The impact of the Mindful camp outdoor course on conscious attention

Title: The impact of the Mindful camp outdoor course on conscious attention Objectives: To investigate the short- and long-term impact the Mindful camp outdoor course had on participants' conscious attention. Methods: This thesis uses qualitative research in the form of semi-structured interviews conducted with five anonymous adult participants of the Mindful camp outdoor course held 13-17 July 2022. The interviews were conducted before the camp, just after the camp, and five months after the camp. An open coding method was used to analyze and evaluate respondent's statements. Results: The three and half days long Mindful camp outdoor course had a positive short-term impact on the conscious attention of all five respondents. Only two of the five respondents felt a long-term impact on mindful attention five months after the camp. The other two were unable to assess the impact, and one respondent dismissed it completely. However, the outdoor environment was rated by all five respondents as very helpful and supportive of the process for practicing mindfulness and developing conscious attention, despite the perceived higher demands of the outdoor environment compared to the indoor environment. Title: Outdoor Activities for Children from Socially Disadvantaged Environments Objectives: The objective of this bachelor's thesis was to propose a set of outdoor games and activities suitable for children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. Methods: A descriptive-analytical approach was employed, specifically involving content analysis of texts related to the topic of social disadvantage and outdoor games. The gathered information was carefully organized and systematically processed to create a clear and concise summary. Results: A compilation of outdoor games for children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. Conclusions: The suggested collection of games can serve as a methodological guide for organizers of outdoor programs tailored for children and youth from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. Outdoor activity and sports courses at secondary schools in the Příbram region

Title: Outdoor activity and sports courses at secondary schools in the Příbram region. Objectives: The aim of the diploma thesis was to map the offer of outdoor activities and sports courses at secondary schools in the Příbram region. Methods: The research group consisted of 11 state secondary schools located in the Příbram district. For this research, we chose the method of a questionnaire, which was sent to secondary school principals via electronic communication. Some schools were visited personally. The questionnaire consisted of 21 questions. The obtained data were evaluated using basic statistical methods and interpreted using graphs. Results: All of the interviewed secondary schools organize sports courses for their students in a natural environment. The most frequently organized course is the Adaptation Course, which is organized by all schools approached. The second most frequently organized course is a Ski Course - found in 90.9% of the surveyed schools. Of the courses offered in the questionnaire, 55% of schools answered that students are most interested in the Adaptation Course. In 27% of schools, the greatest interest is in the Boating Course and in 18% in the Skiing Course. Title: Study possibilities and job opportunities in outdoor activities in USA Objectives: The object of this thesis is to research and describe study possibilities at American universities and job opportunities in outdoor activities in USA. Methods: This thesis is literature review and analyses printed sources available related to researched topic and internet websites containing current information in researched subject. Also, it was used own experiences of the thesis author. The primary source of information were publications from UK FTVS library, thesis written under the supervision of the experts at outdoor sports department at UK FTVS and thesis from other Czech universities teaching outdoor activities. Further important source was specialized publications, especially articles from Gymnasion magazine, next, articles from EBSCO databases. During the research of USA universities offering outdoor activities courses, educational system, scholarships, job opportunities, transfer and visa options, were used also internet sources for topicality reason and own experience. Title: Comparison of Outdoor Education at Czech and Norwegian Universities Goals: The main goal is to compare outdoor education at Czech and Norwegian universities. Method: We used a retrieval method of internet and literature sources of study programmes at certain universities and we have composed and sumarized a survey, which had been sent to students of researched schools. Influence of outdoor activities on interpersonal relationships in a peer group from institutional care

Title: Influence of outdoor activities on interpersonal relationships in a peer group in the environment ofinstitutional care. Aim of the thesis: The aim of this work is to find out whether outdoor activities have an effect on relationships in the group of the youth who live in the conditions of institutional care. Research methodology: We have used the Sociometric questionnaire B3-U. In the experimental group there are 11 adolescents from the orphanege in Jablonec nad Nisou. In the control group there are 10 children and adolescents from the orphanege in Semily. Children's age ranged from 8 to 15. Results and conclusions: The results of the research showed that the most excluded person in the group found new relationship in the group. Results regarding the most exluded people in the group were very positive. After our intervention the least favorite person recieved about half less of the negative voices. In the group hierarchy the distance among members of the group grew smaller. Only results of feelings friendship and confidence in the group were after the intervention lower. Name: Case study of summer camp for altar boys in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm Goals: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create a comprehensive and systematic set of findings on the issue of management of the summer camp for altar boys in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm with emphasis on the generalization of the results and to find the positive and negative aspects from a perspective of management as the basis for influencing future development of the event. Methods: Participated observation, structured interview, analysis of documents. Results: The outcome of this work is a body of knowledge and general conclusions resulting from the management of summer camp for altar boys in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm in terms of sequential management functions and funding. Functioning of the management is under the influence of many circumstances. Strengths of the camp are organizing, funding and human resources management conversely planning and control processes are among the weaknesses. Regulatory Issues of Organizing Outdoor Activities

Title: Regulatory Issues of Organizing Outdoor Activities Objectives: The objective of this thesis was to analyse legal environment in relation to organizing programs for outdoor sports and outdoor activities, and to analyse terms and conditions for acquiring the necessary qualification. Methods: I performed analysis of the legal environment by applying descriptive analysis, in particular using document analysis as regards their content. I acquired further data based on consultation with experts in the area of individual activities, methodology and legal regulation. I organized and summarized the acquired data. Conclusions: The analysis demonstrated lack of uniformity and visible fragmentation of the regulation, which is missing overall recommendations and rules for outdoor sports and outdoor activities. Part of the rules is also contained in non-binding directives, having no legal force. I also discovered that the system of further education undergoes a transitory period. Implemented changes should lead to better clarity of the legal environment. However, the present development demonstrates that the process will be slow and demanding. Outdoor activities in children's homes and institutes

Title: Outdoor activities in institutional care Aim of the thesis: The aim of this work is to chart oudoor activites in institutional care in Liberec region. As well as to determine the types of outdoor activites and the time spent by doing these activities in nature. Methodology of research: I used the questionnaire method for this reasearch. Respondents were given questionnaires with open and closed questions concerning the topic. The data were processed quantitatively and were set out into pie charts. Results: In the questionnaire, I found out that educators believe that outdoor activities are suitable for children from institutional care. They are not only a good tool for making new contacts, but especially as a tool for increasing children's responsibility and self-knowledge. Most of the outdoor activities are used in the form of games or walks in nature. Activities that are least accessible are climbing and swimming. Top children's activity is playing on the computer and walks with friends. Playing games and collecting wild fruits are the most enjoyable outdoor activities for children. Outdoor activities bring mainly joy, fun and new experience to children. They think that they will get to know better their friends and strengthen the confidence among them during outdoor activities.
