First was The Adolescent Food Habit Checklist which is used to evaluate adolescents' eating habits and the second one was Stunkard's Three-Factor Eating Questionnaire which is used regulary in psychiatric practise. This form covers three areas: restriction, disinhibition and hunger. Results didn't show that girls have healtier eating habits than boys nor higher tendency for restriction or disinhibition in case of eating behaviour. To support or disprove these results more research is needed. keywords: eating behaviours, eating disorders, adolescents, restriction, disinhibition, hunger, body image, obesity
The effect of the gut microbiota in eating disorders
Hlaváčková, Helena ; Roubalová, Radka (advisor) ; Černý, Viktor (referee)
The essential effect of microbiota on human health has been well known for a long time. Commensal microorganisms colonize virtually the entire surface of the human body, but the greatest amount of them can be found in the gut. The gut microbiota plays a crucial role in the digestion of certain food components, synthesis of various substances, or the immune system responses. In the last decade, attention has also been drawn to the mechanisms by which gut microorganisms can influence the human behaviour. One group of diseases, where this phenomenon is being explored, are eating disorders. This is a group of psychiatric disorders characterized by unhealthy eating behaviors. The aim of this thesis is to summarize current knowledge about the mechanisms by which gut microorganisms can interfere with host signaling and regulatory pathways and how these changes relate to the development and course of eating disorders. And from the opposite view, how the patients' behaviour impacts the composition and functioning of the gut microbiota.
The influence of parents' eating habits on children's development of eating disorders
Černá, Barbora ; Krch, František (advisor) ; Konečná, Judita (referee)
This bachelor's thesis dealt with the issue of eating disorders (ED) in terms of the influence of parents' eating habits on the onset and development of eating disorders in children. The aim of the thesis was to determine whether this influence plays a role in the development of the disorder, how large this influence may be and which specific eating habits may be involved. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis focused on the description of the disease, epidemiology, diagnosis, onset, course, treatment and mortality. In addition, the different types of eating disorders were presented, including their diagnosis and consequences. The last part focused on risk factors, especially the influence of parental eating habits on the onset and development of ED. The practical part was carried out by means of a questionnaire survey. Nineteen respondents took part in the survey. They were parents of outpatients of the psychiatric clinic of the VFN treated for ED. The results showed an association between the eating habits of parents and the development of eating disorders in their children, but were not conclusive. It is necessary to take into account the existence of a number of risk factors and the diversity of their effects on the onset and development of the disease.

The research sample consists of five women who are currently in middle adulthood. Each of them has experience with a long-standing eating disorder. Data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews, and their subsequent analysis took place in two steps. Firstly, the experience of each woman and their basic schemas were examined, emphasizing essential characteristics and features of the respondents. Secondly, common themes and categories of the participants were identified. Specifically, these include dysfunctional family environment and trauma, meeting basic needs in a substitute way, objectification, isolation, and self-destruction. The main findings were then anchored in theoretical concepts and existing research. Keywords: eating disorders, middle adulthood, interpretative phenomenological analysis, life story, experience

Specifics of Ballet Environment as Potentially Risk Factors for the Development of Eating Disorders: Qualitative Analysis
Šimčáková, Markéta ; Vanek, Marián (advisor) ; Taušová, Jitka (referee)
Ballet is a risk environment for the development of eating disorders. At the same time there are specific risk factors that occur only in this environment. For these factors, a statistically significant relationship with risky eating behaviour has been proven. For the vast majority of ballet dancers, these factors induce dissatisfaction with the body. The aim of this study was to expand knowledge about these factors, with an emphasis on how they may affect ballet dancers and how ballet dancers may perceive, experience and respond to these factors. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews and two questionnaires and processed by thematic analysis method. The result is a description and interpretation of the 14 factors through the experience of ballet dancers, a hierarchical categorization of specific risk factors according to how they affect ballet dancers and a thematic map integrating the emerging topics at a higher level of abstraction. Based on the data analysis, the parent "superfactor" Ballet Ideal was identified, giving meaning to all other factors. Ballet dancers who do not fulfill the Ballet Ideal may be more vulnerable and prone to developing eating disorders. The impact of the risk factor on ballet dancers who do fulfill this ideal may be greatly diminished or eliminated....
