Paths of child - the reciter at primary school
Čurdová, Jana ; Marušák, Radek (advisor) ; Svobodová, Radmila (referee)
The theoretical part of the diploma is focused on the analysis of particular areas and concepts related to children's recitation regarding the first level of primary school. The first half of the practical part looks into primal motivation resulting into the decision to dedicate oneself to recitation, as well as the method of text selection by children and their reasons for preference of poetry to prose. The method of controlled interview was used for researching child reciters at the first level of primary school. The same method was applied to research methods of management, preparation and evaluation of children's reciter by adults who work with and assess the reciter. The second half of the practical part offers and describes examples of both group and individual approaches to a particular text.
The visual aspect of Dante Gabriel Rossetti's poetry
Fořtová, Linda ; Nováková, Soňa (advisor) ; Beran, Zdeněk (referee)
This MA thesis is concerned with the analysis of three poems by Dante Gabriel Rossetti. The theoretical basis of this work is the theory of "ut pictura poesis" which examines the relationship between poetry and fine arts. In the case of Rossetti, this theory can be easily applied since Rossetti was not only a poet but mainly a painter. "The Blessed Damozel" which is the first poem to be analyzed, exists as a painting as well as a musical composition by Claude Debussy. The second poem in this thesis is "The Card Dealer" which was inspired by an actual painting by Theodor Van Holst, a copy of which Rossetti himself owned, though the original visual image is considerably modified in the poem. The last poem is "My Sister's Sleep" whose dramatic elements of individual scenes are quite outstanding. Just like the two preceding poems, "My Sister's Sleep" uses "painterly techniques" as well (the spatial composition of figures on the scene, emphasis on details, "painting" the scene and atmosphere, characterization, gestures, colours, materials, slowed-down tempo, general stasis of depiction, elongation of the tense moment to which the entire poem aspires, symbolism, mysticism, etc), which in effect create an easily imaginable mental picture that can be compared to actual Pre-Raphaelite paintings. These (and...

Bartoňová, Barbora ; Holý, Jiří (advisor) ; Kovařík, Petr (referee)
This thesis deals with the poetic works of T.R.Field, particularly those which date from the period of his hospitalization in the Bohnice Mental Asylum in mid-1950's. It presents the poet's personality and aims to analyze his works from the perspective of literary theory with the main focus on mystifying the reader, humor, and literary stylization. It draws on Field's published texts and on his literary estates and other documents which are kept at the literary archives. Poems from this period are compared with Field's works from between the two world wars, in particular with the collections published under the names Kosoctverce na ohradach and Lomikel na dlasnech. The thesis concludes with an attempt to define the meaning of Field's poetic works.

TITLE: Topic childhood in the Marina Tsvetaeva's poetry in the period till the emigration AUTHOR: Jana Bruněva SUPERVISOR: PaedDr. Antonín Hlaváček ABSTRACT: My thesis aims at presentation of the form of childhood in the poetry by Marina Tsvetaeva, namely by means of her poems, that I have carefully read through. I have aimed primarily at the poetry from the period of the authoress' earliest creative years up to her emigration. This period of her literary activity was very fruitful and very varied as to its topics, form, vocabulary or metrics. I should like to find out by my investigation, how her own childhood influenced her creative activity and whether these motives are present in the whole creative period of here, I have chosen, or only in its particular part. Therefore I have examined also the special literature, which connects chronologically individual poems with realities of authoress' life. KEYWORDS: childhood, poetry, motive, Marina Tsvetaeva

Sámi poetry in Finland
Hořínová, Markéta ; Dlask, Jan (advisor) ; Kovář, Michal (referee)
This master's thesis deals with the topic of Sámi poetry. The main aim of this work was to examine the history and development of lyric poetry written in North Sámi in Finland. Apart from that I also tried to find certain attributes or trends common in Sámi poetry. In this thesis I used the encyclopedic method. In the first part of the thesis I examine the North Sámi yoik from a literary perspective. Yoik is often considered to be the foundation of Sámi literature and also in this work it has turned out to be very important for Sámi literary development. The influence of the yoik can be seen through the whole history of Sámi poetry. In the next chapters I introduce important poets and their work from the end of the 19th century to present. I focus mainly on authors originating from the Finnish side of Sámiland. In addition to that I present some important historical and social events that had an impact on literature. In the final chapter, I briefly deal with the situation in publishing and translating Sámi poetry. Because my knowledge of North Sámi is very limited, I analyzed all the literary works presented in this thesis with the help of Finnish or English translations. In spite of that I managed to find some common trends in Sámi poetry. Keywords: Finland, Sámi literature, poetry, yoik, Northern...
