This dissertation thesis deals with the topic of Business Intelligence and Balanced Scorecard and its use in České odborné nakladatelství, s.r.o., a relatively small company of 29 employees, which publishes magazines about business, gastronomy, textile, foods, hotels etc. The first part of my thesis describes the BI and BSC theoretically and offers a methodical basis for the following chapters. It gives the reader a definition and structure of BI, with access to a Data Warehouse including the fundamentals of building an OLAP database. It furthermore explains what BSC is, which perspectives use and what a strategic map is. The theoretical chapters of my paper will draw conclusions about the use of BI and BSC and the links between them. The practical, hands-on, chapters continue with the actual application of BI and BSC in the afore-mentioned ČON, s.r.o. It describes the goals and ambitions of the company, which are further on divided into individual strategic goals and metrics, fragmented into perspectives of the BSC and portrayed in a strategic map. Upon analyzing the demands of the company a BI framework is created, data sources are identified, Data Warehouse are designed and brought into effect. In the end a multidimensional OLAP cube is created with MS SQL Server 2008. Finally, there is a MS Excel 2007 explanation and interpretation of the measured values (reporting), which is taken from the available sources of ČON, s.r.o. and is compared against the set strategic goals and metrics of the company. The results of this thesis are based on actual demands of the company and are ready to be implemented and used in real-life.

An assessment of nurses as part of their further education and development

This master's degree thesis focuses on the evaluation of employee performance and its influence on further education and professional development. The work provides a general view on performance evaluation while drawing attention to specifics in health services. Further education and work performance are closely related. To provide for the safe competent care of patients, nurses must continue to both accumulate knowledge and deepen their existing knowledge. In today's rapidly changing conditions in providing care, health service organizations are called upon to provide an environment that supports professional growth. The research part of this thesis answers this call to assess the effectiveness of the employee evaluation system of nurses at the General Faculty Hospital in Prague. The research's objective was to analyse how the system works, as well as the how the evaluation results are used for planning education and development activities for the individual nurses. The methodological basis was the quantitative technique of amassing data conducted via an analysis of documents and questionnaires. Based on the findings, the research clearly showed a need to adapt the existing system of employee evaluation. In concrete terms to modify the evaluation form to make the work criteria and conduct criteria more...

Design and creation of BI systems documentation
Andrle, Ondřej ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Zajíc, Ján (referee)
This work deals with the different kinds of documents and documentations accompanying an implementation of Business Intelligence Systems. The character and structure of this work is influenced by cooperation with the Cleverdecision company. This company has enabled analytic work with data from medical registers by implementing the BI solution into the medical sphere. The implemented BI solution is in this work documented in two directions. First documentation is certain specification of the BI solution including architecture, descriptions of single components and applied hardware and software. This documentation is mainly a demonstration of the description of possibilities of the BI system and it is put after the theoretical part. The Theoretical part is about document types, which originates at the projecting of BI systems. The second documentation is intended for end users of the systems and it is put in the enclosure. It explains the possibilities of work with pivot tables in Microsoft Excel backgrounds that are used for analytic work with data. By the help of this documentation the user will be able to connect to multidimensional cube and draw up quality and predicative outputs. These two documentations are the main aims of the work. This work also mentions different end users groups and their abilities to work with the reports. In the end of the work there is an analysis of the single periods and principles of formulation of the user documentation.

Design and production of a plastic komponent
ČÍŽEK, Václav
The theoretical part is focused on evaluation of chosen ?essential? plastics used in the car industry. The principles of construction and proportioning of plastic components, basic conception of injection moulding and measuration follow. Another section of the theoretical part presents a summary of possible CAD systems, which are used. The practical part is focused on a particular plastic moulding. It includes the main description of a component with its material choice in dependence on the component function. Another section contains evaluation of the component complexity from the viewpoint of moulding, and a possible substitution of constructions, which could be productively simpler, is shown. The whole thesis is completed for better lucidity by pictures, drawings, and mechanical drawings.

The starting point of this thesis is the question of possibilities^that are available for pedagogues dealing with environmental education in children's leisure time in big cities. The thesis draws on three different branches: pedagogy of leisure time, environmental education, system of work with children. Each branch gives important foundation for organizing a leisure club dedicated on environmental education. Another section of the thesis represents implementing a leisure club (called ,,ecoclub") that was realized in the framework of a civil association Občanská inspirace working in prague housing estate černý Most. The association has a great significance for implementation of envirinmental education in this part of the city therefore one section of the thesis is dedicated on...

Spectral Rendering
Novotný, Jiří ; Pelikán, Josef (advisor) ; Pavlík, Ivo (referee)
The object of this thesis is to design and implement imaging system suitable for drawing transparent materials - especially gemstones. Emphasis is placed on the spectral properties of light, dispersion and refractive caustics. The input is an XML file describing the rendering scene - display configuration parameters, light sources and objects (their geometry and material properties). The application allows the use of both laboratory-measured spectroscopic data, as well as simplified models for experimental use. The output is a raster image depicting the scene. The whole calculation is based on a combination of two methods: ray tracing and photon mapping.

Photography as a creative tool for children in preschool education
TŮMOVÁ, Alena
The goal of this bachelor's thesis is the creation of a set of photographs and drawings which will be used by children as a methodological tool in their daily activities in the kindergarten. The solution of the tool is associated with prosaic texts from Vitezlav Nezval - Things for the children. The bachelor's thesis consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part describes motivational aspects related to the perception of artwork, aesthetic, illustration and photography. The actual implementation of the methodological tool precedes closer acquaintance with the literature proposition. The practical part is about the creation of methodological tool which will develop children's imagination, thinking and speech. Footbridge across the Labe
Krč, Rostislav ; Romportl, Tomáš (referee) ; Stráský, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis focuses on design of prestressed concrete footbridge which passes pedestrian and bicycle path over the Elbe river near city of Celakovice in the Czech Republic. Three different bridge options were analyzed and for further development a cable-stayed footbridge was chosen. Its bridge deck is formed of a box girder supported by cables in its vertical axis and all cable stays are anchored into two concrete A-shaped pylons. This structure was analyzed in SCIA Engineer and assessment of serviceability limit states and ultimate limit states according to recent European standards (Eurocodes) was made. Both the global structural behavior and the local structural integrity of box cross-section were assessed as well as construction stages and cross-sections of pylons and cable stays. Assessments were performed in IDEA StatiCa combined with hand calculations. Eventually a dynamic response of structure was analyzed. Natural modes and frequencies were found and forced oscillation response was evaluated. The thesis includes technical drawings, construction process and visualization.
