Aggression in children and youth
FICALOVÁ, Barbora
The topic of my thesis {\clqq}Aggression in children and youth`` has become a heavily discussed issue recently. One of the reasons for this fact is the increasing concern of media about the problems. Cases of children aggression are often presented in the television news, posted on the Internet or discussed in newspapers. The most alarming fact is the decreasing age of young aggressors. The theoretical section of my thesis is focused on the phenomenon of pathological aggression, its classification, forms, the theory of aggression and reasons for its origination. Bullying (peer abuse) is one of the most common forms of children and youth aggression and therefore I cover the issue in one entire chapter. Together with new technologies bullying is transformed into new forms such as cyberbullying which is also briefly mentioned in the thesis. The objectives of my thesis are to learn the causes of children and youth aggression, the influence of aggression on the social adaptation of an individual, problems and consequences of the aggressive behaviour. The research was conducted in an educational facility for young aggressors where teenage girls aged 15 {--} 18 years with serious behaviour disorders and educational problems are placed. The typical behavioural problem in these teenage girls is aggression. So I did not conduct the research in the prevailing population. To keep anonymity, instead of the interview method the questionnaire method and the obtained data analysis were used. Owing to the small number of teenage girls willing or able to fill in the questionnaires, 10 questionnaires were filled in correctly and completely. The most important finding of the research was the fact that all the teenage girls questioned, who show an aggressive behaviour, were themselves exposed to aggression in childhood, most often in the form of home violence in the primary family, but also in an educational facility or at school in the form of peer abuse. This early experience influences the later used behavioural formulas and recognized values. It is possible to say that the fundamental prerequisite for the harmonious development of a child is a good education with an absence both of excessive punishment and pathology in the family.

TV lifestyle magazines : the phenomen of masculinity, makeover and success
Horáčková, Lucie ; Reifová, Irena (advisor) ; Wolák, Radim (referee)
Diploma thesis "TV Lifestyle Magazines : Phenomenon of Masculinity, Makeover and Success" mostly deals with the concepts of life-style, taste, makeover a masculinity and their factual manifestation in particular television shows. In its theoretical part the thesis defines fundamental themes and concepts based on literature, especially according to Pierre Bourdieu, Dick Hebdige and Michel Foucault. The concept of life-style has gained much importance in contemporary society, because it's actually the style of life which has become the most important principle of social clustering. One of the first sociologists to reflect on the concept of life-style was Pierre Bourdieu. His conception of life-style is based on stratification and social inequalities. These inequalities are - according to Bourdieu - the product of deep structural inequalities underlying the society as a whole. The thesis also concerns with style as intentional communication, hegemony and resistence as perceived by Dick Hebdige. The body and the process of moulding it into the shape of disciplined bodies is the subject of another part of the thesis. Further on the thesis deals with the problem of body and masculinity, and above all with the process of building its image in the media. Two types of masculinity are defined; first hegemonic...

Hlaváčková, Ivana ; Ševčík, Miroslav (advisor) ; Arltová, Markéta (referee)
A traditional printed newspaper is being replaced by an online one. This is one of the reasons why I in this thesis focus just on internet journalism. The online journalism servers I present in a relation to other periodicals -- newspapers, broadcast and television. The thesis describes and analyses main development trends in the Czech media market. It puts an emphasis on economic sections of general news and it also compares these sections with specialized economic servers. An important part of the thesis is focused on an analysis of reader's attendance which results in a rank of the most popular news servers. The model of the time series analysis is set up for two websites and it predicts future development trend in the number of real users of online news. The aim of this thesis is to provide a general view on the contemporary situation and also to describe the developmental tendency of online reporting. The result of the dissertation is the prediction of future development trend of online reporting servers.

The usage of participles and transgressives of the verbs "buti" (to be), "sakyti (to say) in contemporary texts. Their equivalents in Czech and Latvian languages
Durmanová, Lucie ; Lemeškin, Ilja (advisor) ; Marvan, Jiří (referee)
In my thesis "The usage of participles and transgressives of the verbs "bti" (to be), "sakyti" (to say) in contemporary texts. Their equivalents in Czech and Latvian languages" the object of my research is a grammatical phenomenon of indefinite verb forms in the narrow sense of the Lithuanian, Czech and Latvian languages. The subject matter is a treatise of various forms of participles and transgressives (we are not specifically concerned with infinitive in this thesis), chiefly in the Lithuanian language, but in relation to the Czech and Latvian language. Participles and transgressives are regarded as grammatical units, which are an integral part of a modern-day language; however the currency of their usage, in contrast to the past, is fading. We have focused on a summary of existing knowledge of participles and transgressives in the Lithuanian, Latvian and Czech language, pointing out the similarities and differences among them; on collection of actual language materials and the analysis of the usage in the Bibliographic database of Lithuanian newspaper articles (Lith. Bibliografin Lietuvos periodins spaudos straipsni baz; a collection of articles, published in Lithuanian printed media from 1994 to 2002). One of the objectives of my thesis was to compare equivalents of Lithuanian, Latvian and Czech forms,...

The Concept of Transnational Migration and Its Manifestations as Shown on the Example of the Ukrainian and Vietnamese Communities in the Czech Republic
Pospíšilová, Radka ; Marešová, Jarmila (referee) ; Drbohlav, Dušan (advisor)
7 ABSTRACT In the early 1990s first debates about transnational migration occurred. Some experts on migration started to point out that international migration had changed and it could no longer be perceived as a permanent movement from sending to receiving countries. Dense and continuous transborder linkages between migrants and their origin countries had been noted. The pioneers of the transnational migration perspective tried to establish transnational migration as a new phenomenon. However, more and more migration researchers draw attention to the fact that there is nothing new about ties between immigration and emigration countries. Due to the complexity and unclear boundaries of the whole transnational perspective, not a single transnational migration theory has been formulated yet. First of all, the thesis describes the development of the transnational perspective and presents various points of view, including the geographical one. Apart from that, the most important characteristics such as sending remittances, holding two passports or the role of transnational media are introduced. Secondly, following the theoretical knowledge of the transnational migration perspective, the thesis tries to discover whether there are any signs of transnational practices among the Ukrainian and Vietnamese communities...
