Using thermoelectric generator to increase the efficiency of the radiator
Kříž, Pavel ; Janák, Luděk (referee) ; Vlach, Radek (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with a design layout of the fan power supply that ensures the increase of the efficiency of the heating unit. For usage in the areas without electric power, the power supply is secured by thermoelectric generator. The system has to function on the basis of autonomous system which turns itself on only when necessary. In the introductory part of the paper there is a recherché of thermoelectric generators for general usage. Next it mentions the basic findings in from the field of DC/DC converters for low power applications. In this part attention is given to MPPT algorithm. Furthermore basic knowledge from the field of heat transmission together with its most used elements is described. Subsequently existing applications that increase the effectiveness of heating are mentioned. Their disadvantage however is that they depend on the external source of power supply. The practical part to a large extent covers the analysis of the suitability of the chosen thermoelectric module. For securing of the heat gradient of the generator there was a model created meeting the figures in the manual and there are several simulations in the MATLAB program. Furthermore several measurements of the thermoelectric module took place in order to secure realistic figures. Subsequently a DC/DC converter was chosen. Finally the testing was made on the real composition. In conclusion there is an overall evaluation including the real usage and the economical aspect of the project. The outcomes of the work enable to avoid common mistakes that are part of many specialized articles. The created system is to be used after the adjustment of the cooling to the required aim. At the same time it becomes very effective.
Automatic system of the central air circulation
Nedoma, Pravoslav ; Pavlík, Michal (referee) ; Havlíček, Tomáš (advisor)
Project is target on design and realisation of device for control of central ventilation and air distribution. Control unit evaluates air quality in habitable rooms and assure automatic air change. System is driven by microprocessors and uses electronically controlled valves and ventilator regulation. Project is focused on evaluation of carbon dioxide concentration and detection of fire in rooms. Control unit cooperate and communicate via data bus with already designated control unit of hot water heating. Whole unit can be easing connected to the PC using ethernet.
Optimization of air conditioning of the ice stadium
Zach, Daniel ; Rubinová, Olga (referee) ; Blasinski, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis is divided into three parts: theoretical, calculation and experimental measurement. The issue of humid air and air-conditioning in winter stadiums is elaborately analysed in the theoretical part. In the calculation part, the dessertation focuses on the optimization of current draft of hockey hall air conditioning system. The hall is now in operation during the season, which means from September to March. In the dissertation are discussed two variants of the draft. The first variant is draft upgrade to year-round operation with condensing dehumidification. The second option is solved as a combination of air handler unit system and absorption dehumidification. This variant is also designed for seasonal and year-round operation of the ice rink. At the end of the dissertation are all of them compared in terms of annual costs. The experimental measurement is carried out on dehumidification of air from areas with high water gains, in this case swimming pool hall model. This problematics is solved by changing the speed of ventilator and using Peltier generator.
Model the flow of coolant in electrical machine
Potyš, Jiří ; Hájek, Vítězslav (referee) ; Janda, Marcel (advisor)
The thesis is focused on possibilities of asynchronous motors cooling with use of simulation at ANSYS Workbench program. It is divided into two parts. The first part deals with analyses of cooling medium circulation through ventilator and cooling medium circulation on the motor surface. As a result of the analyses is air speed distribution and air pressure representation. The second part of the thesis includes simulation of motor temperature rise both with cooling and without cooling at Ansys Workbench application together with temperature measurement of real asynchronous motor in the laboratory. For cooling purposes air circulation was used. The goal of my research is comparison of the computing results with the measured results.
Automatized working place for measuring of airflow parameters
Smělý, Jakub ; Vejlupek, Josef (referee) ; Vlach, Radek (advisor)
This thesis describes the design work for the measurement of air values. The first part describes the airflow, pressure build-up in pipes and losses due to airflow losses. There is also a description of fans and explain their characteristics depending on the pressure generated by airflow. The next part describes the design of the measuring chamber, electronics and control for fully automatic measurement of air quantities.
Air handling units
Cakl, Dominik ; Blasinski, Petr (referee) ; Rubina, Aleš (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the analysis of problems of unevenly stratified air flow in air handling units and subsequent optimization with respect to speed ratios, energy efficiency and legislative requirements. Methods of solving the problem are theoretical and experimental, while the theoretical part deals with air distribution by means of air-conditioning fans with a focus on their aerodynamics, pressure conditions and other requirements, which are an integral part of properly designed equipment. In the experimental part of the thesis was applied a proposal of an innovative technical approach to a specific model of air conditioning assembly, which was implemented in the laboratories of the Institute of Building Services.
Measurement of thermal field in electric machines
Dostálek, Martin ; Vítek, Ondřej (referee) ; Janda, Marcel (advisor)
Diagnosis temperature is one of the most important disciplines. We meet it in everyday life, but it is very important for all sectors of industry. This is a measurement providing an immediate state of the measured object. Contact measurement of different temperature sensors and contactless measurement using thermal imagers. The important part is the measurement of temperature rise of induction motor. Part of the work deals with losses in the electric motor. These losses are converted into heat, which affects from various parts of the machine. Correct identification of the temperature field is important in helping to design the cooling system of the instrument. Virtually the data obtained are compared with theoretical data. We will capture part of the device and realize thermal simulations in a suitable simulation program. We propose modifying the cooling machine and the resulting data from the simulation compares.
Analysis of ventilation effect of radial channels in the rotor of electrical machines
Kratochvílová, Hana ; Marcián, Petr (referee) ; Vlach, Radek (advisor)
This thesis deals with the determination of a ventilation effect of the radial channel, that is used in a rotor of an electrical motor. CFD simulations of the channel are done in Ansys CFX software. The first chapter explains the basic theory of fans, flow, thermomechanics, CFD and structural effects of rotation on the channel. The second chapter focuses on the determination of the fan curve, the power curve, and the efficiency curve. Different types of turbulence and fluid compressibility models are used for simulations and their influence on the result is evaluated. The third part evaluates the design of the radial channel from a structural point of view.
