The issue of prevention and early detection for patients with vertebrogenic syndrome in the cervical spine
HORKÁ, Michaela
This bachelor thesis deals with preventive measures and early detection of the vertebrogenic algic syndrome in the cervical spine. Vertebrogenic algic syndrome is a pain in different parts of the spine, which is one of the most common reasons for doctor visits. An alarming fact is that up to 80% of adults face these difficulties up and age of patients is constantly decreasing. Most common cause is poor posture, cervical spine injuries, mental health, degenerative changes, tumors and more. Part of this work is devoted to the prevention of vertebral problems. In these modern times, when the use of computers, laptops, tablets, became the ordinary matter, it is necessary to raise awareness of the basic ergonomic principles when using these devices, modifying work and home environment. The theoretical part is supposed to inform about the causes, mechanisms and physiotherapy practice in the treatment of vertebrogenic algic syndrome. It includes basic knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics of the cervical spine and preventive measures concerning the ergonomics of the working environment, sleeping position and appropriate sports activities. For the practical part of the thesis has been used qualitative research method. Qualitative research was done in the form of case studies of three persons. Each was subjected to an input and output kinesiology examination and history-taking in the form of a structured interview. The probands were interviewed regarding home and work ergonomics. The therapy lasted five weeks at the Health centre Medipont in České Budějovice. The task of the practical part was to use physiotherapy techniques to alleviate pain in a particular segments of the cervical spine and report about basic preventive measures. The result is the production of an educational booklet that contains exercises to stretch and release the cervical spine, basic ergonomic positions accompanied by photographs. This brochure will be available at the front desk at the Health centre Medipont in České Budějovice, in waiting rooms of general practitioners in Jemnice as a practical and synoptical helper in the fight against the problems in the cervical spine. This bachelor thesis could increase an awareness among general public about preventive measures and how to prevent pain in the cervical spine. Furthermore, it can be used by clinical practice physiotherapists in the treatment of vertebrogenic algic syndrome.

Dalits and their situation in contemporary Indian culture
Vrubelová, Jana ; Soukup, Martin (referee) ; Soukup, Václav (advisor)
The subject of the thesis is theoretical and empirical analysis of contemporary situation of the Dalits in India. Dalits are social group which stands at the bottom of the Hindu caste society. Till the end of the colonial era in India they used to be called "the untouchables" and their touch was considered polluting. They were made to do ritual as well as practical polluting job such as scavenging, burning dead bodies, leatherworks etc. With the establishment of Indian secular state the practice of the "untouchability" was banned and made illegal. Today they call themselves the Dalits, which means "the downtrodden". In spite of the affirmative policy of the Indian state they are still treated as the second class citizens. The thesis deals with theoretical and empirical analysis of the Dalits's situation in contemporary Indian culture. The issue is first introduced through historical analysis and then it is contextualized in wider cultural perspectives. Further the strategy of the Dalits in their facing up towards to the traditional oppression of Hindu society is parsed. Empirical part of the thesis consists of empirical research sampler realized among the members of the studied community at University of J. Nehru in New Delhi. The comprehensive elaboration is not the main aim of my thesis but I would like...

Distributed Behavior Protocol Checker
Poch, Tomáš ; Adámek, Jiří (referee) ; Kofroň, Jan (advisor)
Growth of the computability power in the last years enabled practical use of model checking of software systems. However the state space explosion is still a burning problem that limits usage of this technique to the relatively small tasks. One of the approaches that significantly decrease state space of the task is Behavior Protocol [1]. Behavior protocol is regular language that describes behavior of software component so that component implementation details are hidden during checking of whole application - what is reduced to the checking whether behavior protocols of used components are compliant. However even checking of behavior protocols compliance faces the exponential growth of number of states. Distributed state space traversing together with 'on the fly' state space generation [2] can be used to improve both time and space requirements.

