Customs of Muslim Family in the Czech Republic

The thesis "Customs of Muslim family in Czech Republic" is focused on the traditions and customs of Muslim family from the point of view of young Muslims who live in the Czech Republic, concretely in Prague. In the opening chapters islam, its origin and five principles of Islamic religion are introduced. Family, marriage, Muslim traditions, customs, feasts, ceremonies, celebrations and nourishment are emphasised in the following chapters. In the conclusion of the theoretical part, history od Islam and Muslims in Europe and Bohemian countries is mentioned and Muslim congregation and Islamic nadation in Prague are introduced as well. Second part of the thesis consists of empirical research. Methods and aims of the research are defined. Respondents and the analysis of data are described as well. Observance of Traditions and Customs in Bohemia and in Moravia

The dissertation Observance of traditions and customs in Bohemia and in Moravia focuses on issues of Czech and Moravian traditions, customs and holidays, namely on two important holidays Easter and Christmas. These two holidays are the most significant events of ecclesiastical year but they are favourite as well among inhabitants of the Czech Republic, in particular Christmas. Various customs and traditions are handed down from generation to generation and they occupy a significant position in people's lives. In the introduction the terms that are important for this work are explained as well as the significance of traditions and customs for culture, current situation of culture is mentioned as well. This work presents description of the two mentioned holidays in the context of Czech culture. In the second part of this work you can find comparison of selected elements with regard to particular Czech and Moravian customs. Apart from presenting of presented Easter and Christmas customs and their comparison, the work aims to define tendencies which occured and name these tendencies. In the conclusion, the findings about differences between Czech and Moravian customs are summarized and defined, the prognosis about future development of observing customs is mentioned as well. From the point of view of our ancestors values the work is going to deal with the style of life with focusing on the intepersonal relationship values, where dating, the course of weddings and following the traditions and customs connected with it is going to be elaborated in village Milešov nad Vltavou. This bachelor thesis is focused on ethnographic region of the Czech Republic - Moravian Slovakia. The aim is to determine the importance of respecting traditions and folklore for tourism, and how knowledgeable the citizens of the Czech Republic are about Moravian Slovakia and its customs. The theoretical part deals with basic tourism terms, characteristics of tourism in the Czech Republic and with cultural heritage. The analytical part defines the researched area and analyses its features suitable for tourism. Crux of the thesis is an evaluation of author's own survey and suggestions for the future.

Kostelní Radouň - South Bohemian Village: Traditional and Contemporary Family and Community Rituals

The thesis is devoted to village society. The main theme of the work is the issue of annual customs and traditions, amateur sports and cultural associations and activities, their tradition and importance for the South Bohemian village Kostelní Radouň. The main aim is to map the current state of the annual customs and rituals and other collective activities. Further attention is paid to their role and function in social and cultural life of the village inhabitants. The work is divided into several chapters, with the introducory chapters is devoted to the development of interest in traditional folk culture within the study area and the changes in village society in the second half of the 20th century, which affected the annual customs and habits. The next chapter describes the atmosphere of the village and its facilities. The following chapters deal with local associations and organizations, which are the main organizers of collective entertainment. Another chapter describes the annual traditions and customs, their traditional form and the current state in the village Kostelní Radouň. (in English): The focus of this thesis is to examine Korean customs, manners and etiquette within the life cycle. The aim of this work is not to describe the various rituals from either anthropological or sociological perspective, but to overview customs, rituals and social etiquette rules which that accompany these rituals. The work is divided into four main chapters, including a general description of Korean society, childbirths, wedding ceremonies and finally death and ancestor worship.
