Traditions and religious holidays in relation to tourism (focused on Spain)

This bachelor thesis is focused on how traditions and religious holidays influence tourism in some regions. It defines tourism in general, while additionally focusing on Spain specifically. The thesis also analyses the development of incoming and domestic tourism in the region so far. It also analyzes the number of visits to some given cities during these festivals (both traditional and religious) and examines if there is any potential relationship between them. Lastly, it evaluates the importance, attractiveness, and potential of these celebrations and ceremonies for tourism.

Implementation and Absorption Capacity of EU funds in Tourism

The thesis aims to analyze European funds promoting tourism in the Czech Republic, and to assess the extent to which the Czech Republic was able to take advantage of this support. The intention is to introduce current possibilities of using EU funds and analyze how effective implementation was. The work is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is devoted to regional policy and the instruments through which it is implemented. The second chapter deals with the Implementation process of EU funds at European and national level. The last chapter analyzes data focused on financial support to the tourism development in the period of 2007-2013, and 2014-2020.

Cyber security from the perspective of business entities

This thesis deals with the issue of cyber security in enterprises. The main objective of this thesis is to compile a comprehensive overview of the issue of cyber security related to the Czech business entities. It is written in the context in Czech language and in less technical form. This thesis first identifies the current cyber threats, supported by examples of actual incidents. On the basis of the threats thesis defines the categories of business entities that are vulnerable to the threats, and with regard to the Czech legal system analyzes cybersecurity responsibilities. Above the legal obligations there are recommended measures and types of security tests that can check the level of cybersecurity. The output is also a methodological tool for better understanding of cyber security in companies which summarize acquired information and context in comprehensive tables. The expected contribution of this thesis is that summarized findings will serve to increase the level of IT security for Czech businesses.

Analysis of the Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovations in the years 2007 - 2013 under the Development program of mini breweries in Czech Republic

The aim of the study is to determine whether the Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovation take place in the years 2007 - 2013 in the Czech Republic with the exception of Prague and has a positive impact on the increasing number of mini breweries in the Czech Republic. Analysis the Development programe which subsidy in technology help to incease the competitivenes of Small and Medium Enterprises, showing its progress and possible advantages or disadvantages. Using the questionnaire is then examines the suitability of the program in mini breweries. The testing of hypotheses, namely that the Development program has a positive impact on the expansion of mini breweries, can be universally confirm. This work also shows that more mini breweries using this program to start its work but that probably does not diminish the purpose of the program.

Accounting and Tax Frauds from Comparative Perspective of Czech and American Law and Practice

This diploma thesis entitled Accounting and Tax Frauds from Comparative Perspective of Czech and American Law and Practice analyses accounting frauds and tax frauds in the Czech Republic with added comparative aspects from the US. The purpose of the thesis divided to 6 chapters is to provide a complex and comprehensive analysis from the perspective of accounting, legal and justice system and police investigation and to propose original policy solutions how to improve combating this sophisticated economic criminal activities. This thesis is grounded in an interdisciplinary context and applies economics, taxes, accounting, law, criminology and forensic science. It also combines theoretical background with practical case study analysis. Stemming from the case study analysis and the comparative perspectives from the US, this thesis proposes practical solutions proposals for the police work. One of the common features of both Czech and the US system is the essential role of experts. The added value of this thesis includes 10 different proposals in the legislative, institutional, informational and practical police area, such as establishing special police unit tasked with accounting and audit frauds, protection of whistleblowers, more severe punishments, uniform tax software and electronic evidence, better coordination between police and the tax authorities, improving the education of policemen in the economic, tax and accounting area, cooperation with academia and police internships of economics students and also enhanced international cooperation. One cross-cutting finding is the absolute necessity of close and long-term cooperation and coordination between police, judiciary, tax authorities and academia, sharing knowledge, information and know-how and critically analysing recent trends and practical issues. That is the only way how to effectively improve the fight against this complex white-collar crime.