JIROUSKOVA, Klara. Humane attitude to the dying patient in nursing. Bachelor's work The topic, I've chosen for my bachelor's work is dealing with problems in humane attitude of nursing staff to the dying patient. The study is dedicated to those, who are daily faced to death on their wards, and feel themselves not to be familiar with appropriate approach to the dying patient- mostly to the medical staff in hospitals. This bachelor's work is composed of two parts - theoretical and empirical. In the first, theoretic part, I've focused on the process of dying, with it's stages, on the patient's reactions to the threatening death, and also on the mental changes, dying man have to go through in this process. The study is concerning the specific needs of terminally ill patients, as well as, the possibilities of psychological help. Particular attention is paid to the euthanasia, to the palliative and hospice care. The study is trying to clarify, that euthanasia, with respect to the palliative and hospice care, can not be regarded as a "dignified death". Study deals also with the "burn out" syndrome that usually affects nursing staff taking care mostly of critically ill patients, pointing out its causes, process, and possible prevention. The last part shows the death phenomenon, as an eliminative mean of...

From Dispair to Hope
Dittertová, Ludmila ; Ovečka, Libor (advisor) ; Štica, Petr (referee)
"From despair to expectation" The quick development of science and technic during the last century brought a variety of new technologic strategies in many fields of human activities. The face transplantation is the last innovation of transplant surgery branch. The aim of this operation is to help seriously mutilated people (e.g. face tumors, injuries) and bring them back to common life. But on the other hand, these new methods entailing many ethic, medical and legal consequences. In this study, I tried to describe the short story of eleven patients who were operated as the first in the world. Be based on their tragic life experience, I tried to vindicate the decision of both patients and specialists to undergo the realization of this serious surgical intervention. Thermic injuries in adults
BĚTÁKOVÁ, Pavlína
Burns is a type of injury which is lawfully regarded as one of the heaviest injuries in the area of human traumatology. This kind of thermic injury has already damaged many human lives and left many psychical and physical consequences. Injuries of this kind require the most complicated, longest and thus the most expensive treatment. Some burned clients are deformed by scars for life and gradually start to realize their social limitation. Crucial part in these cases is played by good family background and simultaneously sensitive attitude of society, which has a significant influence on the patient life quality. As a consequence of this injury most people tend to insulate from society and simultaneously change his or her value system and life style. From the psychic point of view the most serious are the cases where on the basis of thermic effect affection and deformity of face occurred. . The people affected like this are frustrated by views of strange people who are determined to have two types of feelings-antipathy or sympathy. The aim of my thesis was to map the level of burned people knowledge of prevention measures and laic first aid during thermic injuries. Research group was created by the clients of The Burn Medicine Clinic at Královské Vinohrady, who were hospitalized or treated as outpatients in consequence of thermic injury from 1 August to 31 October 2007. The collection of data was carried out by means of anonymous questionnaire. With the view of this I asked the personnel of the clinic for cooperation; the personnel took willingly charge of the mediator and continued to distribute the questionnaires to clients older than eighteen years, who were affected by thermic injury. The clients filled in 95 questionnaires of the total number of 150 (63.34%); filled in questionnaires were used for the processing of experimental part of my thesis. The final part of this thesis will be the processing of an information leaflet proposal concerning the primary prevention and administration of laic first aid at thermic injuries; this leaflet may be applied in terms of certain prevention programmes or in the area of further research.

Ontogenetic changes of the face.
Benešová, Eliška ; Eliášová, Hana (advisor) ; Dvořák, Daniel (referee)
The human face is characterized by a combination of morphological characters, which are unique for each individual. These characters are subject to change during ontogeny influenced by age, pathological conditions, injuries. The aim of this diploma thesis was an observation of age changes in the face of individuals in the age range from one to eighteen. Resource material were black and white photographs of girls and boys. Analysis of age changes in facial area was performed using methods of geometric morphometrics, specifically thin plate spine (TPS). The shape analysis confirmed, that between age and face shape exists significant relationship. It was found, that is mainly due to significant changes in height and width ratios. Face extends and narrows, forehead height is reduced and lower jaw grows to lenght. Facial changes are also influenced by the sex of individuals, while for girls the overall growth in the face stopps about age of fifteen, for boys continues to the age of eighteen years. Keywords Geometric morphometrics, thin plate spline, ontogenetic development of the face, age changes.
