Petrášek, Michal ; Skupnik, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Ulrychová, Marta (referee) ; Vrhel, František (referee)
ENGLISH ABSTRACT This thesis deals with sexual behavior of young people from fifteen till twenty-five years in the Czech Republic. Their activities are evaluated and interpreted from anthropological perspective of passage rituals. The official passage rituals of adulthood were eliminated in the western society and one universal passage ritual was crumbled in inexhaustible assemblage of particular unofficial hazy and often unclear ritual actions. This transformation begins because the man is according to Mary Douglas a ritual animal and the ritual suppressed in one form appears in another on even stronger. In this large assemblage of passage rituals of adulthood we can include for example dancing courses, school- leaving examination, gaining of the driving licence, smoking, drinking alcohol or just sexual activity. In the period of adolescence we can mark this activity as ritual because it has not the clear utilitarian procreative aim. This work presents original field research which bears on two main pillars: 1. on the quantitative questionnaire investigation and 2. on qualitative questionnaire investigation. The quantitative research was made in the secondary schools in Pilsen region and its main part count one hundred-eighty eight respondents. The research was going on during the year 2008 - 2009. The bachelor thesis deals with the problems of sex education in a family and at school. In a theoretical part in introduces a definition of sex education and historical development in the Czech Republic since 1948 and further discusses its subject, methods, goals and obstacles of sex education in the institutions mentioned above. In the empirical part it presents a view of my communication partners representing two generations on the definition of sex education, the process of their own sex education and the idea of an ideal process of sex education in light of age and the depth of provided information. The research shows that they by the term sex education they understand especially those aspects that are related to one's sex life, e. g. organs of reproduction, contraception, sexual adolescence and pregnancy. According to the communication partners, the first information about sex education mediates especially school, but in an ideal case, it should be the family. That indicates the differences between the real process of sex education and the ideal case, which is also mentioned by the specialists. Even though there are still some imperfections in sex education both in a family and at school, a positive shift toward incorporation of sex education into a family environment can be seen.

Queer geography of Czechia: Heteronormativity of space
Pitoňák, Michal ; Šiftová, Jana (advisor) ; Matoušek, Roman (referee)
Drawing on rigorous foreign, both Western and non-Western, literature, this thesis introduces sexuality and its connected spatial conceptualizations to Czech geography. In the beginning of the theoretical part, I discuss the framework under which geography studies sexuality. Then, I discuss the crucial terminology while pointing out at some changes in it. After understanding some of the major terminological issues, I delve into a description of the multiple and diverse development of sexuality related geographies. Focusing on queer geography, I delineate the queer standpoint and concentrate on understanding the spatial construction of sexuality in space while unveiling the heteronormativity of space. Using the queer approach, I implicitly deconstruct the binary of public and private space by pointing out at its spuriousness regarding the sexuality. I present a queer bar as a typical queer space while revealing the sexual closetedness of LGBTIQ people. Then I introduce the school environment as, for the time being, a typical heteronormative space and institution. In the end of the theoretical part, I discuss the queer practices of destabilizing heteronormativity both at school and in public space. In the empirical part of the thesis, I discuss the methodology of my internet based chain-referral...
