Burianová, Zuzana ; Hošková, Blanka (advisor) ; Strnad, Pavel (referee)
6 Abstract Title: Effect of deep stabilization system on the musculoskeletal system Objectives: The aim of the study is to demonstrate the influence of therapeutic interventions on the deep stabilization system using investigative techniques and principles used used in practice in physiotherapy. Methods: This thesis has been characterized as a case study. It is based on an experimental basis in the form of qualitative research. For the research five clients were chosen with problems in the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. Applying exercise procedures was to show a positive effect on the deep stabilizing system. Following investigative methods were used: anamnesis, examination of static orientation, trigonometric spine examination, assessment of posture, postural stability testing, palpation, flexion of the neck stereotype by Lewit and "S" reflex. Testing was performed twice, at intervals of 3-4 months. Results: The results showed significant improvement in four out of five clients. Pain, stiffness or paraesthesia cervical, thoracic or lumbar spine alleviated or even disappeared. Postural muscle activation possession and corset improved. Exercises also positively influenced the stereotype of breathing and it was confirmed that an active cooperation of clients is necessary for the most efficient effect of...
Strengthening in patients with nonspecific low back pain
Novák, Dalibor ; Tlapák, Petr (advisor) ; Čech, Zdeněk (referee)
In the present work we compare the effectiveness of therapy in patients with chronic non-specific low back pain (CNLBP) using classical analytical strengthening and strengthening program based on principles of physiotherapy techniques that focus on the stabilization of the spine and are used in the treatment CNLBP. The experiment included a total of 14 patients diagnosed with CNLBP who were divided into two groups (n = 7), each of who underwent a 12-week training either classical or physiotherapy conceived strengthening. As for the evaluated parameters, we chose the size and quality of pain (visual analogue scale and Short Form McGill Pain Questionnaire), restrictions in daily life in relation to LBP (Oswestry Disability Index); we tried to capture a change in the stabilizing muscle function by using a collection of tests according to Kolar (2006). The evaluation took place at the beginning and after the program and then at intervals of six months. The results showed that there was a statistically significant improvement in both groups in the monitored parameters. The difference in results in pain intensity and functional limitations in life when comparing the two groups showed statistically insignificant. Both the groups of patients improved their score in the evaluation of the stabilizing functions of...
The effect of physiotherapy on function of postural mobility in high-performance sportsmen (tennis players)
Šobáňová, Jindřiška ; Kolář, Pavel (advisor) ; Horáček, Ondřej (referee)
This thesis, entitled "The effect of physiotherapy on the function of postural motorics in competitive sportsmen (tennis players)", deals with how the activation of the deep stabilizing muscles affects postural functions in adolescent tennis players. A group of 13 competitive tennis players, aged between 10 and 17 years, were used as our probands. These subjects were examined with a bespoke set of tests of functions and then they were individually educated to train with a set of stabilization functions. After the therapy, they were re-examined with this set of tests again and the results of both sets of tests were compared and evaluated. In particular, we evaluated the changes in reactions of individual players, the changes in separate tests and in groups of tests, and the position of players in match rankings. Individual therapeutic physical training in children with defective (imperfect) posture (bearing) at the age of 6 years
Střídová, Zuzana ; Ocmanová, Renata (advisor) ; Zounková, Irena (referee)
This thesis is a summary of contemporary facts about poor and good posture. The objective was to correct the poor posture of the selected children, all six years of age. After analyzing the information from the initial research, corrective exercise was made. Four girls and five boys participated in a special exercise program for 7 ½ weeks. The exercises were focused on the most prevalent of the poor posture symptoms. The poor posture was not fully corrected, but there was an improvement of the primary dysbalanced functions. After a longer period of the training the author supposes complete correction. Number of preventative steps concerning future school attendance are mentioned. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

The objectification of therapeutical methods used for improvement of the deep stabilizng spinal system
Malátová, Renata ; Kolář, Pavel (advisor) ; Bunc, Václav (referee) ; Pavlů, Dagmar (referee) ; Marešová, Dana (referee)
5 Summary So far, no commercially used device, capable of evaluating the condition of the deep stabilizing spine system (DSSS), has appeared on the market. Therefore, a so called muscle dynamometer (SD01, SD02), has been constructed that enables to reveal a possible dysfunction of the DSSS. During a six-week-rehabilitation-course, aimed at correcting the body posture and strengthening the DSSS muscles, a statistically significant change (p<0.001) between the values of input and output measurements of the chosen group tested has been obtained. Correctness of the approach to objectify the initial state of the patient and his progress during the treatment was shown by the completed measurements. The effectiveness of therapeutical training was confirmed. Based on positive experience from SD01, a new version of muscle dynamometer, SD02, was constructed. Measurements by SD02 were to establish the condition of DSSS (frontal spine stabilization) by a lay-sit test repeatedly from the test battery UNIFITTEST 6-60 and by the diaphragm test. Measurements were conducted on 45 samples. Basic somatic measurements were performed and then measurements with the SD02 were conducted during the diaphragm test and UNIFITTEST. For comparison of the values the pairing t-test was used (normal data distribution was verified by the...
