The thesis deals with the concept of family conferences, which are a support tool for the functioning of families. The paper' s objective is to present information about the character, implementation and difficulties of the practice of family conferences. The text is divided into a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the topic of family, its functioning and possibilities of its support within the Czech system of social care. Furthermore, it provides information about the benefits and the process of family conferences. The research part presents and evaluates the research of documents presenting the reasons for the implementation of family conferences, its impact and development in New Zealand, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic. The research part includes qualitative research carried out in the form of an interview. It provides information about some problem-solving processes in the families. The research findings suggest that we can benefit from experience from other countries during the implementation of family conferences in the Czech Republic and that the families involved in the research are inclined to solving complex situations by their own efforts. Key words: family, vulnerable family, family group conferences, empowerment, support
Large laser sparks for laboratory simulation of high-energy-density events in planetary atmospheres
Babánková, Dagmar ; Civiš, Svatopluk (advisor) ; Strauch, Bohuslav (referee) ; Špirko, Vladimír (referee) ; Rohlena, Karel (referee)
3 Conclusion The main goal of this doctoral thesis is to investigate the possibility of synthesis of simply organic molecules from inorganic gases such CO,CO2N2,NH3,CHa,H2O,H2, using the large laser sparks. The laser sparks provide a unique way to mimic the chemical effects of high-energy-density events in planetary atmospheres (cometary impact, lightning) matching the natural energy-density, its spatio-temporal evolution and plasma-volume scaling ofsuch events in a fully-controlled laboratory environment. Laser induced dielectric breakdown was induced by Š1kJ laser pulses in molecular gases and mixtures related to various planetary atmospheres. We believe that the single-shot experiments realized at the high-power laser facility simulate more realistically high-energy-density atmospheric events than similar experiments conducted with electrical discharges or experiments using low- energy pulses from high-repetition-rate lasers. In our case three different gaseous mixtures were used for these purposes; the strongly.reduced mixture NH3-Cř{4.H2-H2o, medium-reduced mixture CO-N2-H2O and mildly-reduced mixture CO2-N2-H2O. For all kind of my experiments the emission spectra w€re measured in different spectral regions. The motecular bands of CN and C2 radicals dominates in the visible spectra taken from the...
Czech Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine in the post-Maidan period
Hroch, Jaroslav ; Svoboda, Karel (advisor) ; Sviták, Matěj (referee)
This bachelor thesis discusses Czech humanitarian aid provided to Ukraine since the beginning of the protest movement in Independence Square in November 2013 up to the fall 2015. The aim of this thesis is to ascertain specifics of Czech humanitarian aid provided to Ukraine, its main influences and to determine to what extent it is possible to apply these characteristic to Czech humanitarian aid in broad sense. In the thesis are thus analysed the very definition of relief aid, its considerable aspects and current trends. These trends are in the same time linked to Czech humanitarian aid and their influence is examined. The thesis also explores and examines the crisis in Ukraine, since its' specific context influenced Czech humanitarian aid. Czech humanitarian aid is analysed by means of qualitative approach. The core of this approach is based on interviews with prominent people employed in the humanitarian sector and on analysis of humanitarian policy of the Czech state and of selected humanitarian non-governmental organizations: ADRA Czech Republic, the Czech Red Cross, People in need, Caritas Czech Republic, and Doctors without borders Czech Republic. These organizations were chosen on the basis of importance in humanitarian aid to Ukraine. These organizations are in addition classified in order...
Happinesss in Romantic Relationships
Kalousová, Zuzana ; Štětovská, Iva (advisor) ; Kebza, Vladimír (referee)
This thesis pursues the topic of satisfaction in romantic relationships. The previous research was focused mainly on unhappy relationships, marital crises and divorce. This thesis follows the other direction. Its aim is to describe variables which make longterm romantic relationships satisfying. In the theoretical part is an overview of literature and researches that adressed this topic. In the empirical part of this thesis is qualitative research that tries to enlighten the specifics of happy couples in Czech Republic. The grounded theory was used to analyze interviews with 22 respondents. The results are 10 categories representing various areas that contributed to satisfaction in respondents' relationships: harmony, safety, good choice of spouse, stable financial situation, family, overcoming of differences and obstacles, doing things together, communication, endurance and trying not to solve everything.
