Antiviral vaccination - hepatitis A virus
Rančáková, Hana ; Drda Morávková, Alena (advisor) ; Fraiberk, Martin (referee)
Hepatitis A is an ifectious disease caused by Hepatitis A virus (HAV) from Picornaviridae family. HAV is an uneveloped virus composed of positive single-stranded RNA and a capsid with icosahedral symmetry. This infection is wide-spread and endemic in many regions of the world. The main way of transmission is throught the fecal-oral route. The possible symptoms, that can appear during the disease are fever, fatigue, muscle-pain, nausea, vomiting and afterward yellowish discoloration of the skin and mucous membranes. On the other hand, the disease can proceed without any symptoms, that is common especially in the childhood. The people can shelter from the disease by aplication of vaccine. At this time there are four inactivated hepatitis A vaccines at the world market. All of the vaccines are highly effective and provide a long-term protection. This work is intent on the infection of hepatitis A virus, the possibilities of prevention with vaccines and the inclusion of curriculum about viral diseases and vaccination in the School Educational Programmes.

Introduction: The aim of bachelor thesis is about the preparedness of health care facilities. The unexpected epidemic of Ebola 2014 in West Africa has become an international concern and the preparedness of health care facilities, prevention and control of this disease have become a major issue of concern. Methodology: For the development of the thesis, we chose a qualitative method, a form of research was an interview. The questions were designed in our own creation. The interview was conducted by epidemiological workers in surveyed health care facilities. The main objective of the research was to determine, what the methodologies in health care facilities are during admission and stay of a patient with Ebola. Results: From our analysis, the survey indicates that the organizational structure of hospital care ensures that patient with Ebola are handled according to the Government decree no. 15/2013 and health care facilities proceed according to the directive for unified procedure. In the development of an extraordinary incident, this is subjected to the International Health regulations in relation to the occurrence of highly dangerous infectious diseases in a health care facility. Another finding is that health professionals are familiar with the procedures in care of an Ebola patient by developed...
Life-saving issues in highly infectious patients
GRUNTOVÁ, Petra
For a start, the theme of this bachelor thesis is the problematics of life-saving highly infectious patients. The thesis consists of a theoretical and a researching part. The theoretical part starts with conveys several chapters about highly infectious patients and how the infections are transmitted. Following chapters are devoted to volatile infections, dangerous infections with natural outbreak, and nosocomial infections. Finally the theoretical part ends with chapters concerning life-saving issues, life threat and barrier nursing. Furthermore, the second part was processed in the form of qualitative research. One of the purposes of this bachelor thesis is to map the problematics of life-saving highly infectious patients, then to map infections most often encountered by paramedics and to map the possibilities of protective equipment in pre-hospital emergency care in highly infectious patients. In addition, there were three main questions raised. Firstly, what is the life-saving procedure in highly infectious patients? Secondly, what kind of infection is most commonly encountered by paramedics? Lastly, what are the possibilities of the protective equipment concerning highly infectious patients in pre-hospital emergency medical services? Data have been collected in the form of semi-structured interviews conducted with paramedics who have been working in the ambulance service for more than one year. The research group consists of ten volunteers whose selection was intentional. The research was carried out during March 2019 and was completed when the amount of data was theoretically sufficient. The topics of the interviews were: saving lives, frequency of the infectious diseases and the protective equipment in pre-hospital emergency medical services needed for the highly infectious patients. As a matter of fact, there are three main categories each with own subcategories and codes. With regard to pre-hospital emergency care, this bachelor thesis significantly approaches the problematics of highly infectious diseases and provides with the insight into the difficulties of procedures and barrier care concerning highly infectious patients.
