A sample application in the final part provides the reader with better understanding of different ETL approaches, which are analyzed into detail and evaluated. There is the comparison of OLAP technologies in the end and the comparison of basic reporting tools, as well.

Utilizing RELAX NG Schemas in XML Editors
Schmied, Martin ; Kosek, Jiří (advisor) ; Nič, Miloslav (referee)
This thesis explores the possibilities of utilizing RELAX NG schemata in the process of editing XML documents. The ultimate goal of this thesis is to prototype a system supporting user while editing XML document with bound RELAX NG schema inside the Eclipse IDE. Such a system comprises two major components -- an integration of RELAX NG validator and an autocompletion engine. Design of the autocompletion engine represents the main contribution of this thesis, because similar systems are almost exclusively implemented in closed-source commercial editors as of 2009. The first chapter is a brief introduction into XML while emphasizing XML schema languages. A comparison is of three major schema languages -- DTD, W3C XML Schema and RELAX NG. Furthermore, options of exploiting information from schema by the XML editor are discussed. In the end of the chapter an overview of basic RELAX NG patterns used throughout this thesis is given. The second chapter describes implementation of the autocompletion engine. It reasons about appropriate in-memory representation of the XML documents and RELAX NG schemas and presents basic principles of pattern-inference for individual elements. The main output of the chapter is an algorithm proposal for generating possible completions based on given XML document nodes and RELAX NG schema of the document. The goal of the final third chapter is integrating RELAX NG validator and the autocompletion engine inside the Eclipse IDE. It starts by describing two basic aspects of Eclipse Platform -- the OSGi Service Platform dynamic module system and the extension point mechanism. Then the implementation of individual plug-ins and their integration with existing XML editing infrastructure is described.

C++ Object Persistency Using Object/Relational Databases
Čermák, Petr ; Skopal, Tomáš (referee) ; Kopecký, Michal (advisor)
This thesis deals with design and implementation of a library providing object-relational mapping services for programs written in C++. Emphasis is put on its transparency and ease of its use. To achieve these goals the library uses GCCXML, a XML output extension to GCC. GCCXML helps the library to get description of the class model used in the user application and to simulate the reflection. For the mapping purposes, new object-relational database features are discussed and a new mapping type is proposed. Implementation of the library is based on three related projects - the POLiTe, POLiTe 2 and IOPC libraries. The proposed and implemented library unifies them into one solid, flexible and extensible platform. Thanks to its modular architecture, the resulting library can be used in several configurations providing subsets of implemented services - database access, reflection and object-relational mapping.

Hejtmánková, Kateřina ; Palovská, Helena (advisor) ; Mittner, Jan (referee)
The aim of my thesis is to provide a collection of examples about document oriented MongoDB database using Node.js platform, specifically using the Mongoose program, for object-document mapping (ODM). The aim is met by analysis of Mongoose and Async module, which provides functions for more comprehensive asynchronous querying, needed for working with input/output to the MongoDB database in Node.js. The main merit of this thesis is (in the general sense) a demonstration of how to create a administration part of web application (backend) in Node.js, applying document oriented MongoDB database. The thesis discusses, in the theoretical part, about characteristics and significance of document oriented MongoDB database, about characteristics and architecture of Node.js platform employing untyped and multiplatform JavaScript language and about object document mapping (ODM) programs for Node.js on MongoDB. The practical part contains a collection of examples, where in the first chapter introduces an instalation and execution manual of necessary programs. The next chapter is dedicated to simple examples of Mongoose module and in the last chapter there are stated the complex examples of Mongoose and Async modules, which are the main merits of this thesis.
