Kateřina Rybářová Title: The Independence in Persons with Multiple Sclerosis from the Perspective of the Occupational Therapist Abstract: The bachelor thesis is focused on the independence in persons with multiple sclerosis (MS) from the perspective of the occupational therapist. Multiple sclerosis is a chronic autoimmune demyelinating disease. The progress and symptoms of the disease are variable and specific to each patient, who may be impaired in his/her ability to perform activities of daily living (ADL). The aim of the thesis is to map problematic areas in ADL in persons with MS. The thesis consists of a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part describes MS, pathogenesis, forms, symptoms, and treatment options. The theoretical part characterizes independence in ADL, evaluation of independence, independence in persons with MS, care for these persons, and compensation strategies. In the practical part, questionnaires distributed among patients were evaluated. The obtained data were compared on the basis of demographic data of patients. Marianna Vavříková Title: Occupational Therapy Intervention for Children with Rett Syndrom in Early School Age Abstract: The bachelor thesis is focused on the possibilities of developing motor skills in girls with Rett syndrome through leisure activities. Rett syndrome is a neurodegenerative disease associated with a pathogenic gene mutation. The aim of the thesis is to describe the subjective view of parents on how leisure activities develop the motor skills of girls with Rett syndrome in early school age. All from the occupational therapist perspective. The bachelor thesis contains a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part describes the issue of Rett syndrome, the characteristics of the disease, the clinical picture, the issue of communication and the stage of the disease with the possibility of occupational therapy intervention. It is also focused on the importance of leisure time and leisure activities for the child and its family. At the same time, the author suggests some opportunities of how leisure activities can be used to develop motor skills in girls with Rett syndrome. Title: Sensory Processing Disorders in Children in Occupational Therapy Abstract: Sensory Processing Disorders significantly affect the daily life of the child and his family. They occur in about 7-15% of the population and in up to the 90% of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The aim of this thesis is to describe opportunities of occupational therapy interventions for children with Sensory Processing Disorders. The theoretical part presents the Sensory Integration method as a comprehensive method for diagnosis and therapy of these disorders. The next part is devoted to a more detailed description of individual Sensory Processing Disorders. The thesis also presents general requirements for the implementation of Sensory Integration therapy. An important part of the theoretical element is the description of therapy for two specific disorders - dyspraxia and tactile defensiveness. OF BACHELOR THESIS Title of bachelor thesis: An Overview of Instruments Applicable for Assessment of Basic Activities of Daily Living by Occupational Therapist Abstract of bachelor thesis: This bachelor thesis is theory-driven. Despite the fact that the main domains of occupational therapist interests and evaluation are an important part of the occupational therapy process, I was not able to find a publication, which would describe an assessments of basic activities of daily living (BADL) in the Czech language. For this reason, the goal of this bachelor thesis was to create an overview of basic information of objective assessments which are applicable for evaluating BADL and select the ones which are possible to use in the Czech Republic. The criteria for the selection are: objectivity, traceability of a studies of validity and reliability in a databases EBSCO Host (UKAŽ), BMČ from years 2010-2020, ideally 2015-2020 or at a website Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, the assessments contain at least 4 BADL items which are described in Occupational Therapy Practice Framework: Domain and Process. I found more than 120 assessments overall; out of which I chose 55; out of which 24 were objective; and from these 16 standardized. The aim of this work is to map the course of application of each instrument and their comparison in selected areas. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on the use of the instruments in patients depending on various consequences of acquired brain injury. The theoretical part describes various types of acquired brain injury, their consequences and possibilities of rehabilitation. Then the recommended course of application of individual instruments is described. The practical part describes the course of application of individual instruments in concrete clients. Occupational Therapy Support for Families of Children with Cerebral Palsy

The bachelor's thesis deals with occupational therapy support for families taking care of children with cerebral palsy. The work aims at defining areas where occupational therapists can support these families and also assess how the asset of occupational therapy intervention is viewed by the caregivers themselves. In the theoretical part, cerebral palsy and its most frequent therapies (with accent on occupational therapy) are briefly described. The theoretical part focuses on informal care, the family of the child with cerebral palsy and the consequences that the long-term care brings. The last part of the theoretical part deals with the way how occupational therapists should work with parents who take care of children with cerebral palsy and also introduces the areas where they can do so. Based on the interviews with occupational therapists, the practical part sums up the areas of occupational therapy support for families of children with cerebral palsy and subsequently assesses the support by means of a questionnaire for caregivers. Objectification of The Alberta Infant Motor Scale for Czech Republic

Topic of the master thesis: Objectification of The Alberta Infant Motor Scale for Czech Republic Background: In the Czech Republic there is not a lot of standardized assessments for children which are formed for the Czech population. It is possible to use assessments from other countries. But for well interpreting of results and for good evidence based practice therapists need to have Czech normative data. Aims: Aim of this study was to make pilot study for using Alberta Infant Motor Scale. And then identify whether Czech therapists need to make new Czech normative data or if it is possible to use the Canadian ones. Methods: Alberta Infant Motor Scale was used on 31 Czech children. Assessment was used in home setting with presence of mother. All of assessments were videotaped. Each video was analyzed and the child obtained score after home visit. All mothers were informed about the research and anonymity was kept. Results: In the gross motor development Czech population is retarded in comparison with the Canadian normative data.