The Name Change Process in the Czech Republic
Stuchlá, Anna ; Sherman, Tamah (advisor) ; Kopecký, Jakub (referee)
Personal names are one of the few areas of language regulated by law in the Czech Republic. Name change then represents an often complicated process that is dealt with on various levels of social interactions. Language Management Theory is based on differentiation between language and metalanguage activities. These metalanguage activities are the subject of study, and are often called language management (Nekvapil, 2009: p. 1, 2). In language management research, theory also considers processes happening on micro-level of daily interactions, on macro-level of language-planning institutions, the way these levels interact with each other and even the linguistic, communicative and sociocultural dimensions of metalanguage activities. This is why it was chosen as a research method to describe the name change process, which is the major aim of this thesis. My research is based on an analysis of current laws and interviews with seven respondents who changed their names. The comparison of these two levels showed that the current norms are not based on common communication and may cause problems in everyday interactions. These problems are more related to communicative and sociocultural management, and therefore discussion with experts from these fields seems to be appropriate.
The Policy Paradox of the Intelligence Community Setup and its Democratic Oversight: The Case of the Czech Republic between 1993 and 2013
Ryza, Tomáš ; Ludvík, Jan (advisor) ; Kučera, Tomáš (referee)
Intelligence services are vital security systém elements of each democratic state. Access to the important intels without any lags is basic for state to survive. No state, nor the democratic nor the totalitarian can survive withou intelligence. On the other hand, strong based and rooted oversight is nature in democratic states. Basic purpose of this work is in examination of the situation in the Czech republic, where intelligence systém reform should be prepared as soon as possible. Especially in the light of missuse of the military intelligence by prime minister's mistress in 2013. In advance, the limits of current oversight methods and systém should be find. Deborah Stone's, proffesor of Dartmouth university, in the Czech republic rare theory called Policy Paradox is used as main for this work. It was choosen because it brings new view on the current intelligence system setup and its oversight. This analytical model see creation of public policy as continuous clash of personal and public interests. In advanced it is in opposition to the traditional view of policy from the market perspective and it provide new view as ancient polis where you have to beer the public interest on your mind. There are suggested possible improvements and changes in the conception rate on the basis of the theoretical work. Part of the empirical part is also evaluation of feedback provided by course participants but systematically not processed. Keywords: Line managers, education, competence, evaluation of educational activities
Uplatnění zobecněných a smíšených regresních modelů v dendrometrii
Adamec, Zdeněk
This thesis deals with the application of generalized and mixed regression models in forest mensuration. All tested models could be theoretically applicable in different areas of forest tree and stand modelling. The aim of this thesis is, based on the knowledge and results of studies of other authors (from literature review) and especially on the results of author´s own research presented in this thesis (case studies), to confirm the applicability of four selected types of regression models in forest mensuration, either local or global level. Under certain conditions, the selected models could be also used to regionalize the chosen global model through its calibration. Specifically, generalized linear models, linear models with mixed effects, nonlinear models with mixed effects and generalized additive models are tested. The case studies were carried out either on datasets obtained at Training Forest Enterprise Masaryk´s Forest Křtiny (seven case studies) or on datasets collected across the whole Czech Republic as part of the National Forest Inventory (two case studies) or other nationwide studies (one case study). Nine of case studies were based on original scientific papers and one study was written according to article in proceedings from international conference. Based on information from the literature review and mainly from the results of own case studies, it can be stated that the tested models are fully applicable for modelling of wide range of tree or stand variables describing the actual state or future development of individual trees or forest stands. The applicability of the models was confirmed at the local and global level too, including the possibility of regionalization of global model through its calibration.
