Real-time text translation with using mobile devices
Sztefek, Lukáš ; Rozman, Jaroslav (referee) ; Samek, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is design and implementation of Android application which will serve as real-time translator from one language to another, including several world languages and Czech. The text obtained from image is translated and replaces the original one with keeping its visual look as much as possible. The reader gradually gets familiar with getting text from images, text translation, displaying text on mobile device and Android OS implementation. In conclusion, the experiments with multiple input images and comparison of existings applications have been done.
Holistic License Plate Recognition Based on Convolution Neural Networks
Le, Hoang Anh ; Hradiš, Michal (referee) ; Špaňhel, Jakub (advisor)
Main goal of this work was to create a holistic license plate reader, with an emphasis on achieving the highest possible accuracy on low quality images. Combination of convolutional and recurrent neural networks was designed and implemented, with usage of LSTM and CTC, where the inputs are cut-outs from the entire license plate. Competitive networks were also implemented to compare results. Networks were compared on a total of 4 datasets and the results were, that my design has achieved the best results with a recognition accuracy of 97.6%.
Image processing using Android device - automatic detection and recognition of business cards
Krčmář, Martin ; Klečka, Jan (referee) ; Honec, Peter (advisor)
The aim of this Master´s thesis is designing and developing Android application, which will be used for automatic recognition of business cards and import the contact information. The first part describes the history, architecture and development tools of operating system Android. The second part is an analysis of selected computer vision methods that were used during developing application. Libraries OpenCV and Tessaract OCR are described in this part. The main part describes the development of the application with conditions and limitations for the proper function of the application. The final part is an evaluation of the success and recognition of importing contact information from business cards.
Quality Check of Text in Forms
Moravec, Zbyněk ; Juránek, Roman (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
Purpose of this thesis is the quality check of correct button text display on photographed monitors. These photographs contain a variety of image distortions which complicates the following image graphic element recognition. This paper outlines several possibilities to detect buttons on forms and further elaborates on the implemented detection based on contour shapes description. After buttons are found, their defects are detected subsequently. Additionally, this thesis describes an automatic identification of picture with the highest quality for documentation purposes.
Filtering of Texts Extracted from PDF, OCR or Web
Žigárdi, Tomáš ; Plchot, Oldřich (referee) ; Szőke, Igor (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes normalization of texts created by conversion of other formats and creation of pronunciation dictionaries. They are important in speech processing process. Mistakes caused by conversion and original solution of this problem are analyzed. Design and implementation of normalization steps and pronunciation dictionaries is shown. Results are compared with results of original solution of this problem.
Edge Detection and Representation Algorithms for Object Recognition
Beránek, Jan ; Herout, Adam (referee) ; Španěl, Michal (advisor)
Main topic of this work are edge detection and representation algorithms used in an digital image. Some of typically used algorithms and methods are shown and described. Next aim of this work is design and description of implementation of a simple OCR system based on edge detection with use of an artificial neural net for a machine printed character recognition. The system was written in C programming language and uses OpenCV graphic library and FANN library for creating a neural net. Application was created and tested under Windows XP operating system.
Characters recognizing by artificial intelligence
Možný, Karel ; Babinec, Tomáš (referee) ; Červinka, Luděk (advisor)
This thesis describes problems of character recognition in digital picture and how to solve those problems using artificial neural networks, computer vision and statistical moments. Further it describes design of this network and implementation of solutions in C++ programing language.
Defect detection using smart camera
Hons, Viktor ; Boštík, Ondřej (referee) ; Honec, Peter (advisor)
This thesis deals with the application of smart cameras and verification of its functions. In the first part the term smart camera is defined, the parts of it and the most common applications are presented. A review of smart cameras from the different manufactures on the market is made. After selection of the proper camera model three task from real industrial application are specified – inspection of capacitor print, inspection of beer label and dimension measurement. With the picked camera the tasks are performed, including the layout of workplace, scene and lighting. Further the reliability is tested together with the successfulness and the speed of designed solution.
Information System for a Doctor with a Mobile Application for Patients
Vlasák, David ; Burget, Radek (referee) ; Bartík, Vladimír (advisor)
This thesis deals with the development of an information system for a doctor and patients. Doctor uses a web application, which is implemented using ASP.NET MVC. Patient uses a mobile application, which is written using Xamarin.Forms technology. This application uses optical character recognition for patient registration. The most important functions of the system is to manage patients, their orders and also for patients the possibility to request a reorder. The system was successfully designed, implemented and tested by potential users.
Automatic Quantification of Chemical Equations from Photos
Kraina, Martin ; Šimon, Martin (referee) ; Beran, Vítězslav (advisor)
The target of this thesis is to design and implement Android application, which provides automated chemical equation balancing tool. System enables taking a photo of reaction using the smartphone camera and choosing reaction position in the picture. Then the system accomplish operations necessary to optical character recognition and chemical equation balancing. Result of these operations is presented to the user. Within the implementation, graphical user interface meeting users requirements on functionality and easy controllability was designed
