Social and psychological grounds for, and legalization of the holocaust
Paleček, Lukáš ; Kosek, Jan (advisor) ; Mucha, Ivan (referee)
Title of the thesis: Social-Psychological Causes and the Legalization of the Holocaust Summary: Although the Holocaust (a word for suffering of millions of individual people of vastness that stretches beyond our imagination) is a rather distressing topic I chose to carry out this re- search for two reasons, which prevailed. First, the experience shows that extreme situations reveal many latent features of human psyche - studying them is tempting. Second, the Holo- caust is a morally and politically important and still topical theme because not forgetting evil is a manner of its prevention. The purpose of my thesis is to present (and emphasise) the idea that the tragedy of the Holo- caust did not merely have causes, which can be described as political or economic (or exclu- sively psychiatric - which is perhaps the most dangerous simplification), but that a significant part of what happened is explainable from the point of view of social psychology. The second of the main goals of the thesis is to analyse anti-Semitic law (and very briefly also anti- Gypsies law) of the war Slovak state. To integrate researches in the two aforementioned scientific disciplines (social psychology and legal history) in a coherent unit I chose to use the Czech penal law's concept of elements of crime. There are four basic...

Reaction of selected varieties of winter oilseed rape (Brassica napus) on the application of fungicides
Vojík, Jan ; Bečka, David (advisor) ; Michal, Michal (referee)
Oilseed rape i sone of the most important crops in the world. I tis the most important oil crop in Czech Republic. I the last 50 years it had undergone large change in breedeng. Ratio of grown hybrids at present tops the open pollinated lines ( planning for harvest in 2016 saw 88% hybrids and only 12% of lines). There are quite important differences between varieties in tolerance to fungal diseases and not only to them. There are first varieties marketed with gene of pot shatter tolerance and others. The pressure of fungal diseases grows due to growing planting area of the rape. Trials with oil seed rape were established in the growing season 2014/15 on four varieties and two locations. We tested following hybrids: Arsenal (Limagrain), DK Exstorm (Monsanto), Jumper (Bayer), SY Cassidy (Syngenta). The locations were in the district Jičín farm AGRO Slatiny a.s., and in the district Kolín farm ZD Křečhoř a.s.. On each location were planted two trial variants 1) without fungicide application 2) with the application of fungicides. On the location Slatiny were applied three fungicides (Toprex, Paroli, Propulse), on the location Křečhoř also three fungicides (Toprex, Magnello, Amistar XTRA). The aim of the bachelor study was to test growth yield and qualitative parameters of the varieties together with observation of fungal diseases and their influence on yield and oil content. We were testing the infestation of following diseases Phoma lingam, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, Verticilium dahlie Botrytis cinerea. Hybrid DK Exstorm (195cm) was the tallest variety on both locations followed by hybrid Arsenal (193,5 cm). By number of branches was the best ranked variety hybrid Arsenal, the lowest was SY Cassidy. On fungicide treated variants grew number of pods per m2 by average 6% on both locations. Average yield vas slightly higher in location Křečhoř in both variants, treated (70kg) and untreated (50 kg). On both locations was visible difference between treated and untreated variants. Yield increase was in average 5,4% (200kg/ha). Varieties with best reaction to fungicide treatment were DK Exstorm (Monsanto) and Jumper (Bayer). Fungicide application influenced also crop height, number of branches and pods per m2. Following conclusions are made in the bachelor study: - Fungicide application increased yield in average by 5,4% (i.e.200 t/ha) and improwed the health of the crop. - DK Exstorm and Jumper were varieties with the best reaction on the fungicide treatmentArsenal (4,37 t/ha) was the best yileding variety on both locations followed by hybrid Jumper (4,27 t/ha). - Arsenal is the recomended variety for both locations Křečhoř and Slatiny

Economic Value Added and its uses in practices
Gallová, Silvia ; Valach, Josef (advisor) ; Oceláková, Petra (referee)
A concept of EVA is critical in evaluating the performance of any business. Economic Value Added refers to the incremental value created by an activity or a business venture. It measures the economic rather than accounting profit created by a business after the cost of all resources including debt and equity had been implied. Improving EVA can be achieved by generating more revenue without using additional capital. The capital invested in the business might be reduced by selling non-operating assets and redeploying the capital into projects and activities with higher operating performance than current projects have. ...

