Supported employment as a option of solution of handicapped people participation at the labour market

Diploma thesis "Supported employment as a option of solution of handicapped people participation at the labour market " attend to supported employment. It is the service, which provide assistance for handicapped people in participation at the open labour market among people without disability. Such employment, in contrast to sheltered employment, offer a possibility to do a meaningful work, space for self-fulfillment, salary and prevent handicapped people from social exclusion. Supported employment provides benefits for disabled people, for their families and also for employers. In the Czech republic is supported employment quite a new service, which is related to some problems. For example financing and absence of skilled workers at agencies for supported employment. Solving problems of the Czech concept of supported employment can be found in systems of supported employment in some developed European country, where is supported employment quite wide-spread, such as Norway. Future trend is oriented to extension of this service and then it will be more available for all of expectants. The main goal is also in increase of meaning about supported employment in society and establishes supported employment as a part of Czech legislation.
Social inclusion and employment of adults with Asperger syndrome

The topic of this work is "Social inclusion and employment of adults with Asperger syndrome". The thesis aims to present the specifics of social inclusion and employment of adults with Asperger syndrome. In the theoretical part of the work, a reader is acquainted with the term Asperger syndrome, with the development of expert terminology, symptoms, diagnosis and prevalence. Then a reader is acquainted with the social position of adults with this syndrome, specifically with a person with Asperger syndrome in the role of a friend, a partner and a parent. Subsequently, the work deals with the employment of adults with Asperger syndrome. The theoretical part describes training and positive work characteristics of these people, but also difficulties that these people may have in the work process. The conclusion of the theoretical part outlines supported employment of the people with Asperger syndrome, sheltered workshops and occupational rehabilitation. The practical part of this work contains an interpretation of the quantitative research, which was conducted by means of an online questionnaire survey. Title: Occupational Therapy Assessment of People with Guillain-Barré Syndrome in Productive Age Focusing on Possibilities of their Employment Abstract: Guillain-Barré syndrome is an acute inflammatory neuropathy affecting the peripheral nerves. Its most common symptoms are symmetrical weakness, myalgia, paraesthesia or dysesthesia, areflexia, and temporary quadruplegia. The syndrome starts affecting lower limbs. It progresses in the cranial direction which may lead to ventilation insufficiency and autonomic dysfunctions. It may even affect ability to work of people in productive age. Occupational therapists may specifically target the employment opportunities of people with Guillain-Barré syndrome and support them in returning to work as part of occupational therapy interventions conducted in health and social care institutions or prevocational assessment centers. Mapping Work of Occupational Therapists in Prevocational Assessment Centers in the Czech Republic

Prevocational assessment is a complex functional assessment of psychosensomotor potential of a person with disability. Prevocational assessment can be part of a vocational rehabilitation provided by the Czech Labour Office as a form of consulting services. Nowadays, thirteen prevocational assessment centres in different regions of the Czech Republic offer this service. Prevocational assessments are made by an interprofessional team. Occupational therapist, as an essential member of this team, examines and tests client's independency during the prevocational assessment. Occupational therapist along with other members of interprofessional team analyses the work potential of a person with disability. Then, based on a complex functional assessment of a person with disability, the final report is written. This report contains description of skills and abilities which can be used by a person with disability while finding, getting and holding a position on the labour market. This report also contains a recommendation for the Czech Labour Office on how to increase client's chances to get a job. Employment of People with Schizophrenia

This diploma thesis is focused on employment of people with schizophrenia. The main objectives were set up as follows: what are the job opportunities for people with schizophrenia and further explore the experience of people with schizophrenia with employment or unemployment. The diploma thesis consists of theoretical and research part. The theoretical part is divided into six subchapters which not only specify schizophrenia and the issues associated with this disease but are also focused more closely on the employment of schizophrenic people and the history and current status of individuals with schizophrenia and also the Fokus organization. In the empirical part are analysed and processed research results. The qualitative research undertaken for the purpose of this thesis was realized in two phases. In the first phase there was a pre-research and then the research itself. For achievement of the necessary data and information, a qualitative analysis was chosen, which was carried out by the method of questioning using the technique of narrative interview. All interviews were recorded with permission of the communication partners and then rewritten. The obtained data were analyzed in Atlas.ti using open coding. The research sample of communication partners was obtained using snowball sampling. The sample consisted of six clients diagnosed with schizophrenia from the non-profit organization Fokus Tábor. Also, two social workers from the Fokus Tábor organization were questioned for gaining more detailed information. The qualitative research brought finding that employment opportunities are varied depending on individual needs, abilities and health of individuals. Furthermore, it was found that work is positively perceived by persons with schizophrenia, as work helps them primarily in their mental and physical condition. Last but not least, the experience of communication partners with employment or unemployment was examined. These experience according to the information obtained are positive mainly because of the helpfulness of employers. This diploma thesis can be a source of information for both general and professional public. The obtained results can further serve as a feedback to the employees of Fokus Tábor organization and it is also possible to use the work as a potential basis for further investigation.
Work Rehabilitation of People with health Disability provided by the Labour Office of the Czech Republic in Practice