Influence of Deep Stabilization System of the Spine for snoring and sleep apnea syndrome
KOKOŠKOVÁ, Lucie
The Bachelor's thesis questions matter of possibility to decrease apnoic pause or reduce snoring exposures via activation of Deep Stabilization System of the Spine. Findings about sleep, it's particular periods and processes in it, are written in theoretical section. The next topics outlined are snoring issues and sleep apnoe syndrome including available medical options and diagnostical methods. Deep stabilization system, his important structures and ways how to influence it are furthermore described in the text. Three subjects affected by different level of the problem were chosen and resesearched through qualitative method for practical purpose of the thask. Each subject underwent anamneses determination and kinesiology analysis. The procedure was made with usage of polysomnographical apparatus borrowed from Budweis Laboratory of Sleep. To compare results, objects were measured before and after therapy. The final evaluation is inscribed in the practical part of the Bachelor's thesis. Despite performed therapy and Deep Stabilization System of the Spine activation, there were no improvements with the snoring and sleep apnoe syndrome, therefore the thesis has no use in further studying or treatment options. Examined problem has more deeper and complex bases than muscle neck unbalance.
Effect of African dance on deep stabilization system (pelvic floor) from the perspective of physiotherapy
PŮŽOVÁ, Tereza
This thesis deals with the topic of possible influence of African dance to the deep stabilization spinal system, mainly one of its parts, the pelvic floor. The lifestyle of today´s population is characterized by sedentary lifestyle which often alternates with evenings spent in fitness centers. These two extremes certainly negatively influence human´s health. That is why we can come to a conclusion that the activity of deep stabilization muscles is in imbalance or is considerably weakened, that the external muscles overtake the function of deep stabilization muscles and they try to substitute them which is unfortunately not ideal. The deep stabilization spinal system (DSSS) consists of muscle groups which serve to the postural stability and reactibility of the body (Kolář, 2009). The pelvic floor has an important role in the process. It not only holds the inner organs from the bottom but also takes a significant part on the stabilization of the center of the body. If the pelvic floor is not active enough or has another dysfunction, it can lead to a problem called coccyx and pelvic floor syndrome. Incorrect activity of the pelvic floor also suggests the incorrect activity of the DSSS (Marek et al., 2005). A possible way how to prevent or moderate these problems could be the African dance. African dance is not only an aesthetic form of entertainment, and artistic self-realization, but also a form of physical activity which brings development of all components of human´s personality and health. In its holistic concept it influences both the body and psyche of a person. It not only works with the so-called center (DSSS) and improves posture but it also brings a benefit of emotional experience and joy from the movement itself. A possible pathology of the pelvic floor can be successfully handled with African dance because a link to psychosomatics can be very frequent. The intention of the theoretical part was to make a summary of the previous findings about DSSS. I highlighted the dysfunction of the coccyx and pelvic floor syndrome. Also a summary of the information about the African dance style was introduced. As there is a very limited range of bibliographical and other sources to find To reach the set objectives and to answer the research questions, the method of qualitative research was used. Three probands, who regularly took part at the lessons of African dance, were researched. All of them were diagnosed with the coccyx and pelvic floor syndrome and insufficiency of DSSS at the beginning of the research. About two months later, medical examination showed that DSSS and pelvic floor was effected positively. The muscles of DSSS became more active and the pathological condition of the pelvic floor returned largely to "normality". This research and its results also contributed to answering the research questions and meeting the research objectives, which is that African dance is able to positively influence DSSS