Intensive hippotherapy in children diagnosed with infantile paralysis and its short-term and intermediate effect
Kopecká, Tereza ; Pivec, Martin (advisor) ; Kulichová, Jana (referee)
Hippotherapy belongs to the family of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation methods. It especially benefits the rehabilitation care of complex neurological patients. This paper theoretically examines the methodology of hippotherapy. Further, this paper examines an evaluative survey of 21 subjects after intensive hippotherapy who were initially diagnosed with cerebral palsy. The immediate, short and medium term effect of the therapy was exami-ned. For the evaluation the intercondylic index, Collis symptom and position reaction tests were used. The testing is complemented with a questionnaire filled in by parents with 11 pa-rameters, which included changes in the functions of knowledge and psyche of the child. The results show that there is a statistically significant improvement in all examined parameters after immediate and weekly therapy. Thus this method can be recommended as a possible approach to the therapy of children with cerebral palsy. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Imitating a mechanisms of human walking, which leads to relaxation of spasticity. Impulses are transmitted onto back which brings interaction of impeller and back muscles, stand up pose, and posture interference. All this brings a walking improvements, movements coordination, balance and consolidation of a flabby muscles. Each horse has a different nature...
Influence of horse breed and type of terrain on activation of the abdominal muscles in hippotherapy
Fraňková, Věra ; Lopot, František (advisor) ; Kubový, Petr (referee)
Title: Influence of horse breed and type of terrain on activation of the abdominal muscles in hippotherapy. Purposes: The aim of the study is to find out if horse breed and type of terrain approaches muscle activation in the position of unassisted sitting Methods: The study is of intraindividual character and incudes theoretical and practical part. The activation of abdominal muscles was measured by using surface electromyography and kinematic analysis. Results: There was differance between muscle activation with a different type of terrain. Horse breed does not influence a muscle activation but the individual biomechanic of each horse. Key words: hippotherapy, hipporehabilitation, horse breed, activation of abdominal muscles, unassisted seat, therapeutic horseback riding, electromyography

Title Positioning of patiens in hippotherapy Goals The goal of my thesis was maping and analysing positions and rules which are mostly used in hippotherapy, in which is used healthfull efekt of three dimentional motion of horses back. Every patient, who entres this therapy is individual, and by this is cared for him. It is necessary to choose the right positions and use another positions ofr patient. The results of questionnaire shows how important the graded therapeutist is. On the therapeutist depends the process of threatment and complection of the therapy due to another diseases of patients. Animal-assisted therapy Introduction into the topic: Animal-assisted therapy is a collective term for rehabilitation methods and methods of psychosocial support of health, based on a positive contact between human and animal. It lies on the border of several disciplines, for example occupational therapy, nursing, psychology or education. This thesis deals with animal-assisted therapy from the perspective of a nurse as a participant in therapy nad its effects, which are reflected in nursing care. Goal This thesis aims to find out what are the experiences of nurses with animal assisted therapy and the extend to which nurses participates. Research questions: What are the experiences of nurses with zootherapy? To what extent the nurse can participate in animal assisted therapy? Which effects of therapy can reflect in nursing care? Methodology: Data collection was conducted semi-structured interview technique that was analyzed with using coding. Results I found that a participation of nurses on canistherapy is rather passive. The nurse tells the canisterapeut necessary information about the current status of the client, in some cases accompanied the therapist to the patient. Nurses are limited to greater participation mainly because of the time options . Actively involved in dog therapy are primarily...
