Studenti Vysoké školy ekonomické na pracovním trhu v průběhu studia v roce 2013
Verner, Marek ; Pavlíček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Štípek, Vladimír (referee)
This thesis describes approach of students of University of Economics in Prague to search employment during their studies, Thesis analysis current situation of students, their motivations and reasons for searching these employments. Theoretical part examines individual supply of work, theory of investing into human capital and employment rate of students of universities. Empirical part is included in form of questionnaire survey among students of the faculty of Economics in University of Economics. Another method is comparison of empirical data with some publications, which deal with the same topic. Additional form of gaining data for thesis is structural interview with personal manager in international company Renault. Thesis didn't confirm hypothesis that students study mainly due to the experience than for financial reward, neither hypothesis that outside Prague students participating in the labor market on a larger scale than Prague's. On the other hand thesis confirmed hypothesis, that students have realistic expectations about their first wage.

Contribution of E. Ostrom focusing on management of public goods
Belinová, Gabriela ; Sirůček, Pavel (advisor) ; Džbánková, Zuzana (referee)
The thesis deals with the contribution of Elinor Ostrom, the Nobel laureate in economics in 2009. Ostrom confirmed that a group of individuals who jointly use a common-pool resource is able to agree on the rules securing the long term sustainability of the resource. This theory was based on her studies of local common property regimes. Common property regime is an alternative to conventional approaches that promote public resource management or transfer to private ownership. It is still not clear whether the possible conclusions which Ostrom reached in the study of systems of common property regimes can be applied to the problems of global scale. Ostrom's contribution lies in her analysis of systems of common property regimes. Partial findings related to human behaviour can be applied to the management of private organizations.

Regional natural history periodicals and their importance for the knowledge of the Czech epigraphic fund
Roháček, Jiří
Regional history periodicals are of a great importance for epigraphic studies of larger than regional scale. This is due to the specific character of epigraphic sources and their connection to works of art and artefacts of material culture. The fact is of a great interpretation value, on the other hand it predeterminates extremely difficult physical availability. Physical availability along with difficult restitution of inscriptions, which are often damaged, rarely enables fieldwork of a larger range and demands to work with various types of secondary approach to inscriptions. Regional periodicals represent a source of a great importance, a lot of material can be found in essays, which are primarily of a „non-epigraphic“ character. After being made properly accessible in bibliographical and other aspects, these essays can contribute with valuable tiles into the Mosaic of secondary sources for epigraphic studies of a larger than regional scale. These essays would be even more fruitful if at least basic editorial principles were followed.

Lichen uses - potentials of the European Guideline for mapping lichen diversity
Svoboda, David
Lichen uses - potentials of the European Guideline for mapping lichen diversity David Svoboda My projects had one common feature, namely the application of the European Guideline for mapping lichen diversity as an indicator of environmental stress (Asta et al. 2002). This methodology was developed in an effort to make a standardised protocol for European screening of epiphytic lichens for various purposes. The dissertation is focused on selected topics and the main objectives can be summarised as follows: 1) To evaluate the potential of the LDV method for determination of general air pollution, and the possibility of applying the new methodology in the Czech Republic. 2) To compare results given by the LDV method and the older qualitative method by Hawksworth and Rose (1970). 3) To determine the principal factors influencing the epiphytic lichen distribution in Central European oak forests, and to elucidate possible correlations among natural and human caused environmental factors in a large scale study. 4) To investigate the epiphytic lichens living in temperate oak forests, their features and possible lichenological differentiations; to determine indicative species for old growth forests and natural woodlands under different climatic conditions and human influence in the Central Europe. 5) To determine...

Proměnnost akreujících zdrojů při vysokém časovém rozlišení
Bursa, Michal
We are carrying out a project to study rapid variability of radiation originating from accreting compact objects. Our goal is to examine fluctuations of the radiation flux occuring on the light-crossing time scales, taking into account effects of strong gravitational field.

Evalution of Q-parameter in the case of microstructurally short fatigue cracks
Seitl, Stanislav
The paper presents evaluation of the elastic-plastic Q-parameter in the case of microstructurally short fatigue cracks, i.e. for cracks for which the crack size is comparable to the scale of the characteristic microstructural dimension such as the grain size. The microstructurally short crack is modelled as a crack with its tip in the vicinity of an interface between two different materials (elastic one and steel 12060), see Fig.1. Q-parameter is calculated by means of direct use of finite element results, namely the difference from the T = 0 reference solution, see Eq.5. Q-parameter is determined as a function of the crack orientation with respect to the interface, the crack length and the ratio of Young's modulus of both materials, see. Fig.1.

Practicing oral and written presentation skills on Czech universities, A Czech-German environment
Hasilová, Helena ; Kouřimská, Milada (advisor) ; Janíková, Věra (referee) ; Váňová, Miroslava (referee)
In "Practicing oral and written presentation skills on Czech universities, A Czech-German environment", the Czech university students' and graduates' presentation skills are discussed, in particular in the context of the students' presenting their research results on international conventions conducted in the German language. This topič is currently very important. Although these skills are practiced in language classes, they are not a direct feature of language on its own. The páper implies that teaching and practicing morphology, syntax, stylistics, connectors and the relevant terminology of the individual professional fíelds is very important for creating and presenting one's work. However, knowing the relevant cultural differences and the generál aspects of human communication is at least just as important. The aim of the analysis given in this páper is to describe the most effective methods of practicing German-language-presentation skills, oral and written, at Czech universities. The author proposes specific methods of text production practice. During the course of his/her university language education, a studenťs language skills move from the B2 to the Cl level, on the scale of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (Cl: ...Flexible use of language on...academie and professional...

Restitution Identity in the Rudé Právo nad Restitution of the Rudé Právo Identity in Year Zero
Šmídová, Olga ; Petrusek, Miloslav (advisor) ; Pavelka, Jiří (referee) ; Kusá, Zuzana (referee)
This dissertation analyses the mass media (the Czech communist press "Rudé právo") discourse of property restitutions one year after the revolution of 1989. The author is inspired by the approaches and procedures of Critical Discourse Analysis in investigating the discursive and extra-discursive practices of the communist/left wing newspaper Rudé Právo. From the perspective of symbolic power as control, she analyzes the newspaper text as well as the social context in which the text was produced. She reconstructs the institutional and organizational transformation of the Rudé Právo daily, whose social position and identity changed radically during 1990, from a Communist Party affiliated propagandist to a private left-wing newspaper. The author links a discursive, narrative, and recursive frame analysis of the Czech communist press with the Boltanski and Thévenot theory of justice and the theory of retrospective/transitional justice. The dissertation describes the establishment of the restitution agenda and successive crystallization of the restitution discourse during "year zero" after November 1989. The author also observes the discursive area on a more general scale, i.e., in the economic reform and transformation discourse. In 1990, the privatization ideology represented the core of the transformation...
