Coaching as a leadership style

Diploma thesis Coaching as a leadership style discusses new approach of management in corporations. The perspective on ideal way to manage people has been changing from dehumanizing approach of management to more humane perspective, which takes into account the uniqueness of personalities, interpersonal relationships, needs and motivation. These changes are described in the beginning of the thesis. Then, author focuses on a new trend - the use of coaching skills in managing people in organizations. Based on interviews with managers and their direct subordinates, the current situation of implementing coaching as a leadership style in Czech corporations is shown. The necessary conditions, which need to be accomplished for successful implementation, are revealed. The corporate environment must be set up and manager as a role model must be created. Managers need to change themselves, they need to develop their personalities and learn coaching skills. Furthermore, the relationship between managers and their employees must be based on mutual trust and openness. Consequently, coaching as a leadership style has an impact on employees. Title: Application possibilities of managerial styles in kindergarten Author: Alena Jeremiášová Department: Faculty of Education Supervisor: Mgr. George Trunda Abstract: The topic of this bachelor thesis is "The possibilities of application of managerial styles in kindergarten". The theoretical part deals with the difference between managing people and leading people. Next chapter includes managerial styles of work divided according to various authors. Following chapter defines function of manager and analyzes the manager competence. Subsequently there is briefly delineated the situation in the education sector since 1989 and there are also defined current roles of director and deputy director, their rights, responsibilities and obligations. In the empirical part sets problematic issues and describes methods and methodology of research. To achieve the objectives of this thesis was chosen a questionnaire. Based on results of the questionnaire new information about leading styles in kindergarten in Hradec Králové and its surroundings were found. In conclusion all new information were summarized in charts and graphs and evaluated.

This bachelor work examines stress factors and effects of stress on work performance of employees in a chosen company. The specific company sells products through phone calls. First was the need to explore the literary basis for the themes that dealt with stress, stressors, stress management at work etc. This information formed the basis for the creation of a questionnaire that was available to employees in a small company with 30 employees. This questionnaire was filled out by 20 respondents and the results were used to precisely analyze the situation that was required to propose solutions for executives. The solutions are in the end of this work.

The main objective of the thesis was to define and analyze key aspects of managerial work in multicultural environment, in one of the Shared Services Center department, of multinational company based in Prague, Czech Republic. Further thesis aimed to define essential competencies of the successful manager and leader driving performance of multicultural department and provides recommendations to improve managerial performance in key aspects of manager s work such as communication, motivation, performance management and cross-cultural leadership. It is argued that presence of intercultural interactions between managers and their subordinates, impacts effectiveness of the managerial performance. Thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. First part of the thesis explores theoretical concepts regarding culture, communication, motivation and leadership with respect to multicultural environment specifics. In the second part, used research methods, conducted research analysis and outcomes are presented. Further in practical part recommendation towards analyzed aspects of managerial work that would lead to higher overall department performance are defined.

ABSTRACT Kratochvílová, V. Bc. "Coaching as a way of keeping people in a selected company". Diploma thesis. Brno, 2015. The diploma thesis is focused on using coaching as a method of (management style) in the chosen company. The aim is to determine how often and in what form is used coaching as a participatory method of management in selected company. The first part in the form of a literature review deals with the definition of management styles, their characteristics, defining governance levels represented by management and currently represents the main aspects of coaching. It defines basic concepts connected with this issue, defines coaching to other management styles, describes the role of coach or manager in the role of coach, types of coaching and typical situations when it is appropriate to use coaching. The practical part is developed mixed design research, which is focused on the use of management styles by managers and subordinates in the company. Selected methods for data analysis was a questionnaire survey and interviews, whose results are interpreted, discussed and correspond to the selected research questions. Analysis of Employee Motivation and Proposals for Improvement

This thesis deals with the motivation and remuneration of employees in the company Erste Group Shared Services. Based on the information obtained is analyzed the current situation in the company. Using the survey is examined employee satisfaction with motivational resources used. The final section provides suggestions for streamlining motivation, increase labor productivity and improve employee satisfaction.
