Psychological aspects of social pedagogue's work in the area of social work

The thesis deals with the topic of psychological aspects which are essential for the work of social pedagogue in the area of social work. It deals with individual psychological aspects selected by comparison of the specific literature and researches in that area. Chosen terms consist of social interaction, social communication, social intelligence and empathy. Social communication emphasizes social pedagogical communication which is used by the social pedagogue during the communication process with clients. Further, it specifies the problematics of social interaction as a basis of the creation of interpersonal relationships. The thesis defines basic paradigms in the area of social intelligence and social competence, especially it deals with the term of social skill. Specifically, it shows the skill of active listening, which is classified as a basis of dialogue with clients. At the end the thesis emphasizes the significance of empathy among helping professions, it defines models and theories of empathy. The aim of the thesis concerns the definition of individual psychological aspects in the work of social pedagogue in the area of social work and classify them to the context of helping profession.
The Analysis of truancy in the region Ústí nad Labem in terms of socio-pedagogical

This diploma thesis discusses the issue of truancy of the primary schools' pupils in the region Ústí nad Labem from the socio-pedagogical point of view. The theoretical part is divided into eight chapters. In the introduction, there are definitions of social pedagogy, schools, compulsory school attendance and truancy. After this, thesis describes division, causes and factors which influence truancy. The thesis also discusses the school environment, family environment, peer groups, prevention and ways of dealing with truancy. In practical part, there are case studies of ten families presented in which their children dealt with truancy. The analysis of case studies is focused on identifying some factors in the families that influenced the truancy and the common way how to deal with it in Ústí nad Labem, the success of interventions and present situation. Subsequently, recommendations for practice were made.
Social pedagogical work in the school in European Union countries

The topic of this thesis is a social pedagogical work in EU countries. The main aim is to map approaches in selected European countries and the analysis of social-pedagogy work in these countries to identify reserves in this field in the Czech Republic and to propose possibilities to improve an existing concept. This thesis is based on theoretical studies as well as on the legal provisions, regulations and documents. Research problem is: "Effect of legislative changes and historical aspects in social-pedagogical activities in schools". There are defined three problematic issues: What is the role of global EU legislative for the social-pedagogy work in schools? What is the role of local legislation changes in EU countries in social-pedagogical work in schools? What is the difference in social pedagogy in schools in different EU countries related to their history? The thesis discusses basic socio-pedagogical concepts, defines social pedagogy as a scientific discipline and provides an overview of its main dimensions, areas of action, functions, methods and tasks. Volunteering as a tool of social pedagogy

SYNOPSIS The thesis has a form of a theoretical study with significant relation to practice in professional volunteer supervision in Kladno Volunteer Center. The thesis is divided in 7 parts. Part One is focused on the definition of basic terms such as volunteer, voluntary work. This part deals with the issue of awarding of volunteers. Part Two is devoted to the basic terminology of social pedagogy, including the definition of free time, the phenomenon, which is very important for both voluntary work and social pedagogy. Part Three is centered at history of social pedagogy and voluntary work. Key intersections of the two studied phenomena and their evolution are described. Part Four describes voluntary activities as a social phenomenon. Subparts are focused on the attitude of society towards voluntary work, the myths associated with it, as well as the volunteer work motivation. In part Five, I was trying to grasp volunteering as a tool of social pedagogy. The subparts combine my findings acquired from books and my own practical experience. Part Six is an analysis of a specific case of "Pět P" programme practice. Part Seven - the final one - includes a small scale empirical research. The penal carew in the prison in Knyšperk nad Ohří in light of social pedagogic

The theme of this thesis is presentation of the theoretical and practical activities of the Czech Republic Prison Service in a resocialization of convicts from the social pedagogy perspective. The theoretical part of the thesis is defined by the basic theoretical issues related to rehabilitation of prisoners, an interpretation of the legal measures, methods of educational function and activities of teaching staff involved in a re-education of prisoners. An activity treatment program of prison Kynsperk nad Ohri in terms of socio-pedagogical and convicted points of view is analyzed in the empirical part of this thesis then.
Forms of work with risk groups of young people in West Bohemia

This bachelor's thesis deals with problematic of risk behavior young people. The objectvie of this bachelor's thesis is to describe which forms of works uses social educator and which methods and possibilites has social pedagogy in work with risk young people. The theoretical part focuses on social pedagogy as a discipline, to her concept and subject. Nex tis characterized profession of social educator, which competence he has and in which areas he could acts. In the practical part of this bachelor's thesis was chosen the method of asking, quantitative approach. There was asked certain number of employees of various institutions focused on risk behavior young people and on this basis was found how they work with them.
Position of Graduates in Social Pedagogy (Faculty of Education, University of South Bohemia) in the Labour Market

This bachelor thesis deals with the professional placement of social pedagogues. The aim is to discover the occupational structure of students majoring in the Social Pedagogy study program at the Faculty of Education, University of South Bohemia in České Budejovice. We also survey how students see their careers opportunities after graduation. The theoretical part deals with the historical development of social pedagogical thinking and studies social pedagogy as a scientific discipline. Furthermore, we look into the profession of social pedagogues, their qualifications and employment opportunities. The empirical part of the thesis informs about our research. It describes the structure of social pedagogy students at the University of South Bohemia. We answer the question of how students see their employment after graduation. The other part of our research project focuses on exploring how students evaluate the importance and benefits of studies and how they develop their professional skills in connection with studying the subject. The quantitative approach method (using a questionnaire) was chosen to meet the research objectives.
