A goal of this bachelor thesis is to create a summary of possible significant adults and to compare effect of significant adults in and out of the family. Empirical part includes a suggestion of quantitative-qualitative research, which should contribute to better understanding about the notion of a relationship of a child and its influential adult in the Czech Republic. The research is oriented on children from grades six to nine. Using questionnaire and interview we investigate the basic characteristics of this relationship, which is, for example, the frequency of a contact or the content of time spent together.
Basic Income, its features and implementation
Poštulková, Jitka ; Schneider, Ondřej (advisor) ; Vaško, Dan (referee)
This thesis introduces and analyzes the controversial topic of basic income, which have recently received increasing attention of academic, political as well as general community. Definition, origins and history of the theme, current BI discussion, possible alternative and practical implementations of BI are all summarized. The thesis also simulates potential effects of BI scheme adoption in the Czech Republic. Using detailed data on income distribution and estimates of labor elasticities, we estimated a tax rate on earned income that would be necessary to implement to make the BI scheme budget neutral. Our results suggest that such a rate would be much higher than the current compounded tax and social security contribution rates, rendering the BI concept impractical in the Czech Republic. Comparison of negative income tax models
Havlíková, Iveta ; Stroukal, Dominik (advisor) ; Brožová, Dagmar (referee)
We are comparing the economic models of state social support which utilize the concept of the negative income tax. The comparison builds upon the overview of the main theoretical articles. We have analysed the proposals of various political parties regarding the negative income tax; in case of a Czech party's proposal of replacing a set of subsidies with the negative income tax, we have calculated the overall expected savings. For the purpose of the overall comparison, we selected the models of Friedman, Tobin, Sulik and the Earned Income tax Credit model. We benchmarked them in various theoretical and practical criteria. We conclude that they do not differ substantially except for their philosophical interpretation.
The effect of the type of profession on the perception of stress
NIEMCOVÁ, Markéta
The thesis reviews scientific findings relevant to the issues of stress and burn-out syndrome in its theoretical part. It focuses both on the general description of the two related phenomena and their detection and prevention options, as well as on the relationship between them and the individual{\crq}s specific professional specialization. The research part of the thesis concentrates on mapping out of severity and frequency of stress situations, on feelings associated with the burn-out syndrome, and on the possibilities of social support systems among the respondents working in different types of professions and represented by three samples: teachers {--}future educational counselors-, managers in supranational consulting companies, and therapists providing care for individuals with mental retardation and psychiatric disorders. The present work further looks at differential subjective perception of stress events among these professions. Questionnaires BMS (Ayala Malach-Pines, 2005, The Burn-out Measure Short Version) and JSS-CZ (Spielberger, Knotková, Man, 1999, Inventář pracovního stresu) were used for the data collection, as well as additional personal questions. In addition, the results{\crq} implications and their limitations for possible generalizations are discussed.
