Examination of structures and functions of the shoulder joint in swimmers.
Lenčéšová, Eliška ; Kučerová, Klára (advisor) ; Rampová, Michaela (referee)
Swimming is considered one of the most suitable physical activities. Almost all muscle groups are involved in this sport. The aquatic environment in which this sport is performed eliminates the static load that is present in other sports. This is one of the many reasons why this sport is considered an ideal physical activity for people of all age groups. Shoulder injuries and pain are the most common problems swimmers experience. This occurs because of the nature of the movement that is performed during swimming. It involves repetitive movement of the upper limbs, the great effort required to overcome the resistance of the water and the attempt to generate as much speed as possible. These, and many more, are the reasons why the highest number of injuries occur at this location. Most of the force that is generated to move forward is provided by the upper limbs. The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to compare shoulder examination using clinical tests, which are available to all examiners, with ultrasound examination. Six subjects were examined, 3 males and 3 females. All probands are currently involved in competitive swimming or have been involved in the past and are currently practicing the sport at least 4 times a week. The probands involved in this work reported one shoulder with present pain...
Burnout syndrome in swimmers of age-group categories
Slámová, Jana ; Zenáhlík, Aleš (advisor) ; Hubená, Kristýna (referee)
Title: Burnout syndrome in swimmers of age-group categories Objectives: The aim of this work was to systematically map and analyze empirical knowledge about burnout syndrome in competitive swimmers under 18 years of age. Methods: This work was created in the form of a review study. Specifically, the purpose was to get as close as possible to the design of the scoping review. The search for relevant sources was carried out on the basis of predetermined criteria in the Scopus and Web of Science databases, and the Google Scholar search engine was also used as a complement. Results: There were found 7 relevant articles where 5 of them dealt with factors related to the development of burnout in young swimmers, one included a comparison of burnout scores between swimmers and volleyball players, and one article examined the psychometric properties of the Athlete Burnout Questionnaire adapted for children under 13 years of age. The results that stem from the analysis of these articles in most cases confirmed the hypotheses regarding the burnout syndrome in athletes, however, despite the assumption, a positive relationship between early specialization and the development of burnout was not proven. Keywords: syndrome, burnout, maladaptive, swimming, youth, dropout

The impact of Covid-19 pandemy on the sport motivation in para swimmers
Míčková, Dominika ; Daďová, Klára (advisor) ; Kotlík, Kamil (referee)
Title: The impact of Covid-19 pandemy on the sport motivation in para swimmers Objectives: The aim of the study is to search for the existence of changes in the level of sport motivation in a group of para swimmers as a result of the pandemic crisis in the Czech Republic. Methods: The object of the research is to evaluate the data of a repeatedly submitted standardised Sport Motivation Scale questionnaire to a research cohort of 22 disabled para swimmers aged 19 to 48 years (as of 2021). Then a comparison of this assessment with the responses obtained through a structured interview conducted at the end of the research survey in August 2021 has been developed. Graphical processing and an appropriate form of t-test is used to investigate differences in motivation levels. Results: Although the statistical analysis of the data of the whole group did not show a significant difference between the two studied time periods, nor between men and women, a change in the level of intrinsic motivation to know was observed in the group of men studied separately. Furthermore, a correlation of intrinsic motivation to experience with age was found. When comparing these results with a set of descriptions of the respondent's subjective feelings, the answers to the scientific research questions are not entirely clear....
Comparing the physical prerequisites of competitive swimmers, relative to the preferences of swimming disciplines.
Hanus, Tomáš ; Chvostek, Lukáš (advisor) ; Suchý, Jiří (referee)
Title: Comparing the physical prerequisites of competitive swimmers relative to the preferences of swimming disciplines. Objective: The objective of this bachelor thesis is to create a pilot study in which selected physical and anthropometric parameters of junior swimmers (16 to 18 years old) will be measured and compared. We compare short and middle distance swimmers against long distance swimmers. Methods: The research of this pilot study was carried out under the supervision of the supervisor and with the help of special devices lent by the Department of Physical Education. Summary tables and graphs were used for clear interpretation and comparison of results. Results: The measurement results show that endurance swimmers have an average of 2-3 % more body fat than sprinters. Swimmers focusing on short and medium distances, on the other hand, have an average of less than 1 % higher water-free ATH. This result was demonstrated in both girls and boys. The results of the spirometry measurements showed that the sprinters achieved a higher maximum expiratory velocity compared to the endurance runners. Vital lung capacity did not confirm any regularity of results. In this case, the boys were the better sprinters, while the girls, on the contrary, were the endurance athletes. The results were compared...
Comparison of compulsory swimming courses with varying periods of lesson repetition in terms of their resulting impact on the swimming level of young school- age students in catchment area schools in Jablonec nad Nisou
Heidrichová, Anna ; Pádivý, Martin (advisor) ; Chvostek, Lukáš (referee)
The aim of my master thesis is to compare the entry and exit swimming level of younger school-age children in the context of compulsory swimming lessons at the first level of primary school. The essential criterion for comparing the children's tested skills will be whether they receive swimming lessons in the form of intensive courses or in a schedule of one visit to a swimming facility per week. Swimming skills will be monitored for children in second and third grades, both boys and girls. The final distance swum by the children will then be categorised according to both the official diagnostic tables proposed by Čechovská and unofficial tables with more detailed intervals used internally by the swimming school where the research was conducted. In the theoretical part, the origins of swimming and its historical development in the world and in the Czech Republic are first mentioned, with an overlap to the current form of swimming, especially in the context of swimming education. Compulsory swimming education for children of younger school age, its financing, and its organisation are other topics of the theoretical part. In addition, swimming instruction as a pedagogical process is described from the point of view of didactics. The basic swimming skills and the evaluation of the achieved swimming...
