Toxicity of overburden and what determine it
Haurová, Jaroslava ; Frouz, Jan (advisor) ; Bartuška, Martin (referee)
The bachelor thesis provides an overview and summary of the possible causes of phytotoxicity on mineral extraction sites, mentions the impact on plant biota, the impact on surrounding ecosystems and explores the possibilities of reducing or mitigating the effects. The main cause of phytotoxicity is low pH, which arises from the natural weathering of native materials and results in most soil processes and contamination. A way in which phytotoxicity can be mitigated on spoil heaps sites are by choosing appropriate reclamation.
Investment in Cryptocurrency

The conclusion of this thesis employs a multicriteria decision-making process to select an appropriate exchange and cryptocurrency for investment.
Zpracování strategického scénáře vývoje zásob a těžeb buku na ŠLP "Masarykův les" Křtiny s výhledem na 30 let
Mašek, Michal
This piece of work seeks to suggest an optimal strategy for beech felling to avoid high felling fluctuations in the future. This particular suggestion is based on the last two forest management plans. Divisions based on the age class in the last two decades were analysed (described?) and compared with each other. The calculations of felling plan were based on two different scenarios. Based on felling balance comparison, both scenarios could be used. The second scenario is preferred based on economic reasons.

The purpose of this reclamation is {\clqq}return to nature``.
Environmental contamination of mining areas and the possibilities of their phytoremediation
Pecina, Václav ; Pospíšilová, Ľubica (referee) ; Pavlů,, Lenka (referee) ; Komendová, Renata (advisor)
Environmental pollution with heavy metals is a global problem escalating in areas with mining. The search for solutions to this problem has been the subject of research for the past decades. This work is conceived as a set of four case studies focused on environmental pollution of mining areas and phytoremediation of polluted soils. The conclusions of all four studies are discussed in the context of the situation in Mongolia, where the investigation of this issue is at an initial stage. The results of the environmental pollution investigation in the mining areas showed (I) the unsuitability of the transformation of the mining-processing plant and the adjacent heap in Příbram into a forest park due to the persistent heavy pollution of the soil with the heavy metals (As, Cd, Pb and Zn) causing potential health risks for visitors and inhibition of the tree seedlings even after the implementation of the reclamation project and (II) the low level of soil pollution of the mining areas in Mongolia with no expected risks to the local population. The results of the phytoremediation studies confirmed the potential of Lupinus luteus L. and Festuca rubra L. in combination with specific additives (mainly biochar from willow chips, poultry feather ash and chalcedonite, respectively) for aided phytostabilization of soils polluted with Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni and Zn, and Cr(VI), respectively, and thus the potential for use in phytoremediation of heavy metal-polluted soils in mining areas. Regarding uncontrolled grazing in Mongolia, phytostabilization of heaps and making them inaccessible is necessary to reduce the risks of spreading contamination and intoxication not only of livestock. A promising species for phytoremediation in Mongolia may be Larix sibirica Ledeb.; a suitable type of mining waste management aided phytostabilization focusing on the use of potentially available manure and wood chips. Future research should implement experiments with identified plant species and additives and find other suitable local species capable of creating a continuous vegetation cover.
Assessment of disused sand and gravel pits in the Třeboň region from the perspective of landscape ecology
Eliášová, Kateřina ; Matějček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Lipský, Zdeněk (referee)
This thesis summarizes findings gained about abandoned sand and gravel pits located in the Třeboňsko Protected Landscape Area. A study of written documents, old maps, aerial images and a field survey of selected sites were used to find out information on mining and mining pits. In the survey, erosion of mining walls, pollution, land use, land cover, dominant and invasive plant species and moisture of mining pits were monitored in sectors of approx. 1 ha or the bank length of about 500 m. A total of 127 sites was included, 37 of which were surveyed in the field. A classification has been created based on age, size, moisture conditions and current land use. Changes caused by mining, including changes in land use and land cover before and after mining, as well as the interaction of mining sites with the Territorial System of Ecological Stability (ÚSES) were also monitored. The majority of sand and gravel pits are small with an area less than 1 ha, dry pits predominate, and most sites were abandoned in the 1970s to 1990s. In about half of the cases, the land cover or land use from before mining have been restored. The main land cover change is the formation of large lakes and forests while the non-forest surface is more diversified after mining. Sites converted into arable land or built-up areas are...
Cryptocurrency – a modern kind of money

Properties of reclaimed post mining catchments and its effect of run of chemistry
Hurychová, Renata ; Přikryl, Ivo (advisor) ; Rojík, Petr (referee)
After the end of hydric recultivation from the monitored source of watering, artificially bulit-up lakes are fed with the water from their own basin. This water is not so systematically monitored as compared to the water from the new lake and the sources of its filling. This thesis summarizes findings about the developement of artificially made basin in the mining area and explains differences between various basins. Further, this work deals with the characteristics of water feeding lake "Chabarovicke jezero (Milada)", which was bulit-up during hydric recultivation of the mineshaft in the soft-coal quarry Chabarovice. Monitored basins have different area, slope, vegetation coverage and distribution of dissolved compounds. These factors have significant impact on the character of the water in affluents. We found out, that affluents from the own basin have high concentration of dissolved compounds resulting in the unwanted enrichment of the lake. Big problem was the high concentration of sulphates and nitrates, which in all affluents, except for one, exceed tolerated limits for surface waters. In the course of time, concentrations of dissolved compounds go down. Particular affluents differ between each other and the main impact on the water characteristic is the slope, exposition and area. In the...
