This paper deals with nuclear power plant Temelín and its aesthetical, social, cultural and landscape context. The power plant is located in South Bohemia, Czech Republic). Theoretical part of this paper begins with definition of aesthetical paradigm. Influence of history and culture is stressed here. History of europe landscape painting and some important chapters of philosophy and aesthetic are mentioned. Next part deals with social, cultural and landscape changes of Czech rural areas and whole landscape in 20th century. It is focused mainly on South Bohemia and Vltavotýnsko region to show social and historical context of nuclear powr plant Temelín, its construction and influence. Practical part of this paper begins with geographical and demographica! descritpion of chosen locality. It is followed hy summary of power plants influence on the landscape. Paper sums up results of previous studie s and defmes methodology and theory of the qualitative research. Final part contains results and discussion. Results of aesthetica1 perception of nuclear power plant are discussed and put into wider context of changes of Czech countryside and landscape.

Vácha, Miroslav ; Weinzettl, Vladimír (advisor) ; Piffl, Vojtěch (referee)
Title: Detection systems for measurements of high-temperature plasma radiation on the COMPASS tokamak by fast bolometers and soft X-ray detectors Author: Miroslav Vácha Department: Institute of Particle and Nuclear Physics Supervisor: Mgr. Vladimír Weinzettl, Ph.D., Institute of Plasma Physics AS CR, v.v.i. Supervisor's e-mail address: vwei@ipp.cas.cz Abstract: Multi-channel spectroscopic diagnostics on the COMPASS tokamak com- prising AXUV-based bolometers, soft X-ray (SXR) and visible light detectors will cover a wide spectral range of the core and edge plasma emission, aiming to realize a fast tomography at microsecond time scales. This thesis reports on a development of the bolometric and SXR diagnostics. First, procedures of the detector selection and their tests are described. There the design and tests of the special complex port plug, com- bining both detection systems, taken into account a strongly limited available space, a heat protection and a shielding during a cleaning glow discharge, is also summarized. Development of new electronic amplifiers and their connection with the data acquisition system is documented. In the last chapters, basic methods for analysis of data collected using these diagnostic systems are introduced. Keywords: tokamak, plasma radiation, photodiode, tomography

Praha 2008 Introduction Acyclic nucleoside phosphonates (ANPs) represent a key class of nucleotide analogs with a broad spectrum of antiviral and cytostatic activity.1 Among ANPs, particularly 9-[2- (phosphonomethoxy)ethyl]adenine (PMEA, adefovir, Figure 1) is active against DNA and retroviruses; its prodrug, adefovir dipivoxil, was approved for hepatitis B therapy (Hepsera). 9-(R)-[2-(Phosphonomethoxy)propyl]adenine (PMPA, tenofovir), is a promising anti-HIV drug, its prodrug Viread was approved for treatment of AIDS and chronic hepatitis B. A third type of antiviral compounds is represented...

Molecular identification of purebredness and kinship of the Philippine crocodile (\kur{Crocodylus mindorensis}) and the Cuban crocodile (\kur{C. rhombifer}) for \kur{ex situ} conservation management
STRAKOVÁ, Helena
The current status of crocodilians recognizes them as a group under serious threat due to their habitat destruction and illegal poaching for their lucrative products. In addition to these threats, the elimination of spatial and temporal boundaries through modern anthropogenic pressures has facilitated hybridization in crocodiles by bringing together species that would otherwise not breed due to lack of opportunity. Here analyzed crocodiles, the Philippine crocodile (Crocodylus mindorensis) and the Cuban crocodile (Crocodylus rhombifer) are critically endangered and listed in CITES Appendix I. This study deals with a significant portion of the Philippine and Cuban crocodile captive population in Europe based on mtDNA, nucDNA and microsatellites. The species genetical purity of 13 specimen of C. mindorensis was determined on the ground of testing maternally inherited mitochondrial gene cytochrome b and and D-loop loci from the mitochondrial control region as well as two nuclear markers, LDHA and C-mos. Also the purity of 11 out of mentioned 13 individuals on the basis of several (7) microsatellite loci, while possibly confirming a supposed hybrid origin of two crocodiles with mixed morphotype. Then a purity of 4 samples of the Cuban crocodile was verified with cyt b gene and nuclear DNA purity of all 7 tested individuals with LDHA gene and 13 microsatellites. Based on the obtained genetic characters I proceeded a likely kinship of the two groups of crocodiles and subsequently suggested an optimal breeding management within the ex-situ conservation

Low-potential Heat Produced by Temelin NPP and Possibilities of its Utilization
VEJVODA, Jan
This thesis aims to provide an overview of possibilities of using low-potential waste heat produced at the CEZ Temelin Nuclear Power Plant. It also shows current technological possibilities of using low-potential heat sources in the primary form or as a waste by-product in leisure time aquapark, eventually the waste heat used as a source of central heat system supply victim village.

In particular, these are topics which involve the debt relief of developing countries, poverty reduction, nuclear safety, international security and terrorism.

Measurement of the link between pressure pulsations and blade vibrations at NT3 TG2 ETE : contract number-771215
Procházka, Pavel ; Vaněk, František ; Sadílek, J. ; Hodboď, Robert
The report presents results of measurements of pressure pulsations and vibrations of the stationary and rotating blade wheels of the third low-pressure stage of the turbine set NT3 TG2 in the nuclear power plant Temelín during the turbine start-up from 27th June to 3rd July 2012. Phenomena and relationships identified are discussed on the basis of time and frequency data analysis of the installed pressure sensors and accelerators. The blade vibrations in the monitored period are compared with the phenomena recorded during the measurement as well as previous long-term measurements in the years 2009 to 2011.
