Procedural generation of levels for a realtime stealth game
Sedlák, Filip ; Černý, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Pilát, Martin (referee)
Levels in realtime stealth games are often tightly interconnected struc- tures with unique challanges and lock & key puzzles. However, there are no well known instances that attempt to generate these levels procedurally. We implement a small generic 3D realtime stealth game and a level genera- tion algorithm for it. Our game is composed of mechanics commonly found in most stealth centric games. Our generated levels resemble levels from modern stealth games in complexity and interconnectedness. They contain unique challenges for the player. Some generated level sections have short- comings, but are always playable. In summary, we believe our algorithm succeeded as a proof of concept and can be used in actual stealth games with additional content. Moreover, we contributed a concrete implementation of the cyclic generation algorithm, where the original source is vague on imple- mentation details. Our algorithm can be used to generate levels for stealth games, RPGs, and other genres that make use of lock & key puzzles.
A special educator and a psychologist in every school? Institutionalisation of support teaching positions in primary schools
Panák, Petr ; Mouralová, Magdalena (advisor) ; Černý, Jakub (referee)
The thesis focuses on the policy of institutionalisation of support teaching positions, which extends school special educators and school psychologists to primary schools and tries to ensure the stability of professions of the support teaching positions. The thesis focuses on the piloting of institutionalisation in small primary schools with 20-179 pupils, where schools are provided with support teaching positions by pedagogical-psychological counselling centres. The aim is to describe the functioning of the institutionalisation model and to understand how it is perceived by school special educators, school psychologists and heads of pedagogical- psychological counselling centres. The thesis is framed by two theoretical concepts: the street- level bureaucracy and the theory of accountability. The thesis uses various data sources, from questionnaires to interviews, public policy documents, and administrative data. Based on these data, the thesis concluded that it has not yet been possible to ensure a sufficient expansion of support teaching positions into schools, mainly due to the lack of qualified staff nor the professional stability of support teaching positions, as these do not have the certainty of continuation of institutionalisation in 2025. At the same time, the role of pedagogical- psychological...
Structural insights into 14-3-3 dependent regulation of ubiquitin ligase Nedd4-2
Tekel, Andrej ; Obšilová, Veronika (advisor) ; Bouřa, Evžen (referee)
The journey of an eukaryotic protein typically begins in a ribosome and ends in a proteasome. What happens in between is a great diversity of functions that makes life possible, but the fate of most proteins is to be eventually degraded. A key components in this process are ubiquitin ligases. This thesis aims to provide more insight into the molecular basis of regulation of one such protein, the Nedd4-2. Nedd4-2 is a member of the Nedd4 subfamily within the HECT family of ubiquitin ligases. Its most famous ubiquitination target is the Epithelial sodium channel, ENaC. It was reported that 14-3-3 protein and calcium modulate this and other interactions of Nedd4-2, but many questions remain to be answered about the structural basis of this regulation. Aiming to bring more insight at the molecular level, we performed measurements of small-angle x-ray scattering, analytical ultracentrifugation and hydrogen-deuterium exchange. Our conclusions bring new understanding in the area of ubiquitin ligases and for example can be applied in the new promising field of PROTAC drug design. Keywords: Nedd4-2, 14-3-3 protein, calcium, protein interactions
The history of Rokytnice nad Rokytnou in the first half of the 20th century
Herbrych, Petr ; Čechurová, Jana (advisor) ; Stehlík, Michal (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the history of Rokytnice nad Rokytnou, a small town situated in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands ten kilometres from the town of Třebíč. The focus is on the first half of the 20th century, which brought significant events in this village. The thesis itself deals with the history of Rokytnice nad Rokytnou from many points of view. The demographic development and development of the municipality, the functioning of local self-government, the activities of emerging associations and the operation of two age-old institutions, namely the school and the parish, are examined. There is also an insight into everyday life in the local village. The destinies of many Rokytnice families were also influenced by war conflicts and two totalitarian regimes. Rokytnice is largely affected by events from the early 50's in the Třebíč region. In connection with the so-called Babice case, the priest Jan Bula and the twenty years old Drahoslav Němec were executed, and nine of Rokytnice citizens and one native were also sent to prison. The diploma thesis also deals with the impact of the mentioned events on local citizens. The events in Rokytnice nad Rokytnou also influenced each other with the surrounding villages, especially Chlístov, Markvartice and Římov. For this reason, these villages are...