This thesis aims to explore a work rehabilitation provided by Labour Office of the Czech Republic. It examines the ways in which the work rehabilitation is currently being implemented. Furthermore, it analyses what is the course, benefit and outcome of individual plans. Ultimately, it identifies possible problems and barriers that make it difficult for disabled individuals to be included in the labour market. The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts. The first theoretical part deals with the characteristics of the disability itself and its classification. Moreover, it describes the importance of work for people with disabilities and their rights. Furthermore, it focuses on the work of the Labour Offices in the area of employment, with the greatest focus on work rehabilitation. The second part identifies the processes and results of the research. A qualitative strategy, particularly semi-structured interviews, were used as a research method in order to collect the relevant information. This was carried out at two selected regional offices of the Labour Offices in the South Bohemian Region. Further interviews were conducted with individual work rehabilitation participants. The research group represented a total of 9 people, of which 3 were employees of the Labour Office and 6 people who were provided with work rehabilitation. The responses of interview respondents have been thoroughly studied, processed and subsequently systematically evaluated. The expected benefit of the work could be some kind of feedback to Labour Offices. It could help to raise awareness among the general public and, last but not least as a source of information for people interested in work rehabilitation.
The use of co-ordinated rehabilitation concept in retirement home

This diploma thesis deals with co-ordinated rehabilitation and its use in retirement home specifically in the Center of social services Staroměstská in České Budějovice. It is important to use a co-ordinated rehabilitation concept for achievement of high service quality which means better life quality for pensioners. Co-operation within multidisciplinary team is essential during comprehensive rehabilitation for all persons. The goal of this diploma thesis was to found out how retirement home uses individual components of co-ordinated rehabilitation concept. The principal research question was: How much are employees of retirement home informed about co-ordinated rehabilitation concept? For research was chosen retirement home in the Center of social services Staroměstská in České Budějovice. There were eight employees of this institution participated in the research. It was used method of questioning and half-structured interview technique. Retirement home in the Center of social services Staroměstská uses all aspects of co-ordinated rehabilitation concept. Particularly they utilize medical rehabilitation and social rehabilitation. Most of workers is well-informed about co-ordinated rehabilitation concept. Some of them do not know certain terms. However after explaining of these terms they prove good knowledge of this issue. The employees have satisfactory overview not only about rehabilitation which is directly their scope of working activity but also about other components of co-ordinated rehabilitation. The workers are perfectly informed about medical rehabilitation. They are also mostly satisfied with co-operation in multidisciplinary team. This kind of co-operation takes place at any time of a need or during the meetings or at individual scheduling. The results of this diploma thesis may help to retirement home in the Center of social services Staroměstská in České Budějovice to evaluate the usage of co-ordinated rehabilitation during elderly care. It might also show the measure of co-operation of multidisciplinary team members. This diploma thesis may help to anybody who is interested in specific retirement home or in co-ordinated rehabilitation in general.
The Labour Market Assertion of Persons with Physical Disability

The thesis deals with the application of persons with disabilities in the labor market. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the notion of disability and classification of body defects. Explains the concept of labor market, human capital and protected labor market. Also deals with the instruments to support the employment of people with disabilities and related legislation on this matter. Further focuses on barriers in the access of persons with disabilities on the labor market. The aim of the practical part of the reply to the main research question: what kinds of barriers are faced by persons with disabilities in finding employment on the open labor market? To answer that question the qualitative research was done using semi-structured interviews with clients Asistence o.p.s.
The Importance of the Social Therapeutic Workshop for Integrating Clients in their Future Activity in the Sheltered Workshop

This Bachelor´s thesis deals with the importance of the social therapeutic workshop for integrating clients in their future activity in the sheltered workshop (sheltered workplace). The main objective is to map necessary work skills of clients for their transfer to the sheltered workshop (sheltered workplace). The thesis consists of the theoretical part, which contains literary information, and the research part where the established objectives are being evaluated. The chapter named "Current State" is focussed on the target group of persons in the social therapeutic workshop and the sheltered workshop (sheltered workplace), and further there is mentioned the importance of work and self-fulfilment for people with the health handicap. There is described the concept of social services, their characteristics and the proper definition of the social rehabilitation and the social therapeutic workshop. Next chapter deals with the work rehabilitation directed at the sheltered workshop (sheltered workplace). And consecutively, the attention is aimed at the social worker and workers in the sphere of social services. The last chapter is focussed on the family in the context of their care for the child with the health handicap from the point of view of the family, and the cooperation with them from the point of view of professional workers. The research part established the following objective: To identify necessary work habits of clients in the process of the social rehabilitation which they obtain in the social therapeutic workshop. The main research question "What are the necessary work skills of clients for their transfer to the activity in the sheltered workshop?" was further divided into 5 partial research questions. The qualitative research strategy was used for obtaining information. Data were collected by means of the questionnaire, in particular the technique of the semistructured interview. The research sample was made up with the method of the intentional (purpose) selection which defined particular criteria for integration in the research sample. There were made up two research samples involving clients of the social therapeutic workshop and professional leading workers of the social therapeutic workshop and the sheltered workshop (sheltered workplace). The obtained information was processed with the method of coding and consequent categorization. The results are mentioned in the subheads corresponding with the partial research questions. The research shows that clients come to the social therapeutic workshop in order to use their time meaningfully and to train new skills which they can use both at work and in their daily life. The big motivation is also the team and related social integration. The family represents irreplaceable role which includes support in everyday activities and the feeling of security. The professional leading workers consider the social therapeutic workshop to be the very important first stage of the job. They see the advantage of the social therapeutic workshop in providing possibility to map knowledge and skills of individuals who try to move from the social service to the sheltered workshop.
