European Union energy dependency in the context of its trade policy
Reginevich, Yuliya ; Hnát, Pavel (advisor) ; Bič, Josef (referee)
The thesis is about energy dependency of the European Union. Aim of the work is to analyze the situation of the energy relations of European Union and regions, which are the main energy suppliers from the trade policy point of view. Thesis is aimed at characterizing trade instruments used in trade with natural resources. EU - North Africa relations are studied in more detailed way as a concrete example of energy relations.
Implementation of the EU energy policy in relation to the relations with the Russian Federation
Halasová, Eliška ; Bič, Josef (advisor) ; Sudliankou, Aliaksandr (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of energy policy of the European Union and its implementation. The first chapter outlines the development of this policy. The second chapter concentrates on energy dependence and replies the question how the EU ensures its energy sources. The last chapter summarizes the EU relations with the Russian Federation in energy sector, the energy dependence, the conflicts in these relations and the possibilities of solving the problem of the energy dependence.
The outlook on natural gas sources diversification in the European Union
Kosková, Iva ; Vondrušková, Barbora (advisor) ; Němcová, Ingeborg (referee)
Natural gas occupies an indispensable place in the European Union energy mix. Nevertheless it is important to optimize energy dependence of the EU on the Russian Federation, which is the key supplier of this commodity for the European market. One of the main ways how to decrease this dependence and consequently increase energy safety of the EU is the natural gas sources diversification and diversification of its transport routes. The diversification effort includes not only the building of new gas pipelines but also a growing importance of the liquefied natural gas (LNG), which currently brings brand new principles to the natural gas market. Even though it is obvious that the map of the European natural gas infrastructure is going to change in the future, it is necessary to bear in mind that the interdependence between Russia and the EU is going to maintain a significant influence on the energy policy of both parties.
EU-Russia: mutual energy relations
Bezrodná, Ksenija ; Vošta, Milan (advisor) ; Kašpar, Václav (referee)
Depleting fossil fuel reserves in EU and energy consumption growth lead to the fact that the European Union is becoming increasingly dependent on energy imports. The most important energy partner of the EU is Russia which delivers the biggest volumes of oil and natural gas to european countries. High rate of energy dependency on Russia is - especially in the context of gas crisis - perceived as a threat to EU energy security and it is necessary to deal with it immediately. The aims of the European Union policy on energy are to achieve higher territorial diversification of fossil fuel suppliers and transit countries and diversification of the EU energy mix, to promote renewable forms of energy and to establish common energy market to ensure solidarity among EU member states. European Union also should learn how to act as "one actor" and "one voice" on energy relations with Russia because that could help to ensure better negotiation position and to become a sovereign partner in mutual energy relations with Russia.
The dependence of Chinese and Indian economy on mineral and energy imports
Bayerová, Zuzana ; Kašpar, Václav (advisor) ; Vošta, Milan (referee)
The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyze People's Republic of China and India from the point of view of their mineral and energy dependence, where mineral means the necessity to import raw materials for the industry, while energy corresponds to imports of energy resources, namely coal, oil and natural gas. The secondary aim is so called 3C-Analysis (Comparison, Competition, Cooperation), which compares these two economies and evaluates their mutual relationships. The thesis is divided into three main parts - China, India, 3C-Analysis. The subchapters focuse on partial analysis, which are the definition of strategic minerals based on the key industrial branches, the determination of causes of mineral resources dependence and problems outcoming from current structure of energy imports, as well as the analysis and evaluation of the steps leading to the dependence elimination. The text also contains information about the situation in industrial and energy sector of both countries and basic data of raw materials production, reserves, consumption and imports.
The system of electronic personal dosimetry
PETROVÁ, Irena
The thesis deals with the issue of operative dosimetry, to be specific, with personal dosimetry. The objective of the thesis is to compare several parameters, such as the dose, direction and energy dependence, in two types of electronic dosimeters made by the firm Siemens (type EPD1) and by the firm MGP Instruments (type DMC 2000XB). In the first section of my thesis the personal monitoring and related data such as quantities used to monitor external irradiation are introduced. In the next section the operative monitoring, focused mainly on electronic but also on thermoluminescent and radiophotoluminescent dosimetry, is described. The results of the irradiation (exposure) of electronic personal dosimeters of types EPD1 and DMC 2000XB are included in the thesis and the measured values are statistically processed. The dose, direction and energy dependence of both types of these dosimeters is evaluated and put into diagrams.
Trade relations between the EU and the Russian Federation
Lukášová, Helena ; Štěrbová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Bolotov, Ilya (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to analyze the trade relations between the EU and the Russian Federation in the field of trade in goods, to briefly describe the economic situation and cooperation in the trade policy issues, and to indicate future potential of mutual exchange within the context of the Russian market perspective and the EU dependence on Russian energy sources.
Energetics in the EU: Present Trends
Procházková, Lenka ; Vošta, Milan (advisor) ; Kašpar, Václav (referee)
The first chapter of the diploma thesis describes Energy policy of the European Union, especially its development, present state and its goals. This chapter also contains information about development of the single energy market. The second part of the thesis analyses oil and natural gas import dependence of the whole European Union and its Member States as well. It shows its rate and also the structure of suppliers, moreover, it describes total production, consumption and reserves of these fosil fuels. The third chapter outlines the ways how to reduce the import dependence. The last part familiarises readers with the main initiatives of the European Union in the field of environmental protection.
Business relations between European Union and Russian Federation
Polata, Tomáš ; Petříček, Václav (advisor) ; Čajka, Radek (referee)
This bachelor thesis is devided into three parts. First part concernes about business relations between European Union as a whole and Russian Federation. It concernes about historical development of their relations, their relations in present, that result from this development, mutual investments and conflicts between them, first of all about these, that are connected with trade barriers and supplies of raw materials from Russia to European Union. Second part of the thesis is focused on business relations between choosen members of European Union and Russia. These choosen members are Germany, Italy and Poland. Third part describes business relations between Czech Republic and Russian Federation, concretely their development, mutual investmenst and problems they have to face. At the end of the thesis there is a brief view of future of business relation between these two units.
Problems of oil supply from the Russian Federation to the European Union.
Shtanko, Elizaveta ; Plchová, Božena (advisor) ; Korandová, Jiřina (referee)
The essence of my thesis implicates the significance of oil industry in foreign economic relations of the Russian Federation and the European Union, and also reinsurance of international energy security. As it is about global markets and well notable business partners, each of them hold undeniably eminent positions in the system of foreign relations of both countries, the problem of supply of energy resources, specifically the oil from the Russian Federation to the European Union, is very much actual and has an extensive significance for both Russian and Global economies. The energy problem is critical for the whole world community. It is clear, that short-term global product deficit of oil causes uncontrolled growth of prices, and slowdown of global economy. The international energy security doesn't only consist in depletion of oil reserves, but also in prevention of regional crisis and political instability in countries producing oil, due to scarcity of free production capacity against fast growing global demand for oil.
