Modernity and holocaust

The thesis deals with the design of the Holocaust Documentation Centre in Moravia. Currently, there are several museums dealing with the Holocaust in our country, but none of them provides comprehensive documentation of the Holocaust. The proposal therefore seeks to create a museum that will be able to report on the Holocaust in a broader context and at the same time will be an attractive environment, especially for visitors living in the multimedia world of the 21st century.

Ukrainian migration to the Czech Republic: challenges and successes of integration in times of war

The thesis deals with the migration of Ukrainians to the Czech Republic and analyses the problems and successes in the process of their integration into Czech society during the period of the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine. The aim of the thesis is to provide a detailed overview of the migration of Ukrainians to the Czech Republic and to describe the challenges faced by the migrants. The thesis examines various aspects of integration and inclusion, including social, cultural, legal and economic. The main focus is on issues such as adaptation to the new environment, employment, education, support for migrants and socialization in the Czech Republic. Emphasis is also placed on the positive aspects of migration and integration as well as on issues related to barriers to integration. The work includes successful integration practices, models of support and best practices that can be used to further improve the situation of Ukrainian migrants in the Czech Republic. In the research part, the results of qualitative research obtained with the help of a questionnaire are presented. This thesis will serve as material for further discussion and development of policies and measures that will lead to effective integration of Ukrainian citizens into Czech society. The Strategic Position of Eastern Galicia within the West Ukrainian Republic

This bachelor's thesis focuses on a partial episode of international and diplomatic relations of one of the short-lived successor states of Austria-Hungary - the West Ukrainian Republic. When, in the fall of 1918, war broke out between Poland and the West Ukrainian Republic over which side would have a permanent claim to Eastern Galicia, France and Great Britain made repeated efforts to settle the disputes between the two states, but in the end the sovereignty of the West Ukrainian Republic was not preserved. The aim of the thesis is to determine the reasons why the West Ukrainian Republic as a geopolitical entity did not receive sufficient foreign support to ensure its existence and independence in the fight against Poland. For the research purposes of the work, a combination of several historiographical methodological procedures was used, such as direct, indirect, or progressive. The purpose of this procedure is a clear chronological description of key events, such as diplomatic missions, meetings of delegations, or the work of commissions preparing key documents. Title: Creation of methodological support for the implementation of movement programs for children of younger school age in Czech, Ukrainian and Russian Aim: The aim of the bachelor thesis is to create appropriate and comprehensible methodological support to promote physical activity among Ukrainian children in asylum in the Czech Republic. Methods: The bachelor thesis consists of three parts and has a theoretical-empirical character. In the first, theoretical part a qualitative approach (literature search) is used. In the second part, based on the research, a proposal for methodological support was created, which was subsequently translated to be available in three languages: Czech, Ukrainian and Russian. In the third, empirical part, a quantitative approach in the form of an anonymous questionnaire- type survey was used. The research sample for the empirical part was obtained by the method of purposive sampling. The respondents were mainly persons from the field of education who work with children, persons from families affected by the war (refugees from the invaded country), families from the country that started the war and families of Czech citizens whose children suffered from psychological problems related to the war. The diploma thesis deals with the approach of children's nurses to Ukrainian war refugee children requiring intensive oncological care. In nursing care, transcultural-multicultural nursing models are used as an ethical principle. In particular, the models of M. Leiningerová, J.N. Gigerová, and R. Davidhizarová created in the 1950s focus on holistic cultural care, health, and disease manifestations of individuals or groups and respect the common features of cultural values, beliefs, and practices. Širým světem of Stanislav Nikolau. Geographical magazine 1924 - 1944

The diploma thesis deals with the magazine "Širým světem", which was managed by Stanislav Nikolau (1878-1950), a prominent figure in the public life of the First Czechoslovak Republic. Based on a historical analysis of primary sources, placed in context by the study of secondary literature, it completes Nikolau's personality including his views orientation that is based on the ideas of the nationalist right-wing, with a strong anti-Communist orientation, through the leadership of the Czech fascist movement Vlajka to the anti-Semitic rhetoric. The thesis presents his rich activity in the pedagogical, journalistic, and editorial field and does not omit his professional work that was always closely intertwined with geography. However, it is an analysis of the non-fictional periodical "Širým světem. The Geographical Magazine", founded by Nikolau for young readers in 1924 that is the core of the thesis. The magatine's content also corresponded to that − it included adventure stories, short stories and original travel reports that − in addition to the resilience of the human spirit − also reflected the diversity of geographical conditions especially on non-European continents. Wartime propaganda: media coverage of Russo-Ukrainian conflict 2022

This study examines the characteristics and purposes of propaganda narratives employed in the media coverage of the Russo-Ukrainian War. Through a content analysis of 89 articles from three Russian media outlets, namely governmental, affiliated with the government, and free-non-governmental, the study aims to shed light on the nature and objectives of these narratives. By employing comparative analysis and coding techniques, the research identifies and describes the propaganda narratives present in the articles, providing real-life examples to illustrate their usage. The major findings reveal the presence of both strategic and tactical propaganda narratives, with distinct characteristics and goals. The study contributes to understanding the role of propaganda in shaping public perception and offers insights into the dynamics of information dissemination during conflict situations. The conclusions highlight the need to differentiate between journalism and propaganda and emphasize the significance of media ownership and proximity to the government in influencing the utilization of propaganda narratives.

Nation, religion and manipulation: Post-war media scene in the countries of the former Yugoslavia

This study focuses on the media narratives on social dynamics and reconciliation in the media of former Yugoslav countries, Serbia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, more than two decades after the end of wars. The research focuses on the presence of divisive narratives, such as offensive language, bias and sensationalism, elements of national stereotypization, hate speech, and commitment to impartial journalism in current media practices. The historical background of media control and manipulation in Yugoslavia, from the Tito era to nationalist narratives during the Yugoslav wars, forms a significant part of the research context. The study aims to shed light on critical aspects of media reporting, setting the stage for future research into the broader political and economic issues affecting the media landscape in these countries.
