Alternative and augmentative communication for adults with combined disabilities

The master thesis deals with alternative and augmentative communication for adults with combined disabilities. It defines the theoretical foundations of disability, more specifically combined disability. It also describes the communication of people with combined disabilities and explains concepts such as communication, impaired communication skills or speech therapy intervention for people with combined disabilities. Its disadvantages relate more to alternative and augmentative communication, in which it describes in more detail the methods and systems, diagnostic aspects, training of use or its advantages and benefits. The main purpose of this work is to describe the use of alternative and augmentative communication in the everyday life of adults with combined disabilities, especially in everyday activities and also in the possibility of expressing their needs and feelings. The research survey took place in two phases, in the first phase case studies of adults with combined disabilities were prepared and in the second phase participatory observation and direct work with individual persons was carried out. At the end of the work, the benefits of alternative and augmentative communication in adults with combined disabilities are characterized.
Adult with a visual handicap in an institutional facility - a case study

Bachelor thesis is conceived as a case study, that depicts the life and development of the client from the Integrated Social Service Centre Odlochovice. The tex is devoted to the visual and mental disability in the interaction between each other. It further describes the social services for people with disabilities and two specific devices that provide these services. The next part deals with the client itself, its development in the city, the environment in which he lives and the services they use. At conclusion of the thesis are recommended mobility aids, which would facilitate the client to partially compensate for the absence of vision.The aim of this thesis is to propose appropriate compensatory aids and determine whether the Integrated Social Service Centre Odlochovice is able to provide adequate special educational care and support for persons with visual disabilities.
ICT technology as a medium of education for children with multiple disabilities, includint the visual impaired

The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out the importance of ICT as a means for the education of pupils with combined disabilities with dominant visual disabilities. It can be said that the importance of ICT in the education of people with disabilities is higher than that of the intact population, because people with disabilities can use ICT as a compensatory aid when they are able to compensate for some disadvantages due to disability Individual. In order to ascertain the importance of ICT as a means of education of disabled people, a research was carried out between pedagogical staff teaching people with disabilities in special schools or special classes of elementary schools. The high importance of ICT in the education of pupils with disabilities was confirmed by both the research and the search of specialized literature. Creating snoezelen room for pupils with severe mental and combined disabilities

The thesis deals with the creation of Snoezelen room, its characteristics and properties. He is more closely involved with the creation of snoezelen for pupils with mental and combined disabilities who are trained in special primary schools. The work describes the target group, defines the snoezelen method and describes its origin and development in our country and abroad. The main goal of the thesis is to explain to the reader how the rooms are created and what it is necessary to know before deciding to launch the snoezelen room. This information was used mainly by special teachers who operate snoezelena in facilities where they work in schools. The thesis also touches on the topic of education at special schools, methods of working with these pupils and describes types of expressive therapies, therapies, basal stimulation and sensory stimulation. The thesis also reflects the Snoezelen-MSE qualification course in theory and practice, which was the main source. The output of the thesis is a proposed room model, description of equipment and activities that are suitable for working with disadvantaged pupils.
Evaluation of children's development with combined infliction focused on the development of partial functions

The thesis discusses the issue of multiple handicaps, and partial functions development, in children. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. There is an initial description of individual types of handicaps that are relevant to the topic. It focuses on partial functions and their specific development. The practical part aims at special elementary school education and educational work and methods in an orphanage. The thesis describes particular options of how to develop partial functions of the handicapped children. The thesis is qualitative research using observations, interactions with children and interviews with teachers. Canine Therapy in the Center Bazalka, o.p.s.

The bachelor thesis deals with the theme of Canine therapy in the Bazalka Center, o.p.s.. In the thesis I describe the course of canine therapy in this organization. Furthermore, I evaluate the benefits of therapy from the perspective of the workers and the clients. Canine therapy takes form of a group interaction with adult clients with combined disabilities. The work also maps the strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and risks involved in providing canine therapy. The aim of my bachelor thesis was to evaluate the provision of canine therapy in Bazalka Center, o.p.s. in České Budějovice for adult clients with combined disabilities, first from the point of view of workrs and second from the perspective of clients and clients 18+. In my research I decided to use qualitative research strategy, polling method, semi-structured interview technique. The research team consisted of five clients and five workers. The results showed that clients evaluate canine therapy positively. All the clients chose the option "I am feeling good in the presence of a dog". We also got answers to the question what kind of activities do clients prefer. There is an interesting evaluation of the benefits of canine therapy from the employees' point of view. The employees have seen the greatest benefit in improved mental health of clients, enriched environment with new incentives and motivation for action. The bachelor thesis can be used as a source of information for canine therapy workers who can find out how to conduct canine therapy with clients with combined disabilities. In addition, the organization can use incentives for improvement. It also serves as a feedback for the existing canisterapeutical team.
Transit period in the lives of people with combined disabilites: Transition planning of the transition from special education to the ordinary educational process

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of the transit period for people with combined disabilities, namely light mental disabilities and impairment of communication abilities (hereinafter referred to as "NKS"), by passing from a special boarding school of logopedics to the 2nd level of ordinary elementary schools with daily attendance. In the work I try to outline the most problematic areas with which the particular pupil was confronted during the transit period and I present used compensatory mechanisms. I also try to suggest other forms of compensation that could be beneficial for a particular pupil in the transit period. In conclusion, I describe the current state of the pupil and the prognosis of his application in future professional life.
Differentiation of supply and methods of work of rehabilitation of persons with mental or multiple disabilities in the practice of providers of social services.

The bachelor thesis deals with the differentiation of the offer and methods of work rehabilitation of people with mental or combined disabilities in the practice of social service providers. The aim of the work was to find out what means and methods of work rehabilitation are used by social service providers in the Strakonice region. The objectives were achieved by studying professional literature, internet resources and qualitative research. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of concepts of disability, mental disability and combined disability. Attention is paid to the definition of adulthood and the importance of work for people with disabilities. A comprehensive rehabilitation system and its individual tools and resources are brought closer together. The practical part provides information on the specific rehabilitation organizations and tools they use to activate and engage their clients. It describes the possibilities of permeability of persons with mental disabilities by individual components of work rehabilitation from outpatient or residential services to a protected or open labor market. It approaches the clients' own insights into the possibilities of activation offered and the idea of their working self-realization. The research was conducted using a qualitative strategy, a semi-structured interview method. The bachelor thesis brings knowledge from the field of employment of people with mental disabilities. The results show that the current system creates and supports the process of motivation and training for these people to enter the labor market. These efforts are also supported by valid legislation that supports employers of disabled people and offers them various benefits. The work can serve as information material for counseling facilities or labor offices. It can also point out to organizations that perform work rehabilitation or provide a service to social therapy workshops for other activities that can be spent in the service.
Comparison of therapies of children with multiple disabilities and mental disabilities in the ARPIDA centre nurseryschool and Nurseryschool Demlova in Jihlava and Special

This thesis focuses on possibilities of therapies for individuals with combined disabilities in facilities devoted to coordinated rehabilitation. The goalis to learn which aktivity is the most suitable for each child, which they enjoy the most. The paper is composed of two parts, theoretical and practical. The first part is devoted to the development of a child from the time of birth until the preschool age. The second chapter studies frequent disabilities. Further, therapies used in treating patients with combined disabilities are described. A method of structured interviews with nursery teachers at theArpida c.i.s. and Nursery and SEC Jihlava, Demlova 28 and parents of selected children. The results show teachers possible ways a child can be affected and provide a feedback for further work with children with a similar condition.
