Forest School Education

This bachelor thesis deals with education in forest preschools. This is a relatively new trend in preschool education in the Czech Republic and the aim of the thesis is to create a realistic and complete picture of this alternative. The thesis has two parts. The first part puts this pedagogical concept into the context of the current social situation, introduces its pedagogical bases and historical moments of its formation and spreading in the world. Further the theoretical part introduces the possible concepts and definitions of forest preschools, presents the basic principles, criteria, specifics and other related issues. At the end of the theoretical part the thesis deals with the Czech context of forest preschools. The practical part gives an insight into a possible case of the practice of forest preschool and presents research results in this area. The research focuses on the specific way of organizing of particular forest preschool, its pedagogical concept and also introduces the views of people involved.
Primary school students' preconceptions of church and their influencing through experience

This diploma thesis deals with primary school student's preconceptions of church influenced by experience. The theoretical part summarizes the findings connected to the issues of children's preconceptions and their importance in the process of learning. It describes recommended techniques of working with children's preconceptions and it informs about factors which influence children's understandings. The following chapter concentrates on the definition of outreach and its value in children's lives. Furthermore, the thesis shows the connection of the term church with the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education, especially in the section of spiritual and social studies. The next chapter focuses on social studies in general and also on cultural universals as a possible resolution of the issues in social studies. The empirical part describes lectures in a church for primary school students which develop children's understandings of the term church. The diploma thesis suggests an improved design as an innovation of the lectures. Children's preconceptions of church are researched through individual interviews with pupils. Application of Experiential Learning in Teaching Physics

The thesis deals with the method of experiential learning and its applications in teaching physics. Experiential learning is regarded as one of the possibilities how to accomplish educational goals. The first part of the thesis constitutes a reflection on the meaning of education, it offers, among others, a reason for discovering more about experiential learning. Furthermore, the theoretical background of experiential learning is described - Kolb's cycle and learning styles derived from it form a significant part; the growth zone is also presented. Attention is also paid to how the teacher and student are viewed in experiential learning. After the theoretical introduction, the thesis is more practical. It explains what a teacher has to know when creating and presenting an activity for students. This is followed by specific suggestions of activities which use the method of experiential learning and which are to be realised mainly outside the classroom (e.g. at an overnight school trip). The activities deal with different topics of physics (e.g. optics, acoustics or astrophysics). Students' own involvement and experience are emphasised. Suggested activities can supplement ordinary school teaching and thus let students know physics from a different perspective. 1
Deepening of health principles and sanitary habits of pre-school children through musical activities

This Bachelor thesis will emphasize the importance of health principles and sanitary habits through for musical activities of pre-school children. As means of deepening of health principles and sanitary habits will be used both original songs and poems composed from three perspectives: psychological (adequacy in terms of the character of perception and level of psychological characteristics), artistic (adequacy of instrumentation and rhytmic-melodic structure in terms of possibilities of musical expression of pre-school children), and ethical (creating attitudes as relatively permanent values of a forming personality). The research will be carried out using a sample of 5 to 6 year-old children in an ordinary kindergarten participating in a musical performance. It will be evaluated based on empirical validation. The effectivity of the research will be deepened by observing children and interviews with the children's parents. At the end, the author of the thesis will summarize the most important experience and propose ideas for musical-pedagogical practice. Experiential Pedagogical Teaching and Variation of using it for Clients in the Educational Institution

The bachelor thesis with potential possibilities of using pedagogical learning for clients in the educational institution may be one of the different school facilities for the performance of institutional and protective education. Regarding the creators, organization, search and evaluation of stays, who have a share in who has a chance, it can be stored in the institution for the performance of institutional and protective education, dare to say that the result of the research is significantly positive. The theoretical part is presented in four chapters. The first chapter presenting legislative framework of institutional care in the Czech Republic and the division into other types of school facilities for institutional and protective care. The second chapter focuses on behavioral disorders, their characteristics and division. The third chapter describes re-education and re-socialization programs as the solution of available transferred processes. The last chapter focus on experiential learning. Practical part of bachelor thesis describe creating, organization, searching and evaluation of weekend stay for group of clients from educational institute based on principle of experiential pedagogical learning. The result is a processed methodological material which can be possible to use as a prepare and organize other important stays. Practical part of bachelor thesis was created based on qualitative type of research strategy, questioning methods, observation techniques, semi-structured interviews with selected clients and secondary data analysis. At the end of the thesis we describing use the method of experiential learning during weekend stays for clients in the educational institution and about the positive and negative outcome, which can come with realize this type of stay.
John Dewey: Experience and Education

This thesis deals with terms like experience and experiential learning in publications by John Dewey. The aim of this thesis is to find out how John Dewey works with issues of experiential learning. The thesis is structured in six main chapters. Each chapter is relevant to one Dewey´s book, which is related to experiential learning theory. In the first chapter, there are general thoughts of experiential learning from Experience and Nature. In the second chapter, Art as Experience is analysed, in which Dewey researches experience connected with art and aesthetics. The third chapter presents an analysis of The Child and The Curriculum, focused on curriculum from the point of experimental learning. The fourth chapter is concerned with The School and Society, in which there are obvious thoughts of experiential learning from educational and social perspective. The fifth chapter is based on Democracy and Education, where John Dewey thinks about experiential learning and its consequences for an individual in democratic society. Last chapter analyses Experience and Education, which sums up and complements the previous publications.
Experience in teaching Czech language at lower-secondary school

The thesis Experience in teaching Czech language at lower-secondary school is focused on the implementation of experiential learning into the Czech language teaching. The thesis consists of two parts. The theoretical part describes the main principles and methods of experiential learning and their use in the context of the Czech language teaching. The practical part presents actual lesson plans, in which principles and methods are used. The lesson plans are focused on teaching communication and acquiring active knowledge of Czech syntax, lexicology and semantics. Based on the experience of implementing of activities in teaching Czech language at the 6th grade of lower-secondary school, the author of the thesis explains importance of the experience in Czech language teaching. The results show the experience could be used effectively in the Czech teaching methodology.
Psychological aspects of games in teambuilding

This thesis is focused on topic of games used in teambuilding while presenting knowledge from theory and proposal of effectiveness verification in practice. The theoretical part is devoted to defining teambuilding and method of games and further analyzes psychological aspects involved in the process. The psychological aspects are categorized chronologically in three phases - psychological aspects entering the process before its beginning (team composition, motivation and expectation of team members), psychological aspects occurring during the teambuilding (the role of lecturer, atmosphere of psychological safety, debriefing etc.) and finally psychological aspects, which could be observed after teambuilding (effectiveness, possibilities and limits). The project of research deals with verification of teambuilding program effectiveness in the area of proclaimed objectives. I decided to compare two forms of teambuilding - with or without debriefing because of opinion of some experts that debriefing is a key component which distinguish effective and ineffective teambuilding.
