The solved building is located in a terraced house on Husova Street in the center of Slavkov u Brna. The building is divided into 3 functional parts, namely the rebuilt and upgraded part of the building, the demolished part of the existing extension and the newly designed part of the extension. The entrance to the building is secured by an underpass to an enclosed courtyard with additional parking spaces. The new condition has two floors, a residential attic and a partial basement. There is a hairdressing salon on the first floor of the converted part of the building. In other parts of the upper floors there are four residential units. In the basement there are warehouses, cellars, hygiene, utility room and relaxation room with sauna and shower. In the rebuilt part, the original load-bearing system made of mixed masonry and wooden beam ceilings was preserved. In the built-up part, a reinforced concrete monolithic ceiling and ceramic fittings are proposed. The supporting system of roofing with a mansard roof is made of a wooden truss and steel central beam. Concrete blocks in the basement and ceramic fittings for the above-ground floor are connected for the load-bearing structures of the extension. The rigidity of the structure is ensured by reinforced concrete monolithic wreaths, ceilings. The roofing of the ports is solved by a single-skin roof over the stairs and a double-skin countertop roof over the housing units. Macek, Štěpán ; Špiller, Martin (referee) ; Guzdek, Adam (advisor) ; Kalousek, Lubor (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor thesis was to prepare a documentation for building permits and a part of the documentation for the building construction on the basis of an architectural study, developed in the „AG35 – Monuments Restoration Studio“ module. The topic of the studio work was to think about the appropriate use of a listed building in the historic center of the village of Malé Svatoňovice and to create an architectural study. I have proposed the following concept. The building should serve as a municipal house, so I have concentrated the corresponding functions here: the municipal office, the ceremonial hall, the museum, doctors labs, cosmetics, the pharmacy and finally the spa, which had a long tradition here. When restoring an object, I proceed synthetically. I examine the quality and preservation of individual layers. Then I highlight the best of each one. If some layer have not been preserved, but still have had its qualities, I remind it in a new language. I think it was Tadao Ando who said, "If the genius loci is to be legible, it must be revived and provoked by inventive inputs." I combine modern with historical using timelessness.

The topic of the bachelor thesis is the restoration of the former city spa in the village of Malé Svatoňovice. The documentation is based on an architectural study prepared within the subject AG035 Studio of Architectural Creation - Restoration of Monuments. This building listed as cultural monument is situated at the southeast side of Karel Čapek Square. Former function of a spa is returned as wellness on the 1st floor and a boarding house is restored as short-term accommodation on the 2nd floor. At the same time, it is a modernization of the building with an emphasis on preserving its original expression. Main intention was to return the building to its first republican appearance from 1936, when the building was restored after a fire in 1930. This decision stems from the fact that it is the best-preserved layer of reconstruction to these days. Representative views of the building from the square are preserved, as well as the southern view from 9th May Street, which is characterized by an underpass with an impressive view of the square with the church. The building remains multifunctional, besides leaving the function of a spa and boarding house, it leaves doctors' offices related to the overall mental and physical health. Exhibition spaces with art works by the Čapek brothers important for the village of Malé Svatoňovice remain in the building, and a café function has been added to support public life in the square. Structures from the Baroque period, which form the essence of the building, remain without significant structural changes, but the layout is cleared of later interventions - partitions which are dividing space inappropriately are going to be removed. All interventions are designed to be in accordance with the monument restoration and at the same time meet current requirements. Part of the project is the addition of two communication cores, which were necessary for the quality of operation of individual operation and to meet the requirement for ac