Insurance of tour operators

This bachelor thesis deals with insurance of tour operators. At the beginning are characterized differences between tour operators and travel agents that have to be distinguished for this insurance product. The second chapter focuses on development of tour operators insurance in the Czech Republic. There is described the legislative process of the law 159/1999 Sb and its amendment about some conditions of entrepreneurship in the field of tourism. There are also specified conditions for gaining and sustaining guarantee insurance in case of tour operator bankruptcy. A part of the chapter is devoted to the bank guarantee and the state supervision. The next chapter provides an overview of insurance companies that offer this type of insurance. Last two chapters are more practical. One of them analyses the amendment of the law 159/1999 Sb. issued on 1 January 2016. There are summarized reasons of this amendment and comparison of the law before and after the amendment. The other practical chapter describes the reasons of bankruptcy of tour operator called Marine Tour and the procedure in case of tour operator bankruptcy. The conclusion summarizes recommendations for a selection of a suitable tour operator.

The influence of Asian culture on business- case study of Chinese culture

Topic of the thesis is to explain the influence of Asia culture on doing business, specifically focused on Chinese market. It analyses cultural differences and points out the importance of culture in business. In the theoretical part, the most important factors as well as all cultural influential factors are mentioned. Definition of culture itself is presented together with basic cultural elements and differeces among cultures. Further on, cultural dimensions of Geert Hofstede, one of the eminent world culture-scientist, are described, specifically focused on interaction among different cultures and organisational cultures. Practical part then puts more emphasis on the Chinese business culture itself. Topics such as business negotiation differences are starting the practical part, followed by behaviour patterns after coming to China and meeting future business partners with Chinese roots. After explanation of all the basic differences " on the first sight", author goes more into details and explains detailed differences connected with traditions, rules and all other necessary information about how to behave in the Chinese business enviroment. Thesiś focuses on all formal collective behaviour concepts, which are very important in the Chinese culture as well as its history and philosophy, which influences both their personal and professional life every day.

PhDr. Martina Šmejkalová, Ph. D. ABSTRACT: The thesis deals with teaching of syntax in language education at lower secondary schools between the years 1918−1939. It verifies to what extent the education was affected by social, pedagogical, didactic and linguistic factors. It analyzes the presentation of syntax in contemporary prescriptive grammar books, monitors how much syntax was implemented in the contemporary curriculum for lower secondary schools and it also focuses on the syntactic topics presented by methodological manuals for students of teaching and teachers. In particular, this thesis examines how the authors of the Czech Language textbooks, for lower secondary school pupils, presented the syntactic topics. The surveys have shown that syntax was, in this period, the focus of attention of: linguists, educationalists and methodists. Syntax was an integral part of language teaching and was properly presented in their textbooks. The surveys have shown that we can use many parts of these textbooks as high-quality sources of inspiration. The Economic Crisis in Specific EU Countries: Spain and Ireland

The thesis analyses and compares the economies of Spain and Ireland in the run up to and during the current economic and financial crisis. Firstly, the focus is on the pre-crisis period since the mid 90's, the causes and extent of the price bubble on the property markets, the caracter of lending boom and the indebtedness of the private sector. The end of the lending boom and conjuncture on the real estate markets in 2006-2007 had strong impact on real economy and the financial sector. Both countries currently pass through a three-level crisis: economic, banking and debt crisis. The aim of the thesis is to examine their causes, evolution and causal links. The paper also illustrates future perspectives of both countries in context of the membership in EMU and possible solutions to their current situation.

Analysis of the legal aspects of doing business in the Czech Republic and Germany

The thesis analyzes competitiveness and related business environment in the Czech Republic and Germany, also examines the legislative environment prevailing in both countries. The work is divided into three chapters. The first chapter determines the position of the two states in international competitiveness rankings. In the second chapter selected areas of the business environment are described, evaluated and compared. The final chapter is about starting a business in the Czech Republic, Germany. The thesis analyzes problems of cross-border activities of employees. Common features of both states and their differences are compared in order to be the inspiration for legal changes.
