Continuing Beginner Learners in Adult EFL Classes

This thesis deals with the issue of teaching continuing beginners in adult EFL classes. It focuses on the description of factors that may influence the learning stagnation among these learners, and it attempts to ascertain the extent to which these factors take effect. Consequently, the thesis aims to characterize Czech continuing beginners as an independent group of learners and to provide scientific evidence which could clarify the assumptions, underlying the continuing-beginner concept. Lastly, but importantly, the thesis also intends to instigate further research in the field. The subject was investigated from the perspective of available pedagogical, andragogcial and psychological literature. Accordingly, four major factors, which may be at the root of continuing-beginner phenomenon, were identified: a mismatch between learning and teaching styles, insufficient study motivation, hindrances to learning and learning disabilities. These four areas were further focused on in a questionnaire survey, using rating scales to determine the importance of the individual areas. The study worked with three hypotheses. Specific developmental disordersmof scholasticskills and their reeducation

The thesis describes specific learning disabilities in general with the main accent on dyslexia, dysgraphia and dysortographia. It states causes and displays of SLD and their reflec- tion in children's mental well and the life of their families. It also deals with general reeduca- tion methods of learning disabilities and specific methods of dyslexia, dysgraphia and dysortographia remedy including outline of tools needed for reeducation. It presents care sys- tem for children with SLD in Czech Republic or who may be involved in care and education of these individuals. There are following methods used for the research in the practical part of the thesis: analysis of documentation, observation, interview and processing of casuistries. The research took place in two institutions, which deal with care about children with SLDs. It is the goal of the practical part of the bachelor thesis to present two institutions working with children with SLD, analyze their remedy methods and assemble casuistries of two selected students.

This work focuses on aktivity of an educational adviser at primary schools. This work concentrates on adviser's personality, his special knowledges. The most important part of the the work is adviser's scope of employment , solving problemes of pupils, cooperations with other teachers, with parents and selection of career.
Preparation of child for primary school entrance.

This bachelor thesis deals with versatile preparation of preschool age children before they enter a primary school. The work describes the organization and functions of preschool education. "Decalogue for parents of preschool children" assembled by a group of experts on preschool education is mentioned here. There are explained terms of school maturity and school readiness in this thesis. The set of school maturity tests "We prevent learning difficulties" is used in the practical part and the goal is to determine what progress will be achieved in diagnosed children by practicing weakened areas.
Conduct disorders as a result of specific learning disorders

This thesis focuses on relationship between specific learning disorders and conduct disorders in puberty. The theoretical part explains the basic terms apearing in the thesis such as specific learning disorders, conduct disorders, puberty and prevention of conduct disorder formation. It presents Czech and foreign research which have already been done in this and related areas. The empirical part uses a quantitative method to measure anxiety and occurrence of conduct disorders in second grade students in 2. ZŠ in Třeboň and ZŠ Londýnská in Prague. Data gained from children with specific learning disorder are compared with data from children without disorder.
Musicotherapy from the perspective of learning and behavioral disorders

The goal of my diploma thesis is introduce one of alternative direction {--} music therapy, to outline the sphere of specific learning and behavior disorders, and also to give a guide, how to apply components of music therapy during the work with children with these disorders. The thesis consists of two parts {--} a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part focuses on defining key terms, such as music therapy, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dysortographia, dyscalculia, dyspinxia, dysmusia, dyspraxia. In my work I aim to clarify the question of ADHD and try to point out the relation of particular learning and behavior disorders. The practical part includes twenty activities that were made firstly according to a methodical manual written by M. Beníčková and Z. Vilímek, who use the Czech method of music therapy {--} Music of body, and secondly on the base of casuistry of two boys attending special practical school. Each activitiy should develop particular skills, comprises tools, motivation, its own description and analysis coming out of a practical accomplishment. The method of observing was used for the evaluation.
