Bioethic in the public discourse
ŠIMKOVÁ, Petra
From time to time there comes to a stirring up of a society-wide discussion on bioethical issues ? abortion, prenatal diagnosis, assisted reproduction and euthanasia in the Czech Republic. This social discussion is largely influenced by media which present to us interesting news or a story, but it is necessary to realize that these topics have a much broader scope and potential impacts than it is served up to us by media. A wide range of debaters as well as professional and lay public regularly express to bioethical issues relating to the beginning and the end of life. For a fruitful discussion it is necessary to clearly define and specify concepts, because often there is a misguided discussion without any expected results. In the past there was no need to deal with such issues very much, because the order was in hands of Nature. Not completely healthy individuals failed to conceive a child, an unwanted foetus was carried to term and its sex was a surprise for parents and finally, people died naturally according to their age or after a lost match with a disease. For many people Nature, for others some Higher Order. Of course, an incredible scientific development enabled such miracles of which we would have not dreamt hundred years ago yet. We have gained many rights, freedom and democracy as well as a wide-ranging choice. Today we can decide whether to become pregnant and in the same way we can decide that we get rid of the full womb from different reasons. Using diagnostic methods we can determine what a child we carry bellow the heart, but with the help of the same technique it can become uncomfortable for us. We can be treated and live even a century and in many places we can lawfully decide that our life has no meaning and we can finish it. The aim of the diploma thesis is to map readers´ awareness of bioethical issues using a secondary analysis of printed documents from three chosen Czech dailies in 2000 ? 2010 years. To track what triggered a debate among the readers, who discussed and what stance adopted the readers on the issue. The secondary objective was also the mapping of all proponents´ and opponents´ arguments of selected topics and comparing the results with the professional literature. The research shows that the public debate was always sparked by an event presented by the media, to which subsequently responded readers from all areas. According to the research results the public awareness of bioethical issues has been formed mostly by experts directly involved in bioethical dilemmas or carrying out such a profession, in which bioethics greatly interferes. Readers of diverse composition participated in the discussion and the most represented group was a group of experts and a group of lay debaters.

FRÖSTLOVÁ, Gabriela
This diploma thesis deals with an electronic communication with Civil Service and local government authorities in the Czech Republic. The introductory part defines the Civil Service and local government, in the other parts the thesis deals with the electronic communication itself. Further the thesis focuses on a communication through data boxes. Data boxes were put into practice in 2009 year. They are mandatory especially for institutions of Civil Service and local government authorities and business entities. An individual can also set up the data box voluntarily. Using the data box with an electronic signature, the individual can communicate with authorities electronically. The aim of the thesis was to map a state of the electronic communication in the Civil Service and local government authorities in the Czech Republic, South Bohemian region. This goal was carried out by means a questionnaire survey that took place in February 2012. Employees of the Regional Authority in České Budějovice were addressed, as well as employees of municipalities and job centres in chosen cities. The questionnaire survey showed that respondents evaluate the project of the data boxes mostly positively. Most respondents use the data boxes at their work as well as the electronic signature. Corporate Social Responsibility of Trading Companies
JEŽKOVÁ, Zdeňka
The aim of my thesis was to describe current approaches and measures of business enterprises in the realm of corporate social responsibility and to conduct a survey of the impact which these measures have on shopping behavior. The theoretical part is focused on the definition of social responsibility and its integration into a company. The fact, that social responsibility is important for a company, is underlined by benefits, which I mention in the theoretical part as well. I also present examples of actions and activities that a company should create in the environmental, social or economic sphere. I tried to incorporate this theoretical knowledge into a questionnaire, which was included in the practical part of my thesis. I determined questions for respondents in order to learn, whether they have any notion of social responsibility at all, what they imagine under the term and whether they think that companies should behave according to it. Among other things, respondents had the opportunity to describe in their own words the actions (activities), which they think a company should do in order to behave socially responsibly. Then they were supposed to write an example of a company that deals with this concept. After collecting data using questionnaires I analyzed each question separately first and then described the individual results arising from them. In the next part I defined dependencies of some questions and described the relations between them. For the assessment of individual dependencies I used contingency tables and a compliance test, or Pearson´s chi-square test, in two cases, which I investigated the significance of statistical dependence with. In conclusion, I proposed measures that could contribute to explain the concept of social responsibility to the public.

Workplace violence - mobbing and bossing
Pocová, Vanda ; Beneš, Milan (referee) ; Tureckiová, Michaela (advisor)
Originating from an individual or a group of individuals and targeted against another individual, mobbing and bossing are two forms of workplace violence which can include persistent and constant attacks, rather psychological by their nature. Any employee can be the mobber, whereas the bosser is always the superior of the subject of bossing. The abuser aims to humiliate and subjugate the victim's personality, as a result of which the victim leaves the workplace - either voluntarily or by means of dismissal. The situation involves not only the abuser and the abused but also co-workers, superior and/or personnel managers. This bachelor thesis provides an insight to the origin and use of the terms Mobbing and Bossing. I have described individual phases of conflict development, behaviour of individual parties involved and impacts on victim's health. The final part looks at the existing European and Czech studies on this topic and the workplace violence prevention.

Formánek, Jan ; Zeman, Karel (advisor) ; Krebs, Vojtěch (referee)
The bachelor thesis will be aimed to analyze the tax systems in the Czech Republic and Slovakia before tax reforms as well as after them. I chose this topic because of its recency and personal interest. First, theoretical part of the thesis will be a general outline of tax problems, will define taxes in historical and contemporary view and also overview of legislative background of tax systems. After that I'm going to focus on tax systems which were functional in both countries mentioned above including their mutual comparison. In the analytical part I will focus on reforms themselves, their results in legislative plane. That will be followed by numeric comparison aimed on revenues and expenditures of the state and impacts against tax-payers -- individuals. Not only financial but review non-financial impacts like simplification of the system. In the last part I'm going to figure out hypotetical analysis of impacts of the "Modrá šance", if it was accepted in original proposal. The objective of the thesis is to impartially compare positive and negative effects of tax reforms, which were realized in countries stated above.

Dobešová, Petra ; Balon, Jan (advisor) ; Kotík, Michal (referee)
Bachelor thesis "Free Hugs - A sociological interpretation" gives an interpretation of the phenomenon called Free Hugs - offering hugs to strangers on the street. The basic question behind the early work was the following problem: What happens in a society, where people are willing to offer hugs to strangers in the street? What kind of pressure operates on people? What is causing this pressure? The goal of the work is to interpret the characteristics of modern society, which most importantly affect the atmosphere that makes ordinary people create their sign saying "Free Hugs" and go into the streets. The text is divided into three chapters. The first provides the first insight into the topic and a brief excursion into the short history of the phenomenon.
