Votlučková, Kristýna ; Křemen, Pavel (advisor) ; Lebedová, Veronika (referee)
The bachelor's thesis Comparison of the original sound and Czech dubbing in the TV series Friends deals with the analysis of differences in the original sound and in the dubbing of the American TV series Friends. The Friends series is an American sitcom that aired on NBC from September 22, 1994 to May 6, 2004. The series focuses on the lives of six friends between the ages of 20 and 30 who live in Manhattan, New York City. During the ten years of broadcasting, the show received many awards and became one of the most popular television shows in history. The series has thus become a phenomenon that still affects and entertains viewers around the world. In the Czech Republic, a dubbed version of the TV show began broadcasting on Ceska televize in 1996. The Czech dubbing of the series was directed by Ales Sobotka, led by the creative group of Alena Polednakova and Vladimir Tisnovsky. There are many arguments for and against dubbing or subtitling TV shows. What determines dubbing or subtitling, as the main method of television translation in a country, is influenced by a complex number of factors, such as price, availability of relevant technology, literacy level etc. The overall meaning and context may therefore be quite different from the original version if the translation is dubbed or subtitled. Donátová, Tereza ; Kubátová, Hana (advisor) ; Šmidrkal, Václav (referee)
This thesis focuses on the story of Anne Frank, her friends and family and how they were reported to the authorities, which resulted in their imprisonment in concentration camps and eventually death. The thesis includes an analysis and summary of information on possible traitors. In the thesis introduction, I am presenting information about police inspection of the Frank's family and friend's case, which was done in several stages. The paper is divided into three parts. The intention of the first part is to explain the situation in the Netherlands during the World War II., for both Jewish and non-Jewish citizens. There are informations about the low survival rate of the Jews in the Netherlands and I am also posing a question if in this case we can speak of guilt or innocence of the entire Dutch nation at that time. In the second part, we will find details about Anne Frank's family, about their life in Germany and their escape to the Netherlands, about their life before the war and during the war, first free and later in hiding. The third part contains information about possible traitors, theories that have arisen around these names and the most recent point of view on those historical events. In the thesis conclusion, I am summarizing the information from several authors and I am considering the...
Upbringing of an only child
Fidlerová, Stanislava ; Komárková, Tereza (advisor) ; Lorenzová, Jitka (referee)
The thesis deals with the issue of singletons. Its main question is directed to the childhood of singletons and its importance for the whole life of a human. It wonders whether the childhood of singletons affects humans in adulthood, or in which areas and which way. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and part of the research. In the first part basic terms are defined which constitute the basis for the second part of the work. The research part of the work is more extensive and forms the core of the thesis. It is a qualitative research. Biographical design, specifically the realistic biography, has been used as the most appropriate research plan. First, three interviews were made and processed - depth probes of the respondents who grew up as the singletons. The analysis of the probes divided the interview into three stages: childhood upbringing, the upbringing of their own children and self-education. After processing the individual parts of the research, the final synthesis revealed that the childhood of the respondents and the fact of being an only child had a significant impact on their overall life. It affected their childhood and also the following life stages. The biggest deficit of the singletons was in socialization, predominantly in the area of interpersonal relations and...

Characteristics of inter-individual relationship (friend vs. rival) in red deer and its effect on agonistic behavior and endocrinological feedback
Peterka, Tomáš ; Bartoš, Luděk (advisor) ; Fuchs, Roman (referee)
Red deer males aggregate during the period of antler growth to bachelor groups. Social position - Rank - is unstable in these groups. Previous experiments revealed that rank modulated by agonistic behaviour influence the antler growth and antler cycle timing. Antlers are the secondary sexual characteristics of the deer family and one of the fastest growing tissue in vertebrate taxa. Their development is modulated by androgenic hormone, testosterone. In our experiment, we observed agonistic behaviour of 19 males. They were equipped with GPS collar and observation lasted for two hours in the evening an in the morning, once or twice a week from the end of May to the end of August. Deer were handled regularly for blood samples and downloading the telemetrical data from collars. Base on a statistical analysis we found that in our bachelor group 13 stags kept similar interindividual distances which did not exceed the 22 metres level. These stags - the closest associates - differed in the sum of agonistic interactions. Those who reached 8 or less interactions were called Friends, while subgroup of the others reaching much more interactions were classified as Rivals. We found that number of interactions depended on average distance among males in groups (Friends and Rivals). Rivals with increasing distance...
How a drogue ex-user see a period of his addiction
Hronková, Veronika ; Kubišová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Hauser, Michael (referee)
Subject: How a drogue ex-user see a period of his addiction. Abstract: The work focus on the actual situation of ex-users. These people were fighting with an addiction and now they are a part of the majority society. The qualitative research, inspired by a grounded theory, try to approach their point of view. What they think about their past and how do they see their relations with a family, friends and a vicinage. Not just in that period but nowadays as well. Relationships with home-folks are stigmatized by a degree of drug addiction. The smaller addiction the smaller losses. Once a drug user is falling down into the drug trap, the losses depend on how deep he will fall. On the bottom there are no friends, no family, just nothing. Some of the drug users do not fall to the bottom, they do their decision earlier. We call that decision a break point ( a moment when they decide to abstain). A break point comes individually and it is connected to an "interior border" of each person. Anyway, it is a moment, when an individual concerned decide to live a different way. It is a very intense moment and very fundamental for a abstinence success. We have used an interview to study not just this phenomenon. During the interview we tried to find out how a life looks with and without an addiction. Key words: addiction,...
