It is focused on their influence on political decision-making process, which is expressed by the influence of elite on reigning Naṣrid dynasty. It examines the elite denomination in contemporary Arabic written sources, their links and delimitations. These were mainly common economic and power interests. On the basis of the ǧāh pyramid it focuses on each aspect: Sovereign as a source of legitimacy of political power, the vizier as a major counterpart to the ruler, the inner circle of emir in which was concentrated the remaining part of the political elite, and also the Naṣrid women. Vizier, as the most significant part of this group, was eventually transformed to the role of regent and ruler's public representative. From the early 14th century with his power he began to tie the sovereign's power itself and he took over it almost permanently in the 15th century. The emphasis...
The Fall of the United States as a Global Superpower
Vilímec, Tomáš ; Kozák, Kryštof (advisor) ; Ulík, Karel (referee)
The bachelor thesis The Fall of the United States as a Global Superpower examines the current position of the United States as the only world superpower. Since the end of the Cold War the United States of America is considered as the world hegemonic power. Nonetheless many circumstances have changed since then. The United states are obliged to finance the worldwide war against terrorism, they suffered the worst economic recession since the Great depression and their relations with other countries including their allies are not as bright as they used to be. Moreover their position is no longer unchallenged by other countries. Probably the most visible competitor is China which amazes the whole world by its powerful economic growth. Also other countries are experiencing their steep rise into the position of world power. This thesis will investigate separately the military, economic and political power of the United States and will try to answer whether the hypothetical decline of the United States could be real or not.

Bouška, Ondřej ; Czumalo, Vladimír (advisor) ; Silverio, Robert (referee)
Depicting a statesman as a high representative of a political state is one of the basic ways how to communicate power. This work shows several case studies of specific examples a usage of this phenomenon in the various state establish-ments based on theoretical analysis of the social role of statesman portrait. The text documents that the appearance of these portraits is given by strong tradi-tion of painting, which fundamentally changed after the onset of photography during the second half of 19th century. The central topic of this text is the phe-nomenon of photographic portrait of statesman which specific form is reflected primarily by the context of its origin and the demands that are placed on its vis-ual aspect as a symbol of the current political power.
Deficits which are emerged from influence of the pre-eliction political effort in the Czech Republic
Trade Union movement in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic in the years 1948- 1960
Hašková, Kateřina ; Váňa, Daniel (advisor) ; Soběhart, Radek (referee)
My bachelor work deals with the Trade Union movement in the Czechoslovak Republic in the years 1948 -- 1960. Chapter I concerns itself with the foundation of the Revolutionary Union Movement in 1945 and its organization structure. Further chapters map the development and the role of Union movement under the new post-February Czechoslovakia's political and economic circumstances. The fundamental chapters refer to the relationships between Unions and Communist power, the position of Unions in the socialist system and within the National Front, and the relationships between Unions and the socialist state. One of the chapters deals with the role of Unions and methods of Union movement. I am seeking to illustrate a general view of the 1950s Union movement and analyze the relationship between Unions and political power in the given period. My work is grounded on the published sources and the latest special literature.
