Theatre of Slovácko II
Schleider, Jan ; Vorel, Jiří (referee) ; Sládeček, Svatopluk (advisor)
The thesis deals with the design of the contemporary theatre building in the context of the city centre of regional character. The project presents a typologically extensive theatre operation in architectural form which, despite the importance of the building, does not by its scale disturb the spatial arrangement and context of the selected locality. The present Slovácko Theatre currently has two scenes in two different buildings that were not originally built as theatre buildings. The design of the new building is supposed to replace the provisional structures. My design of the new Slovácko Theatre building has the ambition to represent a distinctive theatre of modern operation, corresponding to the importance and capacity of the town of Uherské Hradiště. After extensive preparation and study of theatre architecture in the Czech Republic, with the application of spatial analyses and theatre typology, it was the location near the city centre that I evaluated as the most suitable for the construction of the new Slovácko Theatre.
Implementation of geospatial technologies into modeling of urban processes in strategic planning of city development

OF PH.D. THESIS - RNDR. JAROSLAV BURIAN Abstract in English "Implementation of geospatial technologies into modeling of urbanization processes in strategic planning of city development" PhD thesis represents original author's approach to the modeling of urban processes by using GIS in Olomouc region. In theoretical part, urban processes and spatial structures of the cities are described in connection with geospatial technologies and digital data for studying, analysis, modeling and simulation. Practical part is divided into for separated parts to fluently binding and creating homogenous thematic block. The first part of the thesis analyses development of Olomouc city by using functional areas derived from historical urban plans (since 1930). The development of urban processes, spatial structures of the city and impacts of urbanization and suburbanization are evaluated. Second chapter describes identification, analysis and quantification of suburbanization in Olomouc suburban space. The main result is Toolbox "Suburban Analyst" in ArcGIS software that use multi- criteria evaluation method and allows identifying and quantifying suburbanization in municipalities' level. Third part analyses the readiness of municipalities and cadastral areas for suburbanization. The final values of readiness represent...
Sport in a view of a sociology (role of sport in a society and transformation of sport at the beginning of 3rd millenary)
Vorel, Jan ; Duffková, Jana (advisor) ; Vinopal, Jiří (referee)
This work introduces sport as a socio-cultural phenomenon especially of the end of the 20th century, which affects plenty of areas of every-day life almost every person. The main tasks of this work are to define the conception of Sport in a sociological way, to show the historical develope in particular eras o human being, main connections between sport and society and some of things, which caused changes of the look at sport at the end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century.

City simulation software for modeling, planning, and strategic assessment of territorial city units. 1.1. Prague: CTU & ICS CAS, 2021. Technical Report. ABSTRACT: The Smart Resilience City concept is a new vision of a city as a digital platform and eco-system of smart services where agents of people, things, documents, robots, and other entities can directly negotiate with each other on resource demand principals providing the best possible solution. It creates the smart environment making possible self-organization in sustainable or, when needed, resilient way of individuals, groups and the whole system objectives.

Final Report of the Project „Data Acquisition from the Deep Horizons of the Rožná Mine“ presents the results of the study of rock mass properties with respect to the presence of a significant tectonic zone. The study focused on the change of properties in the vicinity of the so-called first zone of the Rožná deposit, but also on the change of these properties with a depth of 12–24. floor of the former mine, 550-1200 m below the surface. Realized works included geological, petrographic, geochemical description of the rock environment, geophysical work (esp. seismics), study of physico-mechanical properties of rocks, transport experiments and deposit revalidation of the Rožná deposit. All work was carried out for the purpose of describing the studied zone and its manifestation with an emphasis on ensuring the safety of the potential location of the deep geological repository.
Construction and quality assessment of the genome assemblies
Korená, Lucie ; Leontovyč, Roman (advisor) ; Vorel, Jiří (referee)
Detailed information of the genome of the studied organism is crucial for many fields of modern research. Actual sequencing technologies are not able to read the whole DNA molecule at once therefore only fragments of the genetic information are obtained, which are not sufficiently informative on their own. The goal of the genomic-bioinformatic approach is to assemble these fragments into complete original information - genome assembly. The process of the genome assembly is demanding in terms of computational power, software equipment and expert staff. Many assemblers - programs for genome assembly are available differing in performance, size of the analyzed genome or target organism. The quality of final assembly is fully dependent on assembler and setting of inner parameters. In practice, multiple assemblies are constructed and their quality evaluated according to the technical and biological parameters. The presented thesis describes current high throughput sequencing technologies, different approaches and algorithms for genome assembly and methodology for their quality assessment. The practical part is focused on assembly and its quality assessment using Illumina data of the bird fluke Trichobilharzia szidati.

Using homogenization and nanoindentation for microfibril angle determination of spruce
Kucíková, L. ; Hrbek, Vladimír ; Vorel, J. ; Šejnoha, M.
This paper is concerned with the evaluation of microfibril angle of spruce. The microfibril angle is defined as an inclination of microfibrils from the longitudinal axis, the direction of lumens. It is well known and further supported by the present study that the microfibril angle has a great influence on the final mechanical properties of wood. This angle could be measured either directly using, e.g. polarisation microscopy, X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, or indirectly, as used in this study, by employing the nanoindentation measurements. Therein, the measured indentation modulus is compared with that obtained numerically using the anisotropic theory of indentation. The latter one depends on the entire stiffness matrix derived through homogenization and the searched microfibril angle. In view of the cell wall microstructure, the effective cell properties were found using the two-step micromechanical homogenization adopting both the Self-consistent and Mori-Tanaka methods.
Strength of composite yarn under biaxial loading
Valentová, S. ; Hrbek, Vladimír ; Vorel, J. ; Šejnoha, M.
The present paper is concerned with two types of periodic unit cell of composite yarn with different geometry but the same material properties. Their macroscopic response under tensile and compressive loading in the transverse direction and their combination are plotted in the graphs. Based on stress-strain curves the failure envelopes are constructed. A simple maximum stress criterion and linear softening law is used in the adopted progressive damage analysis to outline the softening part of stress-strain diagrams. Finally the impact of selected representative volume element is observed through the comparison of results gained for both designed periodic unit cells in the microlevel, meaning the level of yarn.
