Changing role of Quebec in French politics

This thesis deals with transformations of French foreign policy towards Québec and Canada. The first president of the French Fifth Republic, Charles de Gaulle, as well as all his successors together with their administration supported Québec's international ambitions and its desire to be sovereign abroad in the areas that fall within its competence in internal politics according to the Canadian Constitution. This support took place mainly on the platform of Francophonie. In 1995, the presidential candidate at that time, Jacques Chirac, clearly supported sovereingty movement. After the referendum won by the federalists France started to gradually reconcile with the federal government of Canada in various international politics issues such as protection of cultural diversity and multilateralism. France is also worried that in case of Canada's separation, the English speaking rest of the country would get more easily under the influence of the United States of America. France does not intend to admit this scenario. Jacques Chirac during this twelve-year mandate was gradually deepening the cooperation with Ottawa. Nevertheless, Québec remains the privileged partner of France in the fields of culture and education that are key for French foreign policy. Business and Cultural Specifics of Québec

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to approach the specifics of the Canadian province Québec in the field of economics, culture and business. The first chapter contains general information about this province, such as geography, history and demography. The second chapter analyzes the economic situation in Quebec, i.e. macroeconomic indicators, foreign trade and single sectors. The third chapter focuses on Québec's cultural aspects, including cultural dimensions by Geert Hofstede. The purpose of the fourth chapter is to describe a business meeting with a québec counterpart. This business meeting is then compared to a business meeting in other parts of Canada. The last chapter is practical and is divided into two parts. The first part includes an interview with a Canadian bank manager and the other one includes a survey of public awareness of Québec.
Québec souvereignty: is it still possible from political and economical perspective?

The aim of this thesis is to answer the question, whether Québec still has a chance to become independent one day? Firt part of the thesis shows theoretical definitions of nationalism, minorities, conflicts and possible solutions. Then there are historical relationships and conflict between anglophone and francophone people. Second part analysis québec´s separatism and his political support. Last part is dedicated to possible economical consequences if Québec separates from Canada.
Fiduciary funds - legal, accounting and tax aspects in selected states

The master´s thesis focuses on fiduciary funds (svěřenské fondy) in the Czech Republic and trusts in the Canadian province of Quebec and Great Britain. First, a brief history of these funds and trusts is given, followed by an explanation of their importance, their basic characteristics, and the specific laws pertaining to them, with an emphasis on the differences between civil law and common law. Furthermore, the thesis investigates these trusts for accounting and tax purposes. Throughout the thesis, each chapter is concluded by a comparison of the fiduciary funds in the Czech Republic and trusts in Quebec and Great Britain in order to explore the similarities and differences in each observed area.
The present position of Quebec: is the independence possible?

The objective of this thesis lies in analyzing the contemporary political situation in Quebec, in the light of the possibility of the Quebec secession from Canada. In the thesis four research questions were specified. The main question will assess what are the actual solutions to the current status of Quebec. This question is connected with three sub-questions. Will be held a referendum on Quebec independence? Does the eventual referendum have a chance of successful result? The last question is looking for an answer whether the territorial autonomy strengthens the integrity of Canada or rather strengthens the nationalist movements. The work is divided into three chapters. The first chapter deals with the definition of the cardinal expressions and definitions of multi-ethnic coexistence issues, ethnic conflict and its solutions. The second chapter describes the transformation of the constitutional status of Canada and Quebec within Canada. The final part analyzes the nationalist movements, the success of Quebec political parties and the position of the separatist Quebec Party.

The theme of this bachelor thesis is Students' slang in the Quebec French - formal and semantic analysis. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part focuses on the history of Quebec French and on the major differences between French used in France and French used in Quebec. It also contains definition of the most important linguistic terminology used later in analysing the Quebec slang. In the practical part you can find the research of students' slang in Quebec. There is also a complete corpus of expressions used which contains a comparison with French from France and suggestions of Czech translation. The thesis is completed with a French-Czech glossary.

The Thesis deals with freedom and rights of employees in the Canadian province of Québec. The first part characterizes the law in Québec and specifies the system of law in this province. The second part concerns the discrimination and the guarantee of rights and freedom. The topics of the third part are accommodative remedy, its future development, the relation with the increasing number of immigrants and some obstructions that the accommodation has to face sometimes. At the same time, it offers some propositions to accommodate effectively in order to maintain the development and prosperity of a corporation. The Thesis goes along with case studies that illustrate the problems with particular examples from reality.