Life-saving issues in highly infectious patients
GRUNTOVÁ, Petra
The topic of this bachelor thesis is "Problematics of saving life in highly infectious patients."This thesis is consist of teoretic and researcher part. The teoretic part deal with short history of infectious diseases, disease agent and transmission infectious diseases, division of infects by agents, transmission path, selected infectious diseases, barrier care during treatment, selected procedures for security and treatment patients and it is closed chapter about bioterrism and biological weapons. Part of research has been processed by form of quality research. The aim of this bachelor thesis is chart problematice of saving life in highly infectious patients, then chart infections, with which meet paramedics most often and chart possibility of protective equipments in pre-hospital urgent care by highly infectious patients. It has been compiled three following research questions: 1. What is the proces of savinf life in highly infectious patients? 2. With what infections meet paramedics most often? 3. Which are the options of protective equipments in pre-hospital urgent care in highly infectious patients? Data collection was passing of form of semi-structured dialogues, which were implemented with paramedics, who work on ambulance more than a year. Research file consists of 10 probands, whose choice was deliberate. Research was implemented during March 2019 and it was terminated at the time of theoretical saturation. Topics of dialogues were: savig life, frequency of infectious diseases and protective equipments in pre-hospital urgent care in highly infectious patients. Total were processed 3 main categories, from which come out subcategories and codes. Considering pre-hospital urgent care is this thesis beneficial by approaching problematice of saving life in highly infectious diseases and it brings a view at treatment procedures and barrier care in highly infectious patiens.
Epidemiological and ecological impacts of floods in the Cesky Krumlov district
PAPOUŠKOVÁ, Michala
The topic of my diploma thesis are Epidemiological and ecological impacts of floods in the Cesky Krumlov district. In the theoretical part I deal, from the perspective of epidemiology, with infectious diseases that may occur due to floods, I explain what information system was used by the regional hygiene stations in order to carry out the obligatory report, records, and analysis of occurrence of infectious diseases, and I would like to point out that from 1 January 2018 on, a new system started working for regional hygiene stations in the Czech Republic. Further, I deal with ecological impacts, and explain ecology in terms of Nature Conservation Act. Last but not least, I mention floods as such in the theoretical part, I define flood legislation, what administrative authorities work if such a crisis situation occurs, and what flood affected the region of Cesky Krumlov. The practical part analyses Epidat and the ISIN information system data using metaanalysis, searching for a link between them and infectious diseases during floods. I focused on infectious diseases that ma occur in connection to floods, such as Leptospirosis, Shigelosis, Cryptosporidiosis, Gastroenteritis caused by Campylobacteria and Norovirus, Virus Hepatitis type A, and Virus Hepatitis type E. The Discussion part evaluates the questionnaire aimed at the citizens of Cesky Krumlov region, also at the primary school pupils. What is their image of consequences of floods, and what may bet he cause. The results are then discussed in the conclusion of my diploma thesis. Creating an information leaflet meant for the lay public is another output of my diploma thesis.
Injecting drug use and other infectious-related risks among prisoners - situation and prevention
Vašíčková, Jana ; Mravčík, Viktor (advisor) ; Hönigová, Karolína (referee)
Prisons are a risk environment in terms of presence of injecting drug use and infectious diseases. Prisoners should be able to access harm reduction programs. Within the framework of the prevention of the spread of infectious diseases among prisoners, a pilot project (HA-REACT) was implemented during which there were condom vending machines installed in 2 randomly selected departments of Prague-Pankrác Prison. I was able to get involved in the project implementation. The aim of my research was to determine the incidence rate of infectious diseases and risk behaviour among prisoners in the Prague-Pankrác prison. The investigated risk behaviour concerned the injecting drug use, sharing equipment for injecting drug use, practising of sex and the use of condoms. Interest was also paid to using and evaluating the condom vending machines at the end of the 1 month period during which they were available to the prisoners. Within the framework of the evaluation of the pilot distribution of condoms, the NMS conducted a questionnaire survey at 2 prisons, the evaluation of which was provided to me. The respondents of the questionnaire were prisoners who had a condom vending machine available for 1 month. I divided the respondents into 3 age groups, picked out questions from the questionnaire which I had...
