Is it possible to research translation activity of women who were members of "The American Women's Club" in Prague in the 19th and early 20th century?

This thesis focuses on the translation activity of women who were members of the American Ladies' Club, since its establishment in 1865 until 1910. It provides a short overview of the historical context, focusing mainly on the development of the Czech women's movement and the history of the American Ladies' Club. It then describes the research that was conducted and which sources were used. Next, the results of the research are described, mainly in terms of how the translation activity of the Club's members developed over time and what languages and genres were translated. The relationship between individual members' translation activity and their own literary work is also examined. This general overview is then accompanied by a translation analysis of two selected translations and their original texts. Motivation for continuing education and factors affecting participation in continuing education

The aim of this bachelor thesis "Motivation for continuing education and factors affecting participation in continuing education" is to analyze what motivates adults to participate in continuing education and what are main obstacles in adult education. The paper consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with an overview of basic knowledge about the issue with the use of literature, both domestic and foreign authors. The second, practical part contains a description of own empirical survey. The aim of the survey is to identify the main reasons for adults to participate in continuing education and detect the most common barriers, obstacles to such participation. The survey is trying to confirm the conclusions from the theoretical part by the analysis of the select company. This thesis aims to translate the essay The Lion and the Mouse by Jill Lepore from English into Czech. The essay, published in The New Yorker in July 2008, follows the creation of E. B. White's book Stuart Little as a way of talking about children's literature in general. The second part of the thesis provides an analysis of the source text, describes the selected translation method, discusses the major translation problems along with their solutions and presents the translation shifts that occurred during the translation process. Opportunities and limits of evaluating the quality and efficiency in education

This master thesis entitled "Opportunities and limits of evaluating the quality and efficiency in education " explores the possibilities of detecting and evaluating the quality, efficiency and impact of education. The thesis is composed of two parts . The theoretical part describes the basic terms and definitions of the education, presents analysis of approaches to evaluating the quality and effectiveness of further education, including explanations of specific models and evaluation methods which measure the impact of training on person or on the company in general. The empirical part deals with the analysis of the evaluation system of education in practice, particularly in two companies (Wrigley, Staropramen Brewery) and five secondary schools. At the end everything is summarized and some recommendations and suggestions are provided.
Analysis of supply and demand of further education in the economic fields

In the theoretical entry, the study devotes to introduction to the topic of further education and explanation of basic concepts. It also briefly describes the history and current situacion in further education. Work deals on theoretical-descriptive level with the legislative framework for further education in the Czech Republic. Empirical part of this work is focused on a comparison of supply and demand for further education in economic field. By using survey the preferences of potential participants of accounting courses in Prague was identified. Outputs from this research were compared with the supply of accounting courses in Prague. At the end, the work set out some recommendations and proposals, which could help supply to adapt better to the demand for accounting courses for adults.