Business model of a small business directed by Markéta Lukáčová with an accent on a marketing plan
Lukáč, Vojtěch ; Koudelková, Petra (advisor) ; Moravcová, Hana (referee)
The main goal of this thesis was to describe the main fields of the business model and create a marketing plan for the small enterprise managed by Mrs. Lukáčová. The thesis firstly describes the theoretical framework of small enterprises in the Czech Republic and in the European Union. It briefly describes the form of the business model and the marketing plan, which will be used in the proposal parts of this thesis. Then a characterization of the business, offered products and services takes place. In the methodological parts thanks to two qualitative methods the perceptions of new and loyal customers are tested in connection with the business of Mrs. Lukáčová. Beforehand the situational analysis take place, namely the threat and opportunity matrix, SWOT analysis and PESTLE analysis. The description of marketing communication of the enterprise of Mrs. Lukáčová and competition is performed right after. In the proposal part of the business model the main necessities are written down in the template of Business Model Canvas. It mainly takes into account the actual situation of the business and then serves as a material that could help the implementation of new realities. Mainly the value proposition, where core values will be found, is appropriate for future marketing communication. In the proposal...
Developmental screening test of early literacy: MiniMABEL
Pustková, Martina ; Málková, Gabriela (advisor) ; Nováková Schöffelová, Miroslava (referee)
The presented master's thesis focuses on the developm ent of literacy skills in preschool children whose native language is Czech and who have no diagnosed language impairments. The overview chapters address the theoretical foundations and constructs we used for developing subtests and items for the newly developed screening tool, MiniMABEL. The methodological section includes a description of the study's design and schedule, as well as a description of the development of the test's design. This includes an initial testing of tasks on a small sample of children (N=20), based on which the tasks were revised into the analyzed test design. The research conducted on a sample of children meeting the defined parameters (N=78) addresses three research objectives. The first objective is to examine the psychometrics properties of the proposed instrument, describe typical performance, and assess the sensitivity of the tests for the proposed use. The second objective involves proposing score thresholds for identifying children at risk of impaired literacy skills development. The third objective is to provide recommendations for modifying subtests and formulate basic guidelines for further development of the test battery. The results are based on descriptive statistics, frequency and item analysis and internal...
Competing risk models in survival analysis
Macoun, Jaromír ; Komárek, Arnošt (advisor) ; Kulich, Michal (referee)
We study the extension of methods from classical survival analysis to competing risks. These methods can be used to analyse time-to-event data. Firstly, we establish notation, define fundamental concepts and present basic theorems and properties. The second chap- ter explores semiparametric methods for estimating the cumulative incidence function. We compare two methods of estimation: the first treats competing events as censored, while the second takes competing events into account. At the end of the chapter, we prove the asymptotic distribution of the estimator of the cumulative incidence function. Further, we present semiparametric regression methods for estimating cause-specific and subdistribution hazards. Generalisations of the Cox model are used to estimate regres- sion parameters. We introduce proofs of the martingale property for the subdistribution hazard case with complete data. Lastly, we propose a small simulation study to assess the efficiency of the presented nonparametric estimates. Different scenarios with con- stant cause-specific hazards are simulated and visualized. Additionally, there is one more simulation study for semiparametric estimation methods. Two different Cox models with two covariates for cause-specific hazard are assumed. 1
Analysis of product placement in Czech films from 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019 and 2022
Holan, Ondřej ; Kruml, Milan (advisor) ; Štoll, Martin (referee)
The aim of this thesis was to confirm the assumption that with the advent of streaming services, Czech filmmakers will be forced to use product placement more often to increase their budgets after many viewers will go to the cinema less often. It was assumed that the products would be shown in the films in connection with the main character, who would actively use the item for a long time. The defined period for the research was between 2010 to 2022 in order to examine the effect of the enactment of product placement in Czech law and also to examine the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the film industry. The given time span was divided into five consecutive periods each three-years apart. Due to the number of films planned for analysis, the method of quantitative content analysis was used. A significant number of hypotheses have not been confirmed. Only the assumptions that there will be a noticeable increase in the frequency of product placement, an increase in the frequency of unique brands, an increase in the percentage ratio of dominant shot to the remaining shots, and a higher frequency of unique brands in films with lower budgets have been confirmed. The main reasons for the non-confirmation of hypotheses include a small research sample, comparing several periods at once, the situation...
Awareness of food labelling among patients suffering with obesity and diabetes
Hálová, Nikol ; Brunerová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Anděl, Michal (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the awareness of food labelling among patients with obesity and diabetes. The aim of the thesis is to determine the knowledge of these patients about food labelling and their opinions on this topic. Furthermore, the thesis examines the influence of food labelling on the dietary habits of patients with obesity and diabetes, as well as the possibilities for improving awareness of food labelling among these patients. The research was conducted in the form of an anonymous questionnaire, which helped identify the level of knowledge and attitudes of patients with obesity and diabetes towards food labelling. The results showed that awareness of food labelling significantly influences the dietary habits of patients. Patients with higher levels of knowledge about food labelling are more likely to make informed and healthier decisions when choosing foods. The thesis also identified the main barriers that prevented patients from effectively utilizing food labelling, such as small font sizes on labels, complexity of information, and inadequate understanding of labelling. Proposed measures to improve awareness include the implementation of educational programs, practical demonstrations, and interactive workshops focused on proper label reading. Additionally, collaboration with dietitians...
