Cortijeros en La Alpujarra: From the Lifestyle migration to Thinking about a Positive Anthropology
Varhaník Wildová, Kateřina ; Halbich, Marek (advisor) ; Kapusta, Jan (referee) ; Szaló, Csaba (referee)
Lifestyle migrants from the affluent North move to the Mediterranean region intensively from the 80's. Lifestyle migration to Spain takes different forms: here we meet rich yacht owners in Marbella, retired people in the housing complexes in Almuñecar, or surfers in Tarifa. This work focused on people, who chose their new place in the region of La Alpujarra. They live in the remote houses called cortijos, which gave name to their inhabitants - cortijeros. Their lifestyles are the subject of this work, together with more general strategies practiced in lifestyle migration, the skills needed in such a move, and values they pursue. Ten years of research enabled to get together both, opinions and plans of the newcomers in the region, and their activities, stories, and imprints in the real world. I try to present different perspectives: the lens of lifestyle migration, counter-urbanization, material culture anthropology, history, positive psychology. At the end, I propose to think a positive anthropology that would focus on studying such practices that seemed to work towards understanding "the good life"; that work towards both individual well-being, and creating social structures considerate to humans and the environment.

Černá, Andrea ; Jarošová, Eva (advisor) ; Motlová, Veronika (referee)
The aim of the diploma thesis is to create a strategy to support the engagement of members of one of the teams of a multinational company, which faces a high level of voluntary fluctuation. The recommendations are compiled in accordance with the stated theory and on the basis of a comparison of the results of two specific teams, one of which is characterized by a low employee turnover rate. On the basis of the theoretical background and the already existing questionnaire Q12 from Gallup company, a questionnaire survey is compiled. According to the results obtained, the hypothesis is verified: The members of the Spanish team have a higher engagement rate than the members of the French team. The obtained data show that the members of the French team are not satisfied with the team social climate. Then he highest proportion of nonengaged workers is identified in the category of foreign workers and among men. The thesis also deals with the interconnection of knowledge of positive psychology in working life and their connection with the engagement of employees. At the end of the thesis the recommendations for the management of the company are presented, which are the added value of this thesis. The study revealed statistically significant differences between different categories of workers that may be subject to further investigation

The psychology of happiness: interventions Influencing happiness
Figurová, Mária ; Bahbouh, Radvan (advisor) ; Blatný, Marek (referee)
The thesis deals with the topic of happiness and happiness increasing intervention strategies. The theoretical chapters discuss different approaches to defining the term and they are inclined to the view that the term reflects the subjective satisfaction with life of an individual. The thesis further deals with a number of major theories of happiness, analyzes its relationship to other variables, such as heredity, health, money or work and it gives an overview of the best known intervention strategies affecting experiencing happiness in the end of the theoretical part of it. Empirical research is aimed at testing the effectiveness of the chosen strategy - attentivenes - on the changes in experiencing happiness. Although the statistical analysis does not confirm the validity of the hypothesis of an increase in subjective levels of happiness after applying the intervention, the results tend to indicate the effectiveness of the method. Keywords: positive psychology, happiness, satisfaction, attentiveness.

Positive psychology – possibilities, challenges, opportunities
Slezáčková, Alena
Positive psychology is an actual and fast-developing movement of current world psychology. It is focused mainly on studying and supporting positive aspects of individual personality and society, and as such contributes on forming a holistic picture of psyche by adding previously omitted positive topics. In this paper, we introduce the foundations and history of positive psychology, we present its prime movers in the world and suggest possible applications of positive psychology in the Czech Republic. We summarise the existing work of Czech and Slovak authors, which is focused on positive psychology topics, and we suggest possibilities of concrete applications of this approach in education, schooling, counselling and therapy. We introduce the goals of a newly created positive psychology working group by Czech-Moravian Psychological Society, and we suggest possibilities of interdisciplinary collaboration.
