Artistic creation of the German artist Fritz Gärtner and his influence on the Northern Bohemian region

(in English): This thesis seeks to examine the state of the fine art in North Bohemia region at the turn of the 20th century. The period is dominated by romantic and realistic landscape art, which was also the domain of Fritz Gärtner. The thesis furthermore illuminates the life of German artists before and after the World War I in this region. The work focuses on Metznerbund group as it is considered the major movement among the German artists within the given period. Following chapters aim to illuminate the state of the fine art in North Bohemia region after the Second World War.The practical part of the thesis examines the life and work of a Sudeten German painter Fritz Gärtner: his early work from his hometown Ústí nad Labem, his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and his first considerable exhibition named Arbeit (Labor). The research provides us with new findings that complement previous findings from my bachelor's thesis, which was focused on interpretation of selected Gärtners paintings, resulting in a complete monography of the Sudeten German painter. The research was based on secondary literature concerning the fine art in North Bohemia region and provides a broad scale of new facts about the artistic creation and life of painters within fine art associations in the 20th century.

Abstract The dissertation addresses the issue of architecture in municipal housing built between the two wars in the town of Ústí nad Labem. From mid-nineteenth century the North Bohemian industrial agglomeration, populated mostly by Germans, experienced unprecedented urban and demographic growth. Thus, between 1919 and 1938, the municipality developed a comprehensive project of approximately one hundred buildings. The thesis identifies relations and balanced proportions between a formal analysis of the individual stages of development and a study of their broader historical context. The method of art-historical analysis is applied, whereby the projects are chronologically classified and their urban, typological and chronological aspects are assayed and assessed. The thesis also focuses on the identity of the author, the architect of German origin Franz J. Arnold. The architecture of the Ústí municipal housing complex was designed as a concretization of the social democratic political programme and of the state housing policy, it carries therefore a contents of political significance. Unfinished higway D8: traffic, environmental and economical consequences

This bachelor thesis deals with the unfinished D8 highway, especially the section headed through the protected landscape area of České středohoří, and with the problems arising from this situation. The theoretical part is devoted to describing the negative effects caused by vehicle traffic, possibilities of their elimination and the history of highway construction with the other alternatives. In the empirical part is solved the traffic situation on congested roads that substitute this unfinished section and the resulting consequences in terms of emission. Czechs and Germans in Ústí nad Labem in the 20th century. History and historiographical reflexion.

This bachelor thesis deals with the coexistence of Czechs and Germans in Ústí nad Labem in the 20th century. In the first part of this thesis, I will focus on social and cultural aspects of Czech-German coexistence and pay attention to the associations, organisations and facilities which are depicted in the backround of historical events in the mentioned period. I also refered to the political development and changes in the composition of its population since the beginning of German colonization until 1950. The second part deals with the reflection of the current Czech-German coexistence in the region, particularly at the workplaces of the local University of Jan Evangelista Purkyně and in the projects of the Collegium Bohemicum. It also outlined how Usti nad Labem will participate in the Czech-German issues in the near future.

Supporting the tourism in the Ústí region after 2000

The diploma thesis is aimed to tourism and its development in case studies by the Ústí region and the town of Ústí nad Labem. In the theoretical frame, definitions utilized in case studies are defined. Devoted to the Ústí region, the case study analyzes conceptual documents, dealing with tourism and its development as well as its priorities and measures. The study then describes a new regional project, called "Gate into Bohemia" (and new destination agencies together with it). The chapter is finished with future plans of the Ústí region. Similarly, development documents are analyzed in Ústí nad Labem, emphasizing tourism and projects, realized by the municipality in terms of tourism or revitalizing the town (as well as possible future plans again). Another chapter deals with the structure of tourism concepts; its basis is represented by the author's own proposal, compared with selected concepts of the region and town.

Impact Analysis of Location on the Market Value of Housing Units in Selected Locations

The thesis focuses on the comparison of selected methods for valuated property type apartment. Valuating apartments are located in areas Decin, Ústí nad Labem and Most. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of basic terms, a description of the valuation methods associated with this dissertation and description of locations for the sites in terms of historical, cultural, social and economic. The practical part was to prepare drawings of assessed residential units and subsequent determination of prices of selected valuation methods – comparative method price by 2014 and 2015, by direct comparison and revenue method. In conclusion, the comparison of prices, according to the valuation method sused.

The economic contribution of sports events to the development of tourism in Olomouc and Ústí nad Labem

This Bachelor thesis analyzes the importance of organizing urban runs Runczech.com (Ústí nad Labem 1/2 Marathon and Olomouc 1/2 Marathon) to increase the economic benefits of tourism in the cities of Olomouc and Ústí nad Labem and their regions. In the theoretical part, the emphasis is put on the explanation of related issues such as tourism, its economic importance, the relation between tourism and regional development and the organization of activities and events. The practical part describes the socio-economic analysis of the two regions Ústí nad Labem and Olomouc. It also shows the economic impact of runs in both cities, a survey analysis and an evaluation of the Runczech.com runs overall impact on the economy of the Czech republic. The goal is to assess whether the organization of urban runs has a positive impact on tourism and whether it contributes to the economy of the whole region.

Faktory ovlivňující úspěšnost regenerace brownfields na území města Ústí nad Labem

The subject of this thesis is the issue of brownfields in the city of Usti nad Labem. The aim of the paper is the analysis of the current state of these fields and exploration of factors influencing restoration. The paper includes a discussion with experts on the given issue and suggests possible ways to use the brownfield areas. The study begins with a theoretical definition of the concept of brownfields, which is then further broken down. There is also an evaluation of the reason for the choice of this location and the present state of its restoration. It is hoped that this analysis will be beneficial to the city of Usti nad Labem. Representatives of the city were actively involved in the study and the author hopes that the analysis and discussion results will be useful to them.

The development of cycling on Elbe Cycling Path

The Master's Thesis deals with the problem of the development of cycling on Elbe Cycling Path. The theoretical part is explaining the basic temrs of cyling, functioning of financing and managing of cycling in the CR and finally The Elbe Cycling Path his introduced from the perspective of history and future developement. The practical part is focusing on particular section of the trail between Litoměřice and Ústí nad Labem. This section of cycling path is analyzed and it is also subject of individual survey. Eventually author proposes some measures to solve problems of Elbe Cycling Path, that could contribute to the developement of cycling on Elbe Cycling Path.