New Strategic Concept of NATO: Czech debate
Pešulová, Hana ; Střítecký, Vít (advisor) ; Karásek, Tomáš (referee)
aj Two years ago there was a need to re-define the position of The North Atlantic Treaty Organization in the system of international relations and to identify it`s main threats and their perception. The strategic concept from the 1999 has become obsolete document which couldn't adequately react to new threats. In the 2009 the process of creation new strategy started. There was assembled a group of experts under lead of Madeleine Albright to stimulate a discussion across member states about the nature and task of NATO and the current perception of security through a number of seminars and conferences. Subsequent analysis of the current security discourse served to NATO Secretary General as a form of recommendations for the preparation of the new strategy. The process of creation was as important as its outcome document, because it included the general professional public in addition to national governments. In my diploma thesis, besides the main themes of the new strategy, I will focus mainly on reflection of Czech debate on the new strategy. I introduce the concept of epistemic communities by Peter Haas, through which I define epistemic Czech group that dealt with the creation of a new NATO strategy.

My paper can show a painter artist’s life who grew up under the military rule for 50 years and the situation and history of Burmese painting field. Then not only people who are studying the painting subject, but also other people can know about the subject of Burmese painting and field of artists. I dare say that my paper must be colorful and fruitful. As a painter artist, it seems that he wants his audience to feel his materials but he rare to show his real life behind the pictures. Master thesis deals with creating of the numerical model of the human vocal folds. Calculation algorithm is designed to include vocal chordsinteraction with the air flow. Analysis of the results achieved by the numerical simulations and calculations are focused on the pressure and velocity conditions in the areas under vocal folds, between vocal folds and above vocal folds. Movement and stress analysis of individual layers of vocal folds has been made. This analysis is limited only for physiological health vocal folds without pathology and disease. Modal analysis of structural and acoustic environment, backround research of vocal folds function and summary of some published overviews of numerical models is part of this work.

Buenos Aires in the Ernesto Sabato's novel Sobre héroes y tumbas (On heroes and tombs)
Netíková, Kristina ; Vydrová, Hedvika (advisor) ; Housková, Anna (referee)
This thesis gives an topology perspective on the Ernesto Sabato's novel Sobre héroes y tumbas (On heroes and tombs, 1961). It presents Buenos Aires in his singularity, as an staggered city on the shore of the Río de la Plata, with his inhabitants mostly of the immigrant origin, with atmosphere of nostalgia voiced by tango and cosmopolitan spirit of bars and cafés. The attention of the work is focused on spaces, mostly linked by other themes that develops its peculiarity and compile its complex character: e.g. monster and labyrinth, uterus - mother and home, conscious and unconscious of the city, port and south as the spaces of hope.... The epicentre of the story is house of the Olmos family- with the impressive windowed balcony "Mirador" and its occupier Alejandra, respresenting the lost Argentinean heroic "criollo" past. This past disappears as well as old Buenos Aires, imagined and loved by Sabato and Borges, his genuine bard and one of the Sabato's novel heroes . Sabato's conception of the city is explicitly negative - as the place of the evil and his realization. He adverts to desperation, isolation and imposibility of communication among the people of Buenos Aires, this New Babilonia, but in fact of every Babylonian citiy in the world. Offers an intercepiton of concomitant circumstanes of the spread of...

Comparison of contemporary terrorism with terrorism of 1970s and 1980s
Knytlová, Petra ; Mlejnek, Josef (advisor) ; Charvát, Jan (referee)
The thesis deals with terrorism and its development as a social phenomenon since 1970s. It has argued that terrorism has undergone a process of radicalization and globalization, particularly as a result of the changed international situation and proliferation of modern technology. Nationalistic terrorism has been replaced with a global form of terrorism. In a similar vein, revolutionist ideologies, typical for terrorist groups of 1970s and 1980s, has given a way to radical interpretations of religions, namely Islamism, which has received substantial popularity as a result of prevailing grievances of the Muslim world. Even though there is no clear distinction between the old and the new form of terrorism, the two social phenomena differ to an important extent. During the second half of 20th century leftist terrorist groups dominated the scene with their fight for a regime change and battle against capitalism as well as imperialism. The organization of the groups took the form of hierarchy and had only limited number of members. At the beginning of the new millennium, the situation changed dramatically with the proliferation of Islamic groups, including the global terrorist group al-Qaeda. The groups work without a formal power structure and are able to hit targets anywhere in the world, as the...
