemyslids, Luxemburgs, during the Hussite storms and mostly during the reign of George of Poděbrady and during the reign of the Jagiellons on the Czech throne. In whose time he will focus on the court and the chief judge of court Jaroslav Berka of Dubá. The work tries to map the changing possessions of the family, the issue of marriage, frequent names in the family and the gradual fall of formerly powerful masters until the 18th century, when their influence declines and family members are almost in oblivion. The everyday life of the Reneissance aristocrat from the view of Václav Budovec of Budov

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to describe the everyday life of an aristocrat in the early modern period, focusing on the fate of Václav Budovec of Budov as an example. It intends to explore his life and reveal any yet unknown facts about him. Firstly, the basic biografic infomation will be shortly outlined. Deeper attention to each one of the aspects of aristocrat life is going to be brought in the main part of the thesis with protruding concentration on his education, grand tours, wedding and marriage, career, property and credit business, conception of leisure and lastly perception of death.
The dispute over the unrealized marriage of Peter II. of Švamberk and Eliška of Žerotín

Annotation The goal this bachelor theses The dispute over the unrealized marriage of Peter II. of Švamberk and Eliška of Žerotín is to describe the events, that happened after Ludmila Žerotín of Kolovrat had married her daughter Eliška to Ladislav Berka of Dubé in 1604. Peter II. of Švamberk was interested in Eliška since her early age, and her mother betrothed her to him. Švamberk perceived the marriage of his betrothed Eliška as a public shame, which he decided to solve by a trial. The first part thesis deals with the universal development of the nobility in the Czech Kingdom, their marriage strategies, how much was a choice of the partner a strategic verdict and what aspects played relevant role. In the second part, the thesis watches the course of the dispute at the wider royal council, the involvement of the participated people on both sides and the arguments of the individual sides. The theses will attempt to interpret the dispute in a context of researches of the aristocratic honor and free religious clashes, because unlike the evangalist Petr II. of Švamberk, Ladislav Berka was convinced catholic.
History of the Chroustovice Manor

I focused on the general view of the manor in my thesis. Chroustovice wasn't an important manor. Due to this fact, it has never been written the work of a similar character. This thesis is personal to me because I have spent my life in Chroustovice. In the thesis I described historical, artistic, economical, social and ecclesial development of the manor. I described the changing of the owners of the manor. I tried to map trade with the surrounding villages and their belonging with the manor. I focused on the building of Chroustovice manorhouse, which was the centre of the manor, and it still dominates the village. I tried to collected the fate of the most prominent local natives. I tried to synthesize sources and literature. I enriched my thesis with rumors and stories that are still circulating in the region until today.
The Art and patronage of the family Dobřenský from Dobřenice in the Eastern Bohemia

This bachelor thesis deals with the sacral art and the patronage of the family of lower aristocracy, who later become a count family, Dobřenský of Dobřenice in the territory of present-day eastern Bohemia. It focuses not only on the formal analysis and description of larger or smaller sacral structures, but also on the fate of significant members of the Dobřenský family. The main attention is paid to the church of St. Kliment in Dobřenice, in particular to its interior decoration. In the next chapters, the work focuses on other monuments connected with the Dobřenský family in places that they managed in the past: Neděliště, Ouhrov or Uhelná Příbram, as well as works of applied art.
