Continuity of Aging
Ach-Hübner, Klarisa ; Valouch, Štěpán (referee) ; Hora, Jan (advisor)
The thesis deals with alternative solutions to the current form of health and social care for the elderly. It addresses the problem of over-specialisation of care, which results in the deteriorating condition of the client requiring more frequent changes of care settings. The thesis builds on a pre-diploma project that explored the differences between different types of care. Where meaningful, it proposes to combine the different types of care into a coherent whole - a stable home. This offers continuity of care, stability of relationships between clients and also to staff, and constancy of environment. The stable home is presented in the form of a more generally applicable typology and then tested on a specific design for a home on náměstí Míru in Brno.
