A comparison of the carbon footprint of food consumption of households in the EU regions
PEŠEK, Roman
The thesis compares the carbon footprints generated by household food consumption in urban and rural areas of selected regions within the European Union, and deepens the knowledge of the impact contemporary society has on global climate change. Selected regions come from the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary and the Netherlands. The first part summarises the findings of climate change and its impact on the environment, the concept of sustainable development, and the consumer behaviour of the Czech population in the food sector, with a focus on the possibility to influence carbon footprint production. The second part addresses the particular comparison of carbon footprints generated by household food consumption and evaluates the results. The conclusion from this part of the dissertation can be used as a guide to help reduce carbon footprints through food consumption.
The Development of Household Consumption in the Czech Republic in the Period 2002 - 2011
Rott, Michal ; Vostrovská, Zdenka (advisor) ; Vebrová, Ludmila (referee)
The thesis is focused on evaluation of the household consumption development in the Czech Republic in the period 2002 -- 2011. The objective of this work is to delineate main factors of decision-making of households on savings and on consumption in the period of economic boom and in the period of economic crisis. It is pointed out that the key determinant of the decision-making were primarily expectations. This factor contributed to a rapid consumer credit growth in the period of economic boom. In the period of economic recession, a considerable worsening of expectations (unemployment, further fiscal policy decisions) led households to gradual precautionary savings despite the year-on-year decrease in growth of nominal disposable income. Moreover, since 2011, the nominal disposable income declined. This analysis also shows that the factor of expectations influenced household behaviour more than the factor of banks' interest rate policy. This fact was notably evident in the recession when commercial banks responded to the change in rates of the Czech National Bank by lowering their consumer credit interest rates in a lesser extent. However, in this uncertain period of prudent stance of both banks and households, the consumer credit growth slowed down, moreover, it decreased in 2011. This piece of knowledge about this important role of expectations in the period of a great uncertainty that results in building up precautionary savings is indicated also by research papers from abroad.
Analysis of the japanese lost decade in the 90's of the 20th century
Klimeš, Jakub ; Vostrovská, Zdenka (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Pavel (referee)
This bachelor thesis tries to describe the causes of Japanese recession in the 90's of 20. century and attempts to clarify why this crisis took so long. The analysis of the real GDP, specifically adjustment of its individual components, uprooted the hypothesis that the deepening of the recession was caused by Japanese household net saving rate. This thesis stands critical towards Keynesian recommendations which were applied in 90's in Japan. This thesis follows fiscal interventions of the Japanese government and also the monetary policy of the Bank of Japan because their actions led to the deepening of the recession in the 90's.

Čapek, Dušan ; Bartošová, Jitka (advisor) ; Pokorný, Pavel (referee)
One of the key tasks ahead for EU countries is assessment and fight against poverty and social exclusion. Each member of european community has to concern with poverty measurement and prediction of households, which are by poverty endangered. Related to household income decrease under certain level (poverty line) is change of consumer behaviour, which can lead to increase of material inanition. This diploma work is therefore focused on determination of indicators, which either increase the risk of czech household decreasing below poverty line or monitor differences in customer behaviour of relatively "poor" and "rich" households.

Real estate prices are an important indicator of an economic activity in economy. The question of the inhabitancy is fundamental for majority of households. There was recorded an expressive growth of self -- living in the real estate market and the mortgage credit market in past years. I identify individual factors which impact to the market and appoint their importance. For the analysis is important to set off the subjects on the market because each subjekt is determinated of individual factors with different intensity.