and coccyx and pelvic floor syndrome at these probands. This thesis was not primarily trying to reveal the cause of the coccyx and pelvic floor syndrome but it researched whether it is possible to therapeutically influence DSSS with the African dance, whether the coccyx and pelvic floor syndrome is there and whether it is possible to influence it with the dance. This thesis can be used as a basis for clinical practice of physiotherapists who are interested in the link between musculoskeletal system and dance. It can also serve as an educational material for instructors of the African dance who are interested in therapeutic and regenerative effect of the dance activity in more depth. Eventually this thesis can become an impulse for more research of this issue.
Activation the deep stabilization of the spine in women after gynecologic operations
JIRÁNKOVÁ, Tereza
The theme of this bachelor work is the deep stabilizing spinal system activation of women after undergone gynecological operations. The deep stabilizing spinal system is the system which involves muscles participating in spinal stabilization in all daily life movements. The participation of these muscles is automatical, unconscious.Right coactivation is responsible for high quality setting and optimal pressure in particular spinal joints. Deep stabilizing system dysfunction is one of possible causes of vertebraegenic problems or wrong posture. We speak about pelvis bottom muscles, diaphragm, nucha deep ones,m.mulitifidii and m.transversus abdomonis. In spite of the fact that gynecological operations are carried out very carefully (abdominal way), they leave some changes on musculoskeletal system. I have chosen two most carried gynecological operations for my bachelor work/abdominal hysterectomy and Caesarean section. I have divided my work into two parts. The theoretical one is aimed at mapping available information about deep stabilizing system and gynecological operations. The research one is the core of the work. It is about practical research of deep stabilizing spinal system activation of women after gynecological operations and their profound analysis. The aim of the theoretical part of my bachelor work was mapping of available information about mentioned matter and the description of deep stabilizing spinal system. You can find there the description of particular parts of deep stabilizing system from the point of view anatomy and their function. Then there are described the possibilities of its examination and the last but least the methods used in activation. After the explanation what the deep stabilizing system is the theoretical part follows which is aimed at gynecological operations. I have tried to describe their indications, course and their possible complications. One part is about female sexual organs anatomy. The main aim of the bachelor work research part was brief description of the musculoskeletal system changes during therapy. I have applied the qualitative research method. Two women of different age and diagnosis have been chosen for my research. Therapy was carried out at their home environment in the period of 5 and 8 weeks. The research results were worked out in the casuistry forms which contain input and output kinesiological analysis, therapy course, short-term and long-term rehabilitation plan. The therapy was carried out once a week under the therapist supervision. Then the patients were instructed and trained in the right exercise set and they were given exercise plan for every day. After gynecological operations there were some changes in musculoskeletal system particularly in abdomen area exactly in the location of the cut. This area was not active entirely. There was not abdominal breathing. Activity of abdominal muscles was taken over by musculus rectus abdominis. Lateral groups of abdominal muscles (musculus obliquus internus abdominis, musculus obliquus externus abdominis and musculus transversus abdominis) were not activated entirely. Both patients learnt the right breathing sterotype and their deep stabilizing system was activated. Realizing their own body and how to operate with it was the result of the therapy. The therapy was finished with the form of output kinesiological analysis containing appropriate examination. The research proved the efficiency of activating deep stabilizing spinal system after gynecological operations not only from the point of view physiology, but from the point of view psychic too.
