Perception of vehicle speed from the perspective of different driving experience
Budinová, Nela ; Bradáč, Albert (referee) ; Bilík, Martin (advisor)
Presented diploma thesis deals with the perception of vehicle speed from the different driving experiences point of view. The thesis is divided into two parts. First, the theoretical part is about motor vehicle construction, driving experiences, and further about the influence of gender on driving and sensory and emotional perception of humans. The second part is dedicated to practical measurement, where vehicle speeds were estimated during driving tests. During this measurement, the test circuit was passed two times in each vehicle. First run was dedicated to full concentration on a drive. In the second run, the respondents were distracted by sudoku solving. Subsequent evaluation of the obtained data is being executed from different points of view – speed category, men vs women, and roads category.
Train Speed on the Selected Line Section
Horák, Matouš ; Hoza, Miroslav (referee) ; Svoboda, Richard (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis is engaged in finfing out speed of trains in particular section of the railway track. The first part describes a direct method of measure „in situ“ and processing the data acquired this way. The second part describes the other way, namely modeling in programme OpenTrack, then follows comparison the results from this similation with real measured values.
Turbine efficiency as a function of speed
Woffová, Helena ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
The subject of the thesis is condensing steam turbine with the required power of 50MWe and set input and output parameters. The turbine is designed as a two-body turbine. There is also designed balance scheme with reheating, regeneration and air condenser. Subsequently, the thermodynamic calculation for three variations of high pressure part with different speeds is demonstrated. The result is evaluated in terms of calculated efficiency and also in an economic point of view. The output is a selection of the variation with the best parameters. Then the basic dimensioning calculations, the design of the leveling piston and the sealing system follows for this variation. A simplified section of this part is drawn. Finally, the balance scheme is adjusted based on the data and calculated for limited performance as well.
Brake mean effective pressure of an internal-combustion engine for passengers cars and motorcycles
Vopršal, Oldřich ; Svída, David (referee) ; Drápal, Lubomír (advisor)
The aim of this work is to discuss the meaning, definition and mapping of the characteristics of the value of the mean effective pressure depending on the historical development of internal combustion engines of automobiles and motorcycles from the initial concepts to the current development. In this work I want to compare and evaluate the values of the mean effective pressure for non-supercharged and supercharged piston combustion cars and motorcycles. Part of the work will be a graphical representation of the values of mean effective pressures and subsequent analysis and evaluation of the values against the design concept of the internal combustion engine in the historical period. Furthermore, a description of the structural elements that contribute to the increase of the mean effective pressure.
Development of improvement in muscle strength, coordination and speed in sport climbing in children of elementary school age
Pfeiferová, Zuzana ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Vomáčková, Helena (referee)
Title: Development of improvement in muscle strength, coordination and speed in sport climbing in children of elementary school age Objectives: The aim of this diploma theses is to investigate whether there will be an improvement of muscle strength, coordination and speed in children of elementary school age who attend club of sport climbing and compare results with control group. Another aim of this study is to indicate the relationship between the examined parameters. Methods: This is a quantitative study - quasi-experiment in which 28 probands aged 7-11 years participated. They were deliberately selected and divided into two groups (climbers, non-climbers). Coordination measurements were performed using eight special tests, measurements of muscle strength were performed using three climbing tests and speed was measured by time of climbing on one route. The measurements were performed two with an interval of 3 months - in October 2019 and in January 2020. Results: A statistically significant improvement (p <0.001) was noted in coordination, specifically in rhythmic ability. Other improvements, which, however, no longer reached the level of statistical significance, was recorded in coordination in tests for differentiation ability, orientation ability, ability to rebuild; also in tests for muscle...
Use of Crossfit in condition training of junior ice hockey players
Drda, Jakub ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Kaplan, Aleš (referee)
Title: Use of Crossfit in condition training of junior ice hockey players Objectives: Main idea of this thesis was to prove, that Crossfit is usefull in ice hockey while pre-season. We aimed to proved crossfit improvment at generally condition presupposition, compare to other training method. Main area of condition were speed and power presupposition. Methods: In our thesis we used a method of analysis and a method of comparison. We apllied the method of analysis in pre-season of ice hockey and the method of comparison in comparing the two different types of training method. We used Crossfit as training method, which was applied on junior hockey. Strength training based on Crossfit exercise is going to be compared with running training, This running training program is use for training of junior hockey players. In the period under consideration of the performance stage we assess the change of power and speed performances of the ice hockey players. To assassmnet we used battery of test which is identify for Czech junior hockey league. We applied this test on junior players at age 17-20, which are playing 2. Czech league. Results: This thesis proved that Crossfit can be used in pre-season training oj junior hockey. At the same time proved that explosive power assumption on players which used Crossfit...
Experimental study of artificial articular cartilage friction
Kulíšek, Vlastimil ; Ranuša, Matúš (referee) ; Rebenda, David (advisor)
Many conventional materials are used to replace damaged articular cartilage, which are beginning to be replaced by innovative biomimetic materials that mimic cartilage properties. One of these materials are poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) hydrogels crosslinked by freeze-thawing and cast-drying method. These hydrogels possess similar mechanical as articular cartilage. In order to clarify the effect of kinematic conditions on the friction of hydrogels, three levels of sliding speed and load and a uniform lubricant – PBS were chosen. The coefficient of friction of the FT hydrogel decreased with increasing load. The dependence of the sliding speed did not show a uniform trend and corresponded to the adsorption-repellent model for PVA gels. The coefficient of friction of the CD hydrogel increased with increasing sliding speed according to the repulsion-adsorption model for PVA gels. The increase in load at low sliding speeds of CD hydrogel caused a slight decrease in the coefficient of friction. At the highest speed, there was an optimal load at which a low coefficient of friction was achieved. The CD hydrogel showed a lower coefficient of friction than cartilage. The FT hydrogel achieved a lower coefficient of friction than cartilage only at 5 N and 10 mm s- 1. This work contributes to the understanding of the tribological properties of PVA hydrogels.

ABS Impact to Behavior of Vehicle
Zich, Jakub ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Strnadel, Josef (advisor)
The bachelor thesis discusses the Anti-lock braking system and its impact on braking distance of a vehicle. The thesis contains research of this problem, a summary of suitable modeling tools, solution draft, its implementation in the UPPAAL modeling tool and tests performed with the model. The tests examine the course of progression of basic quantities associated with braking (velocity, braking distance, slip, angular velocity, friction coefficient) in simulations of emergency braking with and without the use of ABS, and compare the results. They also verify probability of the vehicle stopping in different circumstances on given distance. Lastly, the model can simulate brake or sensor defect, and results of those simulations can be compared to simulations without defect.
Perception of vehicle speed by pedestrian
Rak, Martin ; Semela, Marek (referee) ; Bilík, Martin (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the issue of the perception of speed of a vehicle from pedestrian’s point of view. The theoretical part consists of a research into sense perception of humans and construction of motor vehicles. The practical part designs and describes the experiment which was performed in order to provide data used for analyzing different factors and their effect on the accuracy of vehicle speed estimations.
