Využití fytoterapie v chovu koní
HAVLÍKOVÁ, Natálie
The aim of this bachelor thesis was to conduct research on phytotherapy and herbs used in horse breeding and internal parasites and their developmental stages. Breed-ers are increasingly paying attention to the health care of horses, and for that reason they tend to use unconventional medicine, such as herbs. The research focused on monitoring the effectiveness of a herbal mixture by WILD HERBS s.r.o. which supports against internal parasites, and recommenda-tions for the use of herbs in horse breeding. Monitoring took place on a farm in Mažice, where horses received a mixture fed in several stages by a feeding machine. After feeding the mixture, a coprological examination followed. Large and small strongyles, horse roundworm and horse tapeworm were found in the monitored farm. A clear indication of the effectiveness of the mixture when fed was a signifi-cant reduction in EPG values compared to previous years, which was also the goal. The EPG value in 2022 was 273 which is a significant decrease compared to the previous year of 2021 when the average EPG value was 634. The difference in EPG values between seasons was not significant. The value is rather determined by the current weather or the arrival of a new horse in the herd and the resistance of indi-viduals to the infection. The mixture had a very favorable effect on most horses, but at some point, a few individuals had higher EPG values, which could have been de-termined by several other factors. The steps needed to support a partially parasite-free breeding include collecting faeces, dragging pastures and monitoring the level of parasitic infection, giving suitable herbal mixtures and using anthelmintics in case of heavy infection.
The influence of share of selected legumes and herbs on senzoric quality of conserved biomass
ŘÍHA, Patrik
The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the quality of preserved biomass in dependence on the composition of samples by sensory evaluation of individual quality indicators of grass silage. The silage of selected types of clovers, herbs was evaluated and compared with a sample of silage from maize. The main indicators included color, fragrance, moldy and rotting, consistency and the last point was counted the amount of dry matter in silage. These indicators were monitored on 33 samples of silage coming from the Vysočina Region and the Třebíč District. After the end of the preservation the indicators were scored and the points were added up. After adding the points, the individual samples were evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. Furthermore, the work focuses on the distribution of fodder in terms of carbohydrates and nitrogen substances, factors affecting forage quality, preservation of forage by silage, its processing technology and last but not least, the use of preservatives and their importance. Botanical images of selected meadows were also taken and the coverage of the evaluated species of clover and herbs as well as agrobotanical groups was determined.

Modern herbs in the food industry
Adamczyková, Michaela ; Řezáčová, Veronika (referee) ; Vítová, Eva (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of volatile (aromatic) compounds of Plectranthus spp. and Echinacea purpurea. The theoretical part focuses on the general characteristics of the above mentioned herbs, the content of their bioactive and volatile compounds, and on their importance as well as on their potential use in the food industry. Using the HS-SPME-GC-MS method, the volatile compounds of the herbs and extracts prepared from them were identified and quantified in the experimental part. A total of 11 volatile compounds were found in all the samples. The most frequent one in the sample of a fresh Plectranthus was 3-carene (13,78%) as well as in the sample of dried Plectranthus (14,85%). However, in the Plectranthus extract it was -selinene (17,84%). As for Echinacea, it is germacrene D (18,64%) in the sample of a fresh one, camphor (58,46%) in the one of dried Echinacea and -copaene (20,42%) in its extract.
Cosmetics preparations against acne
Měšťánková, Zuzana ; Skoumalová, Petra (referee) ; Němcová, Andrea (advisor)
Hemp is a plant containing a number of active substances that can be used in cosmetics and pharmacy. The subject of this bachelor thesis is the multiplication of active substances by mixing cannabis with herbs that have anti-inflammatory effects. The theoretical part contains a description of the determined antioxidants and cannabinoids. The experimental part focuses on measuring the content of these substances in extracts created from the dry parts of herbs and hemp variety Ferimon. The work is also focused on the preparation of a cream containing cannabis and herbal extracts, which are aimed at inhibiting the formation of acne. The antimicrobial effect of creams and extracts was investigated on bacteria Propionibacterium acnes and Micrococcus luteus. The analysis of the extracts shows that the largest amount of active substances contained a mixture of mountain arnica and hemp, which also showed a good antimicrobial effect against both types of bacteria. The creams showed a low inhibitory effect due to the low content of active substances.

The impact of invasive plants on bird communities
Neubergová, Kristýna ; Reif, Jiří (advisor) ; Hanzelka, Jan (referee)
Invasive plants are among the major factors participating on the threat to biodiverzity. Birds are one of the Gross of organism endangered by this factor. However, birds provide a variety of ecological services and are often used as indicators of the state of enviroment in broker scale of landscape. Several researches assessing impal of invasive plants on ecosystem biodiverzity have been done, but none of them targeted bird communities specifically. Objective of this paper will be to anter free question regarding: (i) comparison of impacts of invasive woody plants and plants; (ii) comparison of impacts by type of enviroment in which the inavasive plant expanded (forest, grasses, island, wetlands); (iii) geographical area sof invasion. (i) The results indicie that from the perspective of bird communities, the negative impact of woody plants and plants was basically identical (76% for woody plants, 74% for plants). (ii) Comparison of impacts by type of enviroment in which the invasive plant expanded proved that the most severe negative impal of invasive plants was in islands biomes (100%), wetlands (91%), grassy biomes (87%). The lest severe impal was in forest biomes (63%). The results for island biomes was quite expected, as this biome is the most susceptible to disbalance of ecosystem. (iii)...
