Specifics of swimming teaching children with autism spectrum disorder.

Title: Specifics of swimming teaching children with autism spectrum disorder. Objectives: Application of the structured learning by the concept of common preparatory and basic swimming lessons for children with autism spectrum disorder. Presentation and evaluation of nine case studies and subsequent implementation of policy for teaching swimming to children with autism spectrum disorder. Methods: Analysis of specialized literature, case studies, surveys, interviews, scaling observation and statistics method. Results of the work: Methods of the structured learning support and facilitate the implementation of standard swimming lessons for children with autism spectrum disorder. The case studies confirm the effectiveness of our taught realized swimming lessons. The principles for swimming education of children with autism spectrum disorder are designed based on the above-mentioned examples of swimming lessons. Education for people with autism spectrum disorder in the Czech Republic

This thesis deals with the education of autistic children. It is divided into ten chapters where further presents the history of autism, autistic spectrum disorders division, the diagnosis of autistic spectrum disorders, then focuses on the triad problem areas, which include communication, social behavior and imagination. Another chapter deals with the education of children with autism. The last chapter consists of methods for educating children with autism. In the practical part presents research that I conducted using a questionnaire. Furthermore, there are some interviews with experts on autism and teaching assistants.
Possibilities of Psychosocial Support for Parents of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

The first part of the thesis summarizes theoretical knowledge of the areas that relate to the characteristics of pervasive developmental disorders, as well as chapter focused on family and compensatory mechanisms with the diagnosis and the adoption of a child. Next chapter describe helping professions and it is a brief introduction of specific professions with who I have the opportunity to meet and get to know that their work and the methods used with a target group of preschool children with ASD. I consider the importance of an early intervention in terms of working with the family and the child to be important, therefore, I focus on diagnostic methods and organization APLA Prague and Central Bohemia. I had the opportunity to attend several practices in this organization and I got to know methods of working with clients with autism. Overall, this practice must be assessed as very beneficial. System and work of the organization is actually a good example for practice. I will try to describe this organization in the form of case studies and interviews with families. I then will focus on the social support of families and the financial opportunities that are offered to these families. Remediation of a Family with a Child with Autism Spectrum Disorder

This master's thesis discusses the topic of family with a child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and the support which this family may receive in the Czech Republic. In this context, functions and current functioning of family are described. Furthermore, the text brings information on the causes, manifestations and classification of ASD as well as on various autism spectrum disorders. Reactions of the family to the revelation about child's diagnosis are introduced together with the subsequent problems that the family faces. It also presents support options which families with an ASD-affected child may take advantage of. The following methods are used for the research: questionnaire construction, study of literature and unstructured interviews. The aim of this paper is to create a description of a family with an ASD-affected child and determine whether these families receive the necessary support and whether services provided for them are truly available to them.
Speech and language therapy in persons with an autistic spectrum disorder

The dissertation deals with the issues of speech intervention for the people suffering autistic disorders in the Czech Republic, and is divided in two main chapters - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part sums up the current information related to the terminology, symptomatology, etiology, diagnostics and special-education or therapeutic approach to the individuals with autism spectrum disorder. Due to the orientation of this paper we are taking closer look at the specific features of impaired communication abilities of the selected clientele. The practical part aims at both the analysis of the current situation of speech therapy provided in the Czech Republic and the supply of comprehensive information (recommendations) for its implementation with the people suffering from autistic disorders. Questionnaire was selected as the main method to analyze the speech therapy provided, distributed to three homogenous groups of respondents (clinical speech therapists, special education teachers and parents of the children with autism spectrum disorder). Preparing the teachers for the integration of the children with autistic spektrum disorders into regular primary school

The diploma with title Preparing the teachers for the integration of the children with autistic spektrum disorders into regular primary school aims in its theoretical part acquaint the reader with the concept of autistic spectrum disorders, the classification and individual characteristics closer disorders. It provides an overview of suitable approaches, forms and methods of work with these children, educational opportunities and further aims at integration into mainstream schools. In its research section it aims to penetrate deeper into the issue of preparing teachers to integrate pupils with autism and a description of its subsequent course. Based on qualitative research methods, namely semi-structured interviews and document research presents a collection of opinions, attitudes, experiences, recommendations and advice on how to integrate teachers and school principals, as well as opinions and attitudes of teachers who don't have experience with integration. The results of the investigation could be a base for further research of a quantitative nature.
Identity in Parents of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder Based on Interviews with Parents

This thesis is focused on parents of children with autism spectrum disorder, their parental identity and the factors that affect coping with this difficult situation. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part consists of two consecutive sections. The first section describes the main milestones in the history of autism concept, the development of etiology knowledge and the essential characteristics of mentioned diagnosis. This information is contained for the better understanding of what autism means and what are the parents of autistic children going through. The second section is devoted to the healthy children parents identity, its development, but also parental identity of disabled children parents. The focus is on the factors that affect the acceptance of diagnosis and coping with this fact. The empirical part consists of a qualitative study findings. As a method of research was used semi-structured interview, which we realized with the parents of autistic children in three different families. The goal is to describe the factors that impact parental identity of autistic child parents and to compare it with the known theoretical evidences, all based on real parental reports. Cognitive Processing of a child with Autism

The aim of this work is to describe cognitive processing of a child with autistic spectrum disorder, to pause on its mechanisms and causes. The first part of the work presents a theoretical background for following interpretation of the data acquired in the research. Firstly it briefly defines autistic spectrum disorders, cognitive functioning of individuals with the disorder and above all two main psychological theories of autism: Theory of Mind (S. B. Cohen) and Weak Central Coherence Theory (U. Frith). The second part of the work recounts a process of the research. Its focus lies in a long-lasting work with a girl with autistic spectrum disorder and a girl from intact population. The both girls went through standard theory of mind tests, reading exams aimed at apprehension and mathematic written exercises. Research data come mainly from following interviews with the girls and observation of their procedure of thinking. Gained data were confronted with the mentioned psychological theories of autism. Final analysis shows typical characteristics of cognitive processing of the particular child with autism: detail focusing, physical thinking and perseverance.
Extracurricular activities for children and youth with autism spectrum disorders

Diplomová práce seznamuje s jednotlivými symptomy a typy pervazivních vývojových poruch. Předkládá možnosti využití široké škály různých přístupů či programů při práci s těmito žáky. Věnuje se hře ve spojení s poruchami autistického spektra a s využitím volného času v rámci školy, rodiny či projektu. Práce nastiňuje jednotlivá úskalí mimoškolních aktivit dětí a mládeže s poruchami autistického spektra. Zdůrazňuje, jakou významnou pozici mimoškolní aktivity v životě dětí a mládeže zastupují a jak důležité jsou pro všestranný rozvoj. Dále mapuje volnočasové aktivity, kterým se věnují děti a mládež s poruchami autistického spektra v rámci rodiny, školy a nejrůznějších projektů. Nedílnou součástí mimoškolních činností se stává hra, kterou lze využít jako jednu z možných forem práce s dětmi a mládeží s poruchami autistického spektra. Volný čas a hra se také prolíná návrhem projektu, který je součástí diplomové práce. Projekt nese název: "Společná škola v přírodě".
